I should have read the video description before watching as I started to experience nausea when those God mumbo jumbo shit dravel were served far into the movie – guess I would have expected that from an American movie. Like Christianity had monopoly on universal human values.

This isn't so much science fiction as it is economic fiction. Those first messages wouldn't have caused economic consequences, but just the opposite as the methods hadn't been tried and would quickly have shown to be failures. I do wish that the religious revival was true.
