My reaction to Season 1 Episode 24 of Vinland Saga. What an absolutely amazing finale. I couldn’t have wished for a better sendoff to Askeladd and I loved how all the core character’s actions and dialogues in this last episode of the season perfectly symbolized what we came to know them for. The tease at the end for the future of the show has me incredibly excited to see what direction we’ll head into for Season 2, so I can’t wait to start watching it when it airs very soon!

  1. What an absolutely amazing finale. I couldn't have wished for a better sendoff to Askeladd and I loved how all the core character's actions and dialogues in this last episode of the season perfectly symbolized what we came to know them for. The tease at the end for the future of the show has me incredibly excited to see what direction we'll head into for Season 2, so I can't wait to start watching it when it airs in January! I hope to see you all back for my Season 2 reactions very soon!

  2. A son who got revenge for a father he hated, and a son who failed to avenge the father he loved, Thorfinn and Canute have such an awesome dichotomy!

  3. did you really need to put a spoiler in the thumbnail? I haven't finished the series and just because I watched your reaction to some other series this came up in my recommended and I just got spoiled. I think you should change the thumbnail and avoid doing this in the future.

  4. You're gonna love season 2, really cannot wait to watch vinland saga season 2 alongside your reactions.

  5. Brilliant season finale. Askeladd’s death was heartbreaking, and you can see in that moment when he’s dying that Thorfinn did care about him. Even if it was only because killing askeladd was his only goal in life, you can see that the years they spent together did weigh on his heart. In the end, it was like Thorfinn lost a second father.

  6. You were not supposed to recognize the characters in the ending sequence. I can say for certain that the man in the boat will be a primary character for the upcoming season, but it's looking pretty likely that the first two characters shown won't make it until season three.

Any chance you plan to react to the trailers between now and January 9th?

  7. He died for his king (Prince Canute)
He died for his country (Wales)
He died for his mother (Being insulted by the king)

Also, how in hell u didn’t cry? Man made of steel heheh, I needed one business day of crying :’)

  8. i’m so excited to see what you will think about this next arc i personally think it’s one of the best arcs in any manga it’s very philosophical and makes you think a lot. vinland saga gets better and better as time goes on

  9. i wouldve never thought askeladd’s death would hit me this hard. cant wait for s2!

  10. Askellads character somewhat serves as a warning to what Thorfinns lifestyle can lead to. In the end he tells Thorfinn to not stay in a place like this. I believe that this hints that if he could do things differently he would have walked a different path. Instead he turned into what he hated. Go back and either re watch Ep 10 or read Chapter 20.

  11. the dagger drop is the best symbolic thing ive seen in anime for whats to come in next seasons
