Jujutsu Kaisen (呪術廻戦) is a dark fantasy series that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018. The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high schooler who enters a world of curses and sorcery after unsealing a powerful “Cursed Object.” The series concluded in September 2024.The Jujutsu Kaisen manga has surpassed 100 million copies in circulation.

Because of the suspension, Kirara is largely disconnected from the rapidly deteriorating state of the jujutsu world. During this period, Kirara assists Hakari in managing an underground gambling fight ring known as the Gachinko Fight Club, where Hakari acts as the bookmaker.
This setting becomes Kirara’s main stage prior to the Culling Game, showcasing their abilities primarily through defense, surveillance, and battlefield control rather than direct combat.
Appearance, Gender, and Identity
Kirara Hoshi has a gyaru-inspired fashion style, complete with piercings and a feminine appearance. At first glance, Kirara appears female, but in the original manga (Chapter 154), Panda explicitly reveals that Kirara is biologically male.
Kirara’s middle school appearance was more traditionally masculine, but by their first on-screen appearance, their look is entirely feminine.
