Annunzio Paolo Mantovani (1905-1980) is a British arranger and conductor.
A major feature of the Mantovani Orchestra is that the violin section is divided into about 4 parts, and a part of the melody is played by each violin part in turn to obtain a glittering effect like a waterfall (= cascading).
It is in a performance called “Cascading Strings”.
The tone made Mantovani a leader in easy listening for 40 years from the 1940s until his death.
