That Anime Show: New Panty And Stocking With Garterbelt Episode 9
What’s going on, guys? Welcome to another episode for Penny and Sucking season 2. Uh, this is episode nine, and with me as always, I have Blue Spade. Yeah. Well, okay. So, this this is like this is I think this is the most we’ve seen like the Angel Brothers um ever ever since they were introduced. I mean, we we only barely get to see like, you know, see them maybe in one skit here or there, but they’ve been like all all three skits. But it’s just in terms of like their in their overall involvement, it’s just I don’t I don’t know. And plus they they have this weird schedule that they keep to themselves saying like you know that there are times when they should kill Ghost or go after Penny and Stocking and then when they’re off the clock they have you know they can just do what you know they can just laz about relax and do whatever they want which is kind of weird. I’m guessing that they’re kind of like meant to be replacements for like the demon sisters, I guess, from season 1 in terms of like them being I guess like villains, but but yeah, they don’t really do anything in in terms of like, you know, actually being villains in this episode. They just kind of like, you know, they just kind of get into goofy situations. Yeah. Uh I mean, okay, so like the first skit it was was mostly it’s it’s just mainly just a stalking episode. Um, so she so what she’s doing is like she she gets in line to compete in this rock paper scissors tournament uh to win like a limited edition like uh I I think what do they call those? Like it’s not it’s like almost like a mochi. Yeah, something like that. Like almost like a sweet uh sweet I don’t know like mochi like style paste something like that. But she ends up losing like like pretty much all the rock paper scissors uh you know games and like you know she’s come she come she comes across a ticket to win the last one there but no like she comes across like a ghost um I guess is like who manifests itself because you know I think all the ghosts were like uh like just past I guess losers of the game And they were Yeah. Yeah. Past losers of the game that never won won this mochi thing. And and of course um stalking like you know fights tries to fight them all all herself but she realizes you know you know she she lacks like the weaponry to Yeah. Because there’s like 100 million of them that show up. Yeah. So, she summons well, she calls the gunsmith girl that we see back in the pre one of the previous episodes to to sell her like like a special like sword like stocking weapon that she uses to vanquish the ghost horde. And then and then of course like you know um the you know she she get she gets the you know the mochi uh you know a after beating the ghost but then like you know the gunsmith girl comes in like she says like the all the coins that uh you know that that’s being used after she killed the ghost is not enough payment for whatever reason. So she she eats the last mochi as part of her payment before stocking can try it. But what what really sucks is like she tries it and then just spits it out. Yeah. Afterwards, which is kind of messed up. Yeah. Uh yeah, I it was it was a pretty funny segment. Um and then like you said, like the next the next segment focuses again on the Angel Brothers. Um, but this time like, well, I guess you could say they were kind of up to something slightly villainous in this in this episode because they try to like uh sneak into uh Py and Stockings house. Uh, and they they each of the of the brothers like go into each of their rooms. Like one of them goes into Panty’s room, the other goes into Stockings. And so the one of the brothers like when like I mean each of the rooms basically is fitting of their personality I guess like with Fanny being I guess you’d say you know obsessed with sex like it her room is full of that kind of thing and also she’s just kind of a slob. Um so her room is also like full of trash. Uh but you know and then of course Stocking’s room has a bunch of sweets everywhere. Um, and one of the brothers just gets caught up on this, you know, the weird that like panny’s like weird like spinning bed that has a bunch of these like of course like sex like just sex things attached to it. Um and uh it well so with each of the brothers like like w with with one of the brothers it’s brief that’s somehow fooled by uh with one brother that because he puts on like panty’s dress that he thinks it’s actually her and then like the demon sisters come into the uh stockings room and I guess because like stockings dress is kind of like uh like kind of like somewhat near the the other brother like They’re I I guess of course somehow con think that it’s actually stalking us. Okay. So like I I would understand that Brief would be stupid enough stupid enough to think that one of the brothers looks like Penny, but I find it hard to believe that the demon sisters couldn’t catch on to this either. Yeah. I mean, you would think that they’d be a little bit smarter than that, but I I guess odd because well, well, not only them, but also I guess Garter Belt is also just fooled by them because they just they all think that they’re just Penny and Stalking. Yeah. So, um, well, we get we forgot to mention that like the reason why Penny and Stalking are not there is because the Yeah, because like they they’re off distracted uh by, you know, by the, you know, the the the Angel Brothers like I guess like they they they lured them into like the these weird like like sewers. I wouldn’t say like mannequins. They’re just almost like cardboard cutouts of them like saying like that just randomly just pop up left and right in front of them and saying, “Oh, the ghost is over there. The ghost is over here. The ghost over there.” And then like it’s enough to like to distract Penny and stalking from just like literally just following the their paths like everywhere to the point where they, you know, just going go down to the stew sewers. Um, you