In this episode of Forgotten Ghibli, we take a closer look at My Neighbors The Yamadas. This classic gem about family, life, and everything in between, was written and directed by Isao Takahata in 1999. It’s funny and lighthearted, whilst simultaneously touching and poignant. Told as a series of short vignettes reminiscent of the original 4 panel comic (yon-ko-ma manga), Takahata used a deft hand in crafting this anthology of musings on living the loving, yet hectic family life.
