I have been a fan of Takahashi Ryo’s work since his opening song for Acca13-ka kansatsu ka anime , Shadow and Truth. Void_chords is a project by Takahashi Ryo himself as the composer and performer for the Princess Principal project.
The OP themes are criminally good, the high jazz/funk influence and bold horn/strings section adds to the cool and mysterious element of the anime.
Princess Principal is another hidden gem and highly underrated anime. The title might mislead any viewer by thinking that this is another cute anime girls/slice of life series, but I was wrong. The concept of steampunk, espionage, and more mature topics is what makes it really stands out from other spies themed series. The animation by studio Actas is really beautiful and has a decent cgi when necessary.
I highly recommend this anime for anyone who likes James Bond/espionage themes.