know, getting irritated the point like not knowing where the ghost is. Uh while while of course the the Angel brothers are like are still over at their house like having having dinner with you like you know with everybody else including the demon sisters. Yeah. Um yeah, I thought that was another like I I I did like that segment. Uh even though like it just got really it it was kind of like it just got kind of stupid with like you know the I mean obviously it’s a joke but I mean it’s just like how I mean yeah like you said I could understand maybe brief being fooled but the demon sisters being fooled just kind of seems a little bit out of character like how would they be fooled by the like they’re not even really trying with the disguise or anything. So I don’t know. Um, but then of course speaking of the demon sisters, the next segment focuses on also focuses like mainly on the demon sisters and is also kind of like um I guess you would say somewhat of a parody of of 16 candles. Also the the last segment with the the brothers was a reference to of was a reference to Home Alone. Um, but then this segment’s a reference to that old like 80s movie 16 candles, but in this one it’s like 600 666 candles of course because demons. Um, so it’s like the I guess in this segment it’s um Nissox’s 666th birthday and she wants uh she basically is I guess uh like her sister like she thinks her sister I guess forgot about her birthday or something. Uh and she’s upset about it. Um, and basically like her and her and Panty like Panty hears about this party that’s being thrown and she decides to uh take knee socks to like the both of them go to dress up and and go to this party. Yeah. And of course uh Yeah. And of course al along the way while while they’re enjoying the party well of of course Penn penny and these socks have a dance together uh dur during this party and then um and then Penny gets another call from Brief saying like there’s something going on and which they get attacked by this uh you know by this ghost that you know they’re that ends up like eating several people in uh in the party including the Angel Brothers in which uh they come across this ghost but then they don’t attack it because they’re, you know, they’re once again on break, but you know, and then soon afterwards um uh what was it? The go ghost ends up like uh breaking Nissok’s glasses, which is one of, you know, her first birthday presents from uh from her sister Scanny, which of course was enough to piss her off to the point where like, you know, she ends up killing uh the ghost herself. And and to to everyone’s surprise, she finds out that uh it turns out that Nissox didn’t really forget uh her sister’s birthday. Rather like, you know, Nissan Scanny didn’t forget. Oh, yeah. Scanny like was um SC Scanny like never really forgot her birthday. She she um accidentally came across this ghost and she was like uh eaten by the ghost. same as like you know um same same thing with stalking and the angel brothers. Yeah. So so yeah. So you know uh Scanny makes it up to Denise socks by giving her her uh new birthday present which is uh a brand new pair of glasses and of course they they end up uh they end up making up a after the episode and that’s pretty much it. Yeah. Um I I don’t know. I liked all the segments in in this episode. Um, of course there another episode without really any kind of like I mean no real like you know plot progression or anything like that. It was mostly just more skits. Um, but at least like yeah, we have more involvement from the Angel Brothers in the skits. Um, but yeah, I thought they were all pretty good. I I thought the references to some of the those like movies were pretty funny. Um, and I also like that it focuses a little bit more on the Demon Sisters, too, because they they haven’t really gotten like a lot of focus. Um, or at least they haven’t really had a skit that was sort of like Well, they have had some skits, but like not like a skit that sort of like was mostly just about them. Yeah. I mean, there was that one other demon uh sister skit in which um you know, Sandy and Nox were like were trying to deal with like this uh this ghost making buildings out of sushi into sushi or something like that. Uh but yeah, I thought it was like, you know, this was a decent episode, uh featuring the two demon sisters in the episode. Um so yeah, I I did, you know, I thought this was this was another okay episode. Uh like this time featuring a little bit more of the of the of Angel Brothers for for once, but in terms of like them being antagonist, like I I really don’t really see them as much antagonist. just like just two random goofballs just like try, you know, trying to get get in the way of um you know, panning and stopping. Yeah. Um I mean it seems like there is some kind of like there is something going on with that one guy they were reporting to in the that one episode. I’m I’m sure that’ll come up at some point, but yeah, so far it just seems like they’re Yeah, they’re just like just really you can’t really take them seriously. like they’re just sort of they’re just uh they’re not really trying that hard to really like take Penny and Stalking out or anything. They’re just sort of like if anything just kind of trying to inconvenience them for the most part. Uh yeah, yeah, that’s that’s pretty much what it is. Like they’re more of an inconvenience to panty and stocking rather than they just want to straight up destroy them or whatever whatever it is. Yeah. Uh but yeah, I don’t really have much else to say about the episode. I don’t know if you have anything else to say. Yeah, it was it was a good episode. Um, yeah, I mean it’s it’s still it’s more or less like like I said, it’s it’s more or less the same with every other uh Penny and Stocking episode of we’ve seen in which like you know we we see like these random skits and seeing like these I guess you could say like these random misadventures of uh of our main characters dealing with one thing after another.
