This was def an episode to watch with the gang cause of all those funny as scenes but u can never tell how crazy the episode gonna be. If I'm not mistaken, I believe tsurumi set up the whole kidnapping and he even knocked out the father from behind so he could be the hero to the kid as well and win the old man's trust and support. The kidnappers were prob his current men, and that might be why they had their faces hidden, also they prob killed those russian sailors once they were done with them or maybe earlier on so they could use their bodies later
Always with the right dose of comedy and action.
Despite the absence of Bad businessman Taylor, Durag strategist Terence, & Afro Von, the solo reaction was entertaining!
This backstory was great as expected & brought up so many memories from the past 3 seasons! If I'm not mistaken we saw or met Koito's father during the season 2 finale. I think Lt. Tsurumi got the ship from the general & mentioned something about Koito sailing on it. Sugimoto & the crew were on their way to Russia to get Asirpa back.
Another memory was when Tsurumi was running after the bike twice this episode. During season 1 ep. 4 Tsurumi's horse threw him off after being shot & he rolled in a ball then took off running the same way after Sugimoto & Asirpa!
Finally, seeing the General ride the unicycle after the bike was damaged reminded me of Koito riding the unicycle & doing acrobatics at the circus during season 3.
I knew that Tsurumi was going to be ridiculous, but I didn't expect General Koito to be that silly playing the guitar in his underwear. Did you notice that old man took off running fast after giving his cane to young Koito? His disability disappeared 🤣. I also thought about Yamazaki when I saw the Annpan. Gintama & Golden Kamuy both offer comedy & storytelling gold.
