I think he should have confessed already, considering how they wrote these characters, I felt the series took way longer than needed to develop their relation. If the series was made just of episodes 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 11 and 12, those being the ones I had a bigger enjoyment and felt they actually had a strong and meaningful connection with each other, except for episode 1 that I just included because it explains when Ayumu plans to confess and episode 11 because it ties directly with episode 12.
