Andrew & Tara keep their SUPERMAN MARATHON rolling down the road to James Gunn’s Superman giving Superman III Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Analysis, & Spoiler Review!!
Join Andrew Gordon & Tara Erickson as they revisit the 1983 superhero romp Superman III, where Clark Kent / Superman (Christopher Reeve, Somewhere in Time, Superman II) faces his most unusual adversary yet—computer whiz Gus Gorman (Richard Pryor, Stir Crazy, Brewster’s Millions). When small‐town tech genius Gus lands a gig with sinister oil baron Ross Webster (Robert Vaughn, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Bullitt), he’s duped into synthesizing Kryptonite, creating an evil doppelgänger of the Man of Steel who rampages through Smallville in one of the film’s most searched‐for scenes. Meanwhile, Lois Lane (Margot Kidder, The Amityville Horror, Black Christmas) juggles her investigative instincts with her growing suspicions about Superman’s strange new behavior.
Rounding out the cast are Annette O’Toole as Ross’s calculating wife Vera Webster (noted for 3:10 to Yuma and later TV’s Superman & Lois), Pamela Stephenson as socialite Lacy Warfield (comedian from Not The Nine O’Clock News), and Jackie Cooper as Daily Planet editor Perry White (the original Pete & Gladys), plus Marc McClure returning as the ever‐awed Jimmy Olsen (Superman, Superman II).
Andrew & Tara break down every standout moment—from Gus’s frantic Kryptonite heist in the Arctic and the iconic “Evil Superman” fight in a Glendale parking garage to the hilariously over‐the‐top spoof of technology run amok at Ross’s private plane hangar. Don’t miss their take on the unforgettable sequence where Superman’s alter ego lounges in Smallville’s diner, the cheeky “cloning” of Superman by synthetic Kryptonite, and the climactic rooftop showdown that forces Clark to reclaim his true heroism.

  1. This movie was trash and Richard Pryor had absolutely no business being it. The villains were awful. I adore Christopher Reeve as Superman, but this was made as a cash grab by the producers, pure and simple. And as bad as III was, IV would be even worse.

  2. 0:11 Mark! Howdy! Oops! Wait! There are so many of you to keep track of! 😂 I saw the reaction to the first movie by you two, and then the software showed me the second one, but that was with two women, and I had seen it!

Where's your reaction to the second one? 🤔 Advanced-thanks for this watching this one! 🎉😊

Now, about your description box! Annette O'Toole is "Martha Kent" in "Smallville"! When did she ever appear in "Superman & Lois"? I didn't get to finish that series because of lightning striking our house. ⚡️

Perhaps you could insert "Cat People"? She's so sexy in that one! ❤

"Brewster's Millions"! I haven't seen it since it was new in theaters! 😊 By coincidence, recently via "Tubi" while borrowing Dad's smartphone, I saw a B&W version, though I forget when it was made. There are so many versions! 😢

  3. 35:35 Superman III mentions "Little Ricky's party," referring to the son of Lucy and Ricky Ricardo from I Love Lucy.
This is a direct shout-out to an old I Love Lucy episode where the "real" Superman (played by George Reeves from the TV show Adventures of Superman) actually appears at Little Ricky's birthday party.

  4. Even as a kid I couldn't fully enjoy this one.
Don't get me wrong, it has some great moments, and Reeve is excellent as always, but it really isn't a great movie.

The lady being turned into the robot used to scare the hell out of me 😂
And I always liked the moments in smallville.
    And of course, evil Superman.

But the rest really isn't good.

I'd like to say that this is as bad as it gets 😅….but 😬😢

  5. The blonde actress is married to legendary comedian Billy Connolly, who you probably saw in the last samurai

  6. My ranking for the Christopher Reeve Superman films is pretty much the same as the release order, lol. 1,2,3,4. I only put 3 over 4 because of the pseudo Bizarro Superman scenes. Sup 4 is just….just…well at least they got Gene Hackman back…and as much turmoil as Christopher Reeve was going thru in his personal life (watch the documentary) he always brought his A game to all Superman films

  7. I think this is the first "bigger" Channel that made a Superman III reaction. Thank you all very much !!

+ the only great thing in all 4 Movies is always Christopher Reeve in both roles.

