NULL is a Serial Experiments Lain inspired song that explores the differences between our “online” selves and our “real world” selves. Sometimes, the version of ourselves we portray online may seem incongruent with how we act in real life. In Serial Experiments, we see such a diversion happen to the main character, Lain.
In our day and age, I thought it was very appropriate to present this idea in NULL, and found the subject very relatable in both uplifting and negative ways. Essentially, we are all Lain and there is no true version of yourself.
Just remember: It doesn’t have to feel so empty. You do not have to be alone. 🙂
