I was at Black Duck Lagoon at around 7am and it was already 29 degrees and very muggy, but still managed to photographed 19 different types of birds while at the lagoon. Black Duck Lagoon is separated by a road leading into the North Quarter Estate and most of the birds that I saw and photographed were in the northern section of the lagoon.
Black Duck Lagoon is located in Murrumba Downs about a 35 minutes’ drive from Brisbane, and the lagoon hold a variety of wildlife that call the area and its surrounding bushland reserve home. A photography walk around the lagoon takes about an hour and best times for wildlife is early morning as the lagoon faces north and the walk track is on the eastern side of the lagoon, so in the afternoon you’ll have the sun facing you as you try and take photos of the wildlife.
