I usually rely on ladybirds or ladybugs as natural predators of aphids, to prevent these pests from becoming too much of a problem for the vegetable plants in the gardens. But this year they were not around as expected, even though there was a huge population of aphids in one of my polytunnels. But then I inadvertently solved the problem.
