Hachiko is why I wanna get an Akita. Such stalwart loyalty and hachiko showed that . According to the dog whisperer, dogs live in the moment but they also can be taught routine. So, I believe part of this loyal gesture was hachiko just following routine since according to what he had been taught, his master should have come out of the station at a certain time. This is amazing. I just returned from Japan and visited the statue in Shibuya. Where in the world did you find an actual film of Hachiko? Thank you for posting. I am a new fan of Hachiko. According to the history that I have read, this must have been taken at the dedication of the statue in 1934. The part of the film with the gentleman in the hat holding Hachiko by the harness is one of the classic photos on the web, which further validates the authenticity of this film.
I like seeing this – while I realize the movie about this is for entertainment purposes, it only got to show the sad moments. It's nice to see Hachiko had a lot of happy moments before his passing. People eventually gravitated to him because of his loyalty and love to his owner.
Such a wonderful story. Sadly Hachiko was at times bullied by some, while he waited. But he never left. He still lives on today in the hearts and minds of so many. Truly a man's best friend. A blessing. Long live Hachiko!
Woah, when it panned to him I got chills. Idk why but knowing his story and after seeing so many different retellings of it makes this one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. He really moved just like any other dog…
