High-rolling flippers taking baths with each other and current players. As a human, I laugh. As a collector, I buy dead-centered dead HOFers. Who are these people? Even the great Michael Jordan is still alive and he has the potential to do major damage to the value of his cards.
And still no WNBA players on the list—I'm gonna ask the fan what's going on.
In 5-10 years, hobbyists will laugh at the ridiculous, overinflated prices these modern cards sold for in the early 20’s..
6:29 if you look deeper at the 15 sales this year, it's almost certainly the same card being shilled and sold multiple times without a real buyer to make up the majority of those 15 "sales"

I feel that I have to send in my highest value cards to get graded with BGS now. But I wouldn't send any other cards in to get graded. Paying the $20 or $30 for BGS is guaranteed to skyrocket the price. This is a new thing for me to do.

I've decided that the modern card, limited-edition fetish just leaves me a bit cold. The hobby used to be about all of us pursuing something that we could all reasonably attain. Not criticizing the '1/1 culture' of modern cards… just don't feel connected to it.

Angry Boomer here….. I'd love to be in a position to throw money away on cardboard. 5 figure prospecting? Yeah right! The odds of these newbies becoming the next Brady, Jordan, or Gretzky is non existent!
I never understood the “value” in having the serial number match the players jersey number. I’ve always put more value or at least “coolness factor” on a card being either the first or the last one printed. Example if a card is numbered to 100 I would rather have 001/100 or 100/100 vs an arbitrary jersey number match.
That curry has some busted corners. Awful grade.

Chris,I have a question when you use Hoody's do you sell or have them auction off cards for you? I also have Yordan Alvarez rookies and a Bryce Harper number out of 5 along with one Alvarez out of 5 and a 1/1 all graded looking to sell these along with a 1/1 yellow printing plate Joe Dimaggio and 059/199 HONUS WANGER both ungraded.
The Nagurski card photo reminds me of Polk High wonder kid, Al Bundy, legendary player who ran for 4 TDs in one game.
