Sure, it might not have been "realistic" or the best decision to get rid of Darwin this way, but the way ya'll are going on and on about his powers in the comments just makes me think he shouldn't have been in the movie in the first place.
you guys sound like that kid that likes Broly because "His Power is Maximum!" or Cartman in that one episode of South Park where he keeps making up powers for himself so he doesn't lose.
This guy sounds completely overpowered, and for characters like that, like the Hulk, or Superman, they're best portrayed when written with a little tact, and not put in straight 1 on 1 situations as a major story point.
You guys keep calling this bad writing, but in your version of this movie, Darwin would just solo Shaw, and Magneto, and the Russians. and the movie would be 30 minutes long.
I remember a college peer told me about this but I didn't understand at the time, now after a video and watching the first-class film I can understand, Darwin should not have died, if they REALLY wanted a death scene, why not use another mutant? the Xmen characters are filled with them.
