    This episode did a better job than the manga as far showing how much Harold was an actual good brother. Canute has had an incredible character arc along with Thorfinn

    Just a little clarification for the timeline:

    When we saw Canute burning English land that was 1015 then we skipped ahead to 1018 and saw him as a king.

    THEN

    When we returned to Thorfinn and Einar it was 1015 again now 3 years passed and it's 1018. It's made clear in the manga by giving dates in the panel but here they didn't say anything. So we're now in the same year that Canute became king.

    The comparision between how Thorfinn was influenced from askeladd and thors vs how Canute was influenced by Swen and Askeladd is very interesting.

    The amount of intricate interwoven plotlines and stories being told is actually insane. You could talk for hours about the parallels between Thorfinn, Canute, Thors, Askeladd, and even Einar. How Thorfinn and Canute are essentially taking opposite paths, both with similar ideals in mind. How Thorfinn is essentially rejecting viking/human nature, fighting an uphill battle, while Canute embraces it and achieves everything he wants with ease. But which path is the correct one? Sorry, I'm gushing. Yukimura is a f**king genius.

    Canute's development is by far the best in this season. Man went from being an obsessed idealist who cared about nothing but his Bible to a level headed realist who's damn near scary at this point.

    Just binged watch S2 of trashlan slow paced , lackluster, & suspicious…episode 10 is like the rest of the 9 other episodes another lame episode…😴😪… just watch S1 wait for season 3…farmland slave saga is trash.

    If you remember Canutes goal from season 1 one it's to create a paradise on Earth, the contrast of Thorfinn is beautiful . What's crazy I see people saying Thorfinn will need to get his hands dirty meanwhile, think Canute is getting his hands too dirty

    Canute influenced by Sweyn & Askeladd
    Thorfinn influenced by Thors & Askeladd
    Thorfinn represents Askeladd's true side(hates violence & slavery) & Canute his dark side(ends justify means, any means necessary)

    “Is this all there is to it? This is nothing,” I think, is a way of Canute saying that the guilt or conscious he feels after killing his brother is nothing. He’s asking if that’s all he feels because it wasn’t enough for him to really feel true guilt about it

    at the end, I think what he meant by "thats all there is to it?" Is that, if all he has to deal with is the guilt from killing his brother, then he can deal with that no problem

    I don't think it's known what killed IRL Harald, so Yukimura capitalized and framed it as a plot of Canute to show development. IRL Canute set up some big things.
