このエピソードについての俺の感想だけど―
何をやってるか、ちゃんとわかってる。
そして作者がやってることが俺は好きだ。
「考えさせる」っていうね。

作者は一つの答えを押し付けたいわけじゃない。
いろんな視点で考えさせたいんだと思う。
人によって意見が違って当然だっていう前提で描いてる。

それこそが「本物の作者」が望んでることだと思うんだ。
みんなに同じ意見を持たせたいわけじゃない。
意見の違う人を裁くようなこともしない。

本当の意味で「作品を愛してるファン」っていうのは、
こうやって語り合えるくらい情熱を持ってる人たちのことだと思う。

俺、この作品めっちゃ好きだよ。
たぶんここ最近で一番好きな作品かもしれない。
こんなに深く語ること、滅多にないしね。
でもそれだけ、この作品に入り込んでるってことなんだ。

で、みんなの意見も聞きたいんだ。

今の家庭環境とか、全部含めて、どう感じた？

俺が前にも言ったように、「言い訳にはならない」って思ってる。
まりなのことは本当に可愛くて、明るくて、楽しそうな子だったと思う。
でも、毒親のせいで壊されて、怪物になってしまった。
その責任は親にある。

でも、それでも――
彼女の中には、ちゃんと心もあったと思う。

だけど、子どもだって「人を傷つけてること」は分かってる。
俺も小さい頃、友だちのポケモンカードをうっかり破っちゃったことがあって、
めちゃくちゃ罪悪感を感じたんだ。
それで、自分のカードを束であげたんだよ。

つまり、年齢なんて関係ない。
誰かを傷つければ、それはわかるもんなんだよ。