  8. Baby Elon saw this movie and said, "One day, I'll build a supercomputer that takes over the world".

  9. Basically the unknown element is the effects of Red Kryptonite.. Which makes Superman apathetic which corrupts his good nature, making him lean more towards the dark side in him. Because anyone whose seen the Smallville series knows that there are different Kryptonite variations that affect Superman/Clark differently.

  10. Is Bonkers the polite way of saying DOG SHIT 🤣
However as wrestched as this movie is I will usually watch it for as long as I can strictly because of Richard Pryor & I'll watch it until the ridiculous trainwreck of the movie that is gets the better of me & I just can't take watch it anymore lol. It's been decades since I sat down & watched this from beginning to end & will probably be decades more until I do it again

  11. Dude …SHUT THE FOK UP about the suit fuk this guy ruins every reaction he does every freaking reaction, and I watch CineBinge My. Video .. The Normies … Emma Reactions The Coby Show The October's Dawn Marie Mary Cherry Magic Magy Addie Counts SebScreen Dylan is In Trouble Popcorn in Bed Dasha from Russia all reactors small channel and large and thus guy is the worst annoying reactor just says way too much facts or overstatesit 10 times example the color suit throughout reaction. Dude you gotta stop it. Stop it right now. Stop Stop Stop just FokN stop it ruins reaction its migraine frustrating watching I. Makes me say bad things to you you fokN talking person. You're ruining the very thing you do reactions to buy over doing it.

  12. The tonal shift is much less pronounced if you come from the theatrical release of Superman II. (Still think watching the Donner cut first is a mistake.)

  13. 15:32 Superman met Jimmy Olsen a bunch of times before Superman III. The real plot hole of this chemical fire story is that Superman could've just cooled down the boiling acid with his breath & no need to freeze an entire lake to put out the fire.

  14. The issue is that the movie takes too long to establish larger stakes, and even those stakes feel rather low. The supercomputer should've been built in Act II for the sake of manipulating the weather satellite, and it should've gone rogue and threatened the world while Superman was still under the influence of the synthetic kryptonite. Lana and her son should have been in genuine peril as the supercomputer began taking over the world.

  15. 1:41:55 ironically, that actress is Pamela Stephenson/Connolly. As the wife of Sir Billy Connolly she is now Lady Connolly, but she is also Doctor Pamela Connolly as she has a clinical psychology doctorate and was a practicing therapist and an adjunct professor in sex therapy. So yes, she actually is that smart.

  16. I was 9 when this came out. Saw it in theaters. Liked it. Didn't love it. There are still some moments that I'll never forget. The studio was banking on Richard Pryor's comedy to bring more people to theaters. While funy, it fell a little flat compared to the first two films. Webster was a poor mans Lex and the film needed a better villain. As said by others, Vera transforming into "Braniac" was traumatizing! Annette O'Toole was fantastic. I loved him going back to Smallville. Christopher Reeve was amazing playing evil Superman and good Clark.

  17. Please watch Smallville series. Also out of all the superman actors Tom welling in the show being infected by green kryptonite is the best I've ever seen especially when you see green veins on his face and hands also Smallville Clark being infected with red kryptonite you really see how it's not really him, when Martha and Johnathan Kent used black kryptonite to seperated Clark and his kal-el self freaked me out with help from Margret kitter the Lois from Christopher reeve superman, silver kryptonite made Clark see things made him confused, blue kryptonite was used to help stop bizzaro, pink kryptonite made Smallville Clark all lovey dovey with Lois who also got infected in season 9 , gold kryptonite was a close call. Again rejects please watch Smallville I really miss my childhood show.
