as someone learning japanese, I felt this alot, can still never say the R's right
I also think the pitch accent is stupid. The majority of the time context is obvious. And the other times it feels natural in the word. It’s like saying “control” you could say it the normal way or you can say it “con-“ as is congress, then “-trol” same things but you’d feel it off. So the whole pitch accent thing is just unnecessary redundancy.
