7月にスタートする人気ゲーム「刀剣乱舞 －ONLINE－」が原作のテレビアニメ「活撃 刀剣乱舞」のPV。
同作は「Fate／Zero」などのufotable（ユーフォーテーブル）が制作するアニメで、これまで「刀剣乱舞（仮題）」として発表されてきたが、正式タイトルが決まった。「Fate／stay night ［Unlimited Blade Works］」などに参加してきた白井俊行さんが監督を務める。
「刀剣乱舞」は、名刀を擬人化した刀剣男士を育成しながら戦う人気ゲーム。“歴史修正主義者”による過去への攻撃が始まった西暦2205年が舞台で、刀剣男士の活躍を描いたテレビアニメ「刀剣乱舞－花丸－」が10～12月に放送された。
