Picking up from the previous video, please enjoy the behind-the-scenes of the live-action explosion filming! Next explosion, Linen and Silk It was very challenging to sculpt Linen’s beard, to make it work out how it looked from the front and from the side The swirls on the front and the V-shape points on the side, making those two work out from the front and side view was very difficult and while sculpting, I got worried so I double-checked if it was okay to sculpt his private parts I wonder what the broadcasting station is gonna do about that…are they actually going to broadcast it? Everyone looks satisfied while checking the replay The private part survived completely as part of the debris -We need to preserve this
-Yeah, and the slit on this is perfect! Can’t show you this here but it is meticulously crafted! Next is the statue of Ramie This will be hanged, and it will explode while swinging For this shoot, we are going to try a true low-angle shot! The camera will be set right underneath, filming upwards. -I think the screen will immediately be covered in white
-I’m pretty excited, a world we have never seen before -Pretty cool
-Is this correct?
-But the background…it shows the real sky and trees
-I think we can slip this footage in This is the footage of the low-angle shot And lastly, Panty and Stocking! I had no idea what was going on with Panty’s hair just by looking at the drawings, so I made it exactly like the toy figures I used as reference and some of the parts were very angular, so I focused on that aspect carefully For further refinements, on the spot adjustments are made, under Koyama-san’s instructions I wanted the facial expressions to be more clearly visible I wanted to adjust it to match Imaishi’s rough drawings For a perfect blast, cuts and slits are added to the dolls Since it’s the explosion of our two main characters, the director decided on the spot to set up additional cameras -Here you go Imaishi, my new iPhone 15 Pro, please use it as you wish I’m going to place it right in the most dangerous spot My iPhone, go capture some great shots from the front lines! Setup is complete, everyone is ready, but then… The sun peeked out from the clouds, so the tree’s shadows appeared clearly on the dolls and background. So we must wait until the sun hides into the clouds again Wow…live-action filming is really a tough job! Waiting for the clouds to hide the sun for a hour and a half… No tree shadows! The chance has come! -Wow!
-Found the face Whew, I’m glad the explosion went well My iPhone, thanks for heroically capturing shots from the front line -please take a look at my iPhone, who fought bravely

-you fought well, well done This is the footage from my iPhone I’m glad Imaishi is pleased! And so, the live-action explosion filming has successfully wrapped up! -No accidents, no injuries, splendid!
-and the weather was nice too Too good that we had to wait for the clouds to hide the sun But still, way better than rain, so glad it didn’t rain!
I guess everyone here is blessed with good luck Our staff from TRIGGER was able to participate too and we were able to learn a lot from the live-action filming crew, especially the passion to film a shot successfully I think this experience will guide our studio’s young staff in the future I’m glad it didn’t rain this time, because the previous shoot(for the prequel 14 years ago) it rained and the cameras shots have evolved from last time too,
and we were able to shoot more angles thanks to iPhones so please enjoy the show! We were able to film a lot of challenging shots! Hi I’m the son of the cameraman, 20 years old! -So when the prequel aired…
-I was 6 years old!
-WOW!! -Did you have fun?
-Yeah, this shoot was filled with every boy’s dreams I grew up watching a lot of tokusatsu, so it was awesome! -All right, we got through the filming! I think we were able to learn the importance of the concept, “Only one shot” Because recently creating art in digital is more mainstream, and we can undo and redo everything anytime we want So able to experience the tension of a shot that only has one chance, the sculptures, the explosives, everything, if something goes wrong, it will be over Every shot was captured by camera on that exact moment due to everyone’s hard work and the perfect environment surrounding it, so I think that sense of pressure can be felt from the actual film too So to make this joke scene, people are sweating and working super hard to make it successful, and I wish the viewers will laugh at the gap, like “All this for this!?” These explosion scenes are made by people with extraordinary abilities Yeah, and I don’t want to add special effects on the live-action shots, I want to deliver it as raw as possible So please watch the scenes over and over again! What I thought while working was…I still have much more potential! I can do so much more!! and I want to challenge myself even more!!! From my perspective, I think the concept of drawing and animation has no limitations I think the creators are able to express their images directly, that’s my personal opinion But filming live-action is a whole different thing, well we sometimes use CGI so we might be getting closer to the animation world, but literally, like using explosions, we can’t do that anywhere we want So it’s fun, but I feel it’s very challenging to film under these physical boundaries and limitations But I just want to say that if someone is up to this challenge, please don’t hesitate to approach us! Also I need to add the fact that most of the people in this industry are seniors, there’s only a few young people -So if someone watches this show, and becomes interested to the tokusatsu industry,
like exploding things while filming live-action,

    However, Yoh Yoshinari had actually wanted to create a sequel to Little Witch Academia back in 2015. The second film, The Enchanted Parade, which we're most familiar with, was his ideal sequel. After the film's release, he resigned as character designer. However, Trigger, unwilling to let go of this lucrative project, wanted to continue making money. So, in October 2025, Yoh Yoshinari was brought back to develop a new film set in the same world as Little Witch Academia.

    飛び散るリンネルち〇こｗ　まぁー芸術品なら修正されないわけだしね、　パンティの前髪はバナナだと認識している　造形物を使った実写ってのはこれからも残して欲しい

    アニメの実写爆破シーンってそもそもなんだよ？って話ではあるけど、2期まで15年いい子で待ってたらこういう特典動画も見せて貰えるんだよね。

    The live action scenes in Gridman, this… I look forward to when Trigger just decides to make their own tokusatsu series
