Following the lead of Canada, the United States is the latest country to turn off the taps to Russian oil and gas in response to the conflict in Ukraine.
But while Russian imports make up just a small fraction of energy supplies in North America, they are king in Europe.
But now the European Union is also gearing up to phase out Russian energy supplies in response to the war.
