Once upon a time
There was an ogre that ate people and a Momotaro who exterminated them. The battle between the two opposing races
continues to this day. After graduation, you guys will be on the front lines as Momotaro agents.
I want to get stronger. To avenge my parents, I don’t have time to waste. I’m going back to the earth now.
Are we supposed to fight over it? This is interesting. I’m getting a headache.
It’s not our turn yet. Can I become stronger? This is my first step. What a pain, a massive outbreak of low-level demon agents. Are they building defenses and playing army? Humans are ridiculous, aren’t they? We just kill dangerous demons.
What? The front line isn’t the only battlefield. This is my battlefield. If you’re strong, you won’t die. It’s a simple fact. You’re still kind. Please make them stronger. What am I doing? Isn’t Momotaro supposed to be a hero of justice?

The Anime Series “TOUGEN ANKI” will be available on multiple platforms including Crunchyroll, Netflix and Prime Video.

Originally created by Yura Urushibara, the manga debuted in 2020 in AKITASHOTEN’s Weekly Shōnen Champion.
Drawing on the well-known Japanese folktale of “Momotaro,” the series depicts a conflict between those with Oni(demon) blood and those with Momotaro blood.
With over 4 million copies in print, the franchise launched the “TOUGEN ANKI Project” in June 2023.

■Synopsis
The bloodlines of “Oni” and “Momotarou” have been passed down among certain humans for generations.
Long ago, the Oni, aware of their own ferocity, lived in seclusion. However, their peace was shattered by an invasion led by Momotarou. Over thousands of years, these two factions formed the “Momotarou Agency” and the “Oni Agency,” respectively, and have been locked in conflict ever since.
The protagonist, Shiki Ichinose, suddenly learns of his Oni lineage following an unexpected attack by Momotarou. This revelation sets Shiki on a path to discover the destiny that lies within his blood — a meeting with the Oni dwelling within him.
—A new generation of dark heroics begins here in this tale of demons!
