Vinland Saga Season 2 will take a dramatic change of pace compared to Season 1. I’m sure when it comes to the story, many of you might not be familiar of the story progression of Thorfinn’s character so let’s break it down to what you can possibly expect out of VinlandSaga Season 2. Here I explain my reasons to why you might not like the next continuation fo Thorfinn’s journey as well as the possibility of a new studio taking over. I think im gonna start reading the manga. It looks great. And i always love it when media from different countries try to stay close to the real history of my ancestors. Especially because im a decendent of Alf Stenbakke. Den føverste viking der seilet halvegens til Ameriken.

Maaaaaan next year is gonna kick absolute ass when it comes to anime.
I have no problem with VInland Saga going less action and more introspective with the farm arc. In fact, having Thorfinn become a slave and have to find his purpose in life away from vengence and butchery is exactly what this story SHOULD have done. There's nothing wrong with that.
What's wrong with Vinland Saga is that the grander themes are immature and ridiculous. They always were, but the theme was subtle. This season will put it out front and center in all its triteness. It will develop its main character down that route, and then after he's realized "the correct way"… he will stagnate and fail to grow beyond that point. Because the writer is frankly too childish to conceptualize how the grander message here is stupid and that his main character needs to continue growing.
But what is that grander message? To put it bluntly: violence bad, weapons bad, war bad, just settle new land and create a paradise where no one can be bad! A true warrior never goes to war– despite war literally being in the name but we'll ignore that.
No really… that's it. Unironically. It's so stupid and fails to account for human nature and why things like violence and war happen or are even, yes sometimes, necessary. It's a childish viewpoint from a childish author, and it's weird she'd use historical figures like Thorfinn to iterate this message, when anyone who even does a cursory glance at history can look up what happened to the Viking colony in Vinland and how it went to war with the natives until it had to be abandoned.
Instead, Thorfinn continually beats every challenge he ever faces nonviolently by being more clever, more lucky, and more 'right' so that he always wins out against violent situations and opponents, even when realistically he SHOULD have to resort to violence, even to just defend himself and his loved ones. But no, he's the main character and he's walking the path of righteousness so he cannot ever be wrong or be allowed to lose, ever. So the story gets incredibly dull from this point on.

As long as the story and pacing is good then I’m all in. The action in season one was awesome but imo I wouldn’t re watch season 1 just for the action, it was sick but not the best I’ve seen ya know. So yeah im always here for a good story and character development over a ton of action.
I really wanna watch this show but I can't due to personal reasons. Loved the first few episodes.

The title of this vidya is the only thing that's disappointing.
They destroying Vinland saga for me. From my point of view Mappa ruins every anime they touch. I aswell started with vinland saga firstly because of the graphic style, the fights and the storyline. I as a consumer do not want to see some hipstertype dude in his farmlands learning about him self I wanted to see thorfin develop his character by fights and protecting others from war etc. . But nah mate they ruinin every anime nowdays like why tf would you change a working system if it was ment to be for a certain audiance . But thats only my opinion (and btw sry for typo. and bad english skills)

Gintama i tried gave it 4 episodes, show just seems like 1 one big filler so annoys and puts me off of the whole series it literally is a joke every episode

The War/Prologue arc is so fucking good, don't get me wrong, but this second arc, the Slave/Farmland arc is awsome for all the moments that happen here.

My main problem with vinland saga is that the first season is balls to the walls action with little progression for Thorfinn. The second Arc is litterally just character progression.
Instead of Berserk and Vagabond where there is deep character progression AND well choreographed gore going at the same time its like two completely separate pieces of media. It's just kind of jarring.
this is such an intensely stupid point of view.. like the only reason people watch is for the violence… as if things like world development and building, character development and the narrative itself has no value… seriously.. how shallow can you get.
Honestly I’m happy, Thorfinn not growing much throughout the show kind of irritated me. I’m glad season 2 has more character growth!

I caught up with the manga and tbh thorfinn changed completely which was kinda disappointing. I like that he is kind and caring but at the same time I didn't want him to loose his cool side. He went from sasuke to deku which was a bit unrealistic. I don't actually want him to turn like his father.
