I truly thought that something bad was going to happen within the dungeon during our expedition and then our main character would save the day and the entire class would be like, “Oh my god, he’s so cool.” And that would be the extent of the power fantasy. Never did I for a second think like what happened last episode would happen. The dungeon expedition pacing was really great. We got it over with real quick. Nice. And then we’re chilling. Eclipse happens. What is happening? Akuma appears. So I guess like this is something that puts us in a different pocket dimension. I think the Akuma Leon Leonor right mentioned that it was like a cloister that she has no control over and when the eclipse happens she’s present and when it’s gone it’s not why were they there? Where was everyone else in the city? Maybe it was really a pocket dimension and why was Leonota there? Maybe there were other Akuma around that was like part of a bigger mission and Leon was just happened to be there and just saw, you know, our main character and thought, “Hey, great opportunity to fight.” The fight itself was gorgeous. So amazing. The amount of impact frames make that go brain goggonga. The creative usage of water magic, even though we’ve seen different applications before, it was stunning. The boiling water, oh my god. And then the voice acting from Leonora too, just peak. And then at the end, I love how the interaction of like Leonor was like, “This is my name.” And then he was like, “Filthy ass akuma.” Said it like a slur. Anyways, peak episode. I want more Akuma lore. Let’s see what happens today. Okay. them bullying these poor goblins. It’s the same theme again. Strong monsters that shouldn’t be here are already here. What’s happening down below? Smart leader. Hey, great. What is Rio up to? Yeah, I think they realize how Rio is just built different. I mean, you saw how the way that like he showed up at the end of last episode and just like helped his friends from the bullying situation. It was so easy, right? And it’s kind of also crazy how Rio doesn’t even mention anything about the Akma to anybody. What was the logic there that like if he did, people will start panicking? I feel like we should at least tell Abel or something about this monster. Uhoh. That’s a person, right? That’s an adventurer, right? The hell was that ghoulish like sound though? The shadows still. Uhoh. No, it’s a human being cut. I don’t know. I don’t know. It feels like adventurers are getting cut down by a big monster here. Maybe a troll. [Music] What’s Rio up to now? He says her name. I feel like he should tell people akamas were attacking before though. Nobody. This is Lynn, right? She’s still like very sus of Rio and like how powerful and OP he is with magic. She’s just trying to like learn about him. Huh? Master remember that later. What did she say? If it exists at all, they’d have to be original spells. Feel like it’s a very important mechanic that I don’t know what it is, but original spells. OP stuff. Maybe it is just as simple as like what Ryu does cuz it’s not like he’s using name techniques. He just thinks about the applications of water magic and then he innovates and creates his own magic. Therefore, it is his original spell. Inferno magician mentioned again. Oh, the blonde girl. S. Random like helping knights and [ __ ] Guild and local knights and guilds that he mentioned before. That’s crazy. I mean, I don’t like a party of four is not even that big, but still. A party of two. Okay. And he uses a spear and and the girl has nothing. Oh, interesting. They just dual queue on. Never mind. This is the brigade. They look like a bunch of NPCs, though. Okay. Okay. Okay. This is the white brigade. Ah, I got baited. Ah, it’s kind of lame. I kind of wanted them to just two people. It would have been way more epic to be like, damn, they’re like a twoman brigade. There’s a lot. There’s so many, dude. And and remember, there’s a lot of these guys, but also there’s like a big big monster. In the beginning of the episode, we saw a very shadowy big figure, you know, cutting down what I assume is an adventurer. So, should look out for that. PowerPoint presentation fight. [Music] Yeah, the quality of this episode’s definitely lower than the others, right? And it makes sense. I guess they don’t want to prioritize, you know, animating all these [ __ ] goblins. Use CG, use PowerPoint presentation here and there. I’m I’m not a I’m not like um worried because I’ve seen what they’re capable of, so I’m sure they’re assigning priority into different scenes. God, Lind is just always a [ __ ] Let’s go back up. Big one. That’s right. That’s right. The big one we saw in the intro. [Music] Here’s some arrow, sir. All right, it’s been all day. They all jumped and then Lynn uses the magic to like cushion the fall which implies that like they were all just like in harmony all in unison to be like all right let’s just I I guess they’ve done this before Jesus earth masakon does she have to get underneath for that all right there’s the big Yo, where’s the hobgoblin at? Where’s the goblin king at? Bro, hold up. Maybe the big one. We haven’t even seen him just yet. Warren’s still a [ __ ] Okay. We’re lucky the king didn’t come out early. Yo, battle priest. Yo, they’re jinxing it. It’s not really over yet, right? What the? He tripping flags. Okay. Is it really over? I guess it is. Okay. It’s over. Not going to lie, very underwhelming fight, right? This episode has been very scuffed in terms of the relative comparisons of last episodes. It’s Goblin Stampede. Who cares? And then Rio had his entire date. All right, date’s over. The wait. No, no, no, no, no. There’s something more, bro. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It feels ominous. Something feels very like anticlimactic, right? It feels like we’re still missing something. And clearly at the end of the episode, they are hinting that next episode something crazy is going to happen and Rio will have to get involved. Today’s episode lowkey kind of mid, right? Again, I think it’s because of the standard that this anime has set for itself in the previous episodes. So, I’m not going to complain too much that the goblin animations were bad because it’s not that important of a priority. Obviously, if the consistency of the animation could be delivered in every episode, that’d be nice. But, you know, we got to face the reality and understand that they have to maintain and manage the resources. And maybe next episode when it actually matters, it’ll be way better. Rio and Sarah’s relationship, it’s starting to blossom. I think he is in love with her, right? She’s a very straightforward and um not shy at all and she’s a wind user and she has a party single member. Maybe we can join it one of these days. Rio learning how to move with water magic today was pretty funny too. The way that he’s already so he’s already thinking about you know what to do against the akumas, right? So that’s nice to know. If only that he would tell other people about the akumas regarding the goblin stampede. There is one more I think. Right. It’s not the goblin king. Is the goblin emperor there? Maybe goblin god. Maybe that thing is going to be what we saw in the intro of today’s episode. You know, there was a very dark shadowy figure just going crazy. So, we’ll see what happens next time. That’s it from me.
