A Dark Lord Raises the Kid Who Can Kill Him

You’ve seen Dark Lords command armies and layways to kingdoms. But have you ever seen one completely stand by a baby? That is the brilliantly bizarre and surprisingly funny premise of Clevatus, an anime that begins as a classic fantasy epic before subverting every expectation. A brave company of knights embarks on a quest to defeat Clevas, one of the four great dark lords with the only artifacts capable of harming this formidable monster, the secret regalia. Unfortunately, they charge into battle only for Cleverest to annihilate them. Cleverest has far beyond their comprehension, wiping out the knights and later the entire city in a merciless rampage. Amid the rubble of the city he just destroyed, Cleverest finds a survivor pleading with him to save a helpless baby. In a move no one could have predicted, the all powerful dark lord agrees to raise the child himself as an unorthodox experiment to understand his enemies. With no idea of how to care for a child, he takes the most logical step a dark lord can. Resurrecting one of the very knights he killed, Alicia Glenfall, to reluctantly care for the baby. This baby named Lula is actually a member of the royal family from the city he destroyed. Her bloodline is the only one capable of forging weapons that can kill him. And all of this happens in the first episode.

Can a Dark Lord be a dad? 🍼 Clevatess is a powerful Dark Lord who suddenly becomes a clueless parent after a knight he defeated pleads with him to save a baby. He decides to raise the child himself, unknowingly taking in the one person who could be his undoing. What do you think of this premise?
