What is up, guys? Back again today with more Fragrant Flower Blossoms with Dignity. This time with episode 9, I think it was a good episode last week. Um, not my favorite episode so far. I did prefer the last few that we had before that. Um, for the kind of drama side of things, but it was a nice little date. I did especially enjoy the first five minutes or so with Subu and Saka actually apologizing. Thought that was a really lovely scene. But yeah, looking forward to see what got here. Oh, subtitle is a little small and they’re weirdly I don’t know if I I think I might have said this last about subtitles. The subtitles are not um they’re like bad quality like not they like they’re like 180p for example. I think this happened last week to me as well where I decided to watch it. Should be able to deal with it. But um if you guys know I uh I like my subtitles big and bold so it’s easy to read and pay attention to the visuals as well. But why is that? Why is the show like it looks really good quality, but um why are the subtitles bad quality of all things? Was like cam ripped subs. Yeah, Japan really ain’t built for tall people, is it? Never been there myself. I need to go at some point, but u just judging from the like average size of people and the doorways there as we saw really not too friendly to tall people I assume which you could say like well it’s it’s not a thing in Japan I don’t think but you get all that stuff about like um body positivity and acceptedness and um being able to have everybody be able to like enter a building or climb stairs and or use a lift for example like overweight people or disabled people. Um and that’s quite a big thing in the UK and America and such. So seems like they care about that a little bit less in Japan. Maybe not to like the disabled people and such, but like again tall people be accommodating to tall people, fat people, small people. Yeah. Bowser switch uniforms, too. I mean, you always see that in the Persona games. There’s always like 10 uniforms. Must be expensive. At my high school was literally one uniform pretty much the whole time I was there. I think it did change once. Style changed like once but like two outfits for like five, six years. Whereas as again as we see here, Japan seem seems like they change every season. I think. So close yet so far. Okay. Does that We’re going to use that saying here. Does that not insist upon itself your feelings? Does that not say did you need to add any more to that? It that sentence could have just been my feelings and it would have said the same thing, right? My feelings affect me the most. Yeah, they can affect other people, but like come on. What we doing here? Don’t think so. Guess it’s not scary and big. It’s small and sweet. But it’s like that opposite attracts things like it does fit in because it is the opposite of what you’d expect. again to bring up Persona. Persona 4 KJI quite similar. You know, he does look a little bit like him as well. Not facial wise, but just like the hair and the and the school uniform, of course, but like 90% of [ __ ] anime characters wear school uniform. So yeah, I don’t know if I’ll be able to live a good life if my parents owned a cake shop. Cake shop. Just cuz I’d certainly be eating a lot of cake. That would be terrible for my snacking habits. Sorry, guys. should have he missed the opportunity. Should have said the sister you are you his sister always uh always goes over well. safe one as well because if it is actually the sister and you called uh the sister mom, they would not be you would instantly go in the bad books with the sister. Whereas if you say, “Oh, you’re a sister.” Initially, you both flatter at a mother and get it correct if it is the sister. That’s good for you, man. Finally get to meet the friends. A lot of cooks here, isn’t there? Quite the operation for such a small shop or like is this is this I’m no business expert. I did study business, but I’m no restaurant cake shop expert, but surely this is over staffed, right? I’d assume small shop. I mean, this is a big size store to be fair. We never really see it awaren. But I don’t think we’ve ever seen anyone else. Maybe a couple people, but it’s not doesn’t seem awfully busy. But um they must be well off because they got a nice place here. It’s quite it’s quite a lot. It’s quite a big cake shop and they can hire four staff for three and then you include the mom. But that’s quite a lot of staff for a small bakery, right? It seems pretty well off. Just Oh crap. which is especially surprising considering the whole school situation and then your center up here. Definitely the first time any of these guys have been into a boy’s room, isn’t it again? Sorry guys, my A hay fever is just starting to kick in right now. The worst time. Been fine all day. Sniffy. Wow. Now I wonder what you would have thought as his mom about what she said initially. I wish I had my toilet That’s nice. That’s nice for you. She want look a little bit more special for this situation. Cheers. Oh, that looks lovely, doesn’t it? That looks lovely. Why are the This look weird. We just like push these things. I mean, I know they’re different levels, but we’re not like weird. It’s almost like a school situation. So close yet so far. It’s going to sound bad, but I don’t think many at all Asian people are born with blonde hair. I mean, it doesn’t sound bad. It’s just a fact. Um, I don’t think there’s I don’t think there’s zero, but there really isn’t many at all people in Asia born with blonde hair, is there? Um, and I imagine the ones that are are a genetic um like freak uh saying freak sounds bad, but you know what I’m saying like a freak kind of accident almost like in in the genetics department. It’s not because of well maybe if they um have a baby with someone of a different ethnicity that could happen quite easily but just like two Asian parents the only way they could have blonde hair is some kind of some kind of crazy genetic mutation or something. So I think whenever you do see an Asian person with blonde hair, you always assume it’s died. That’s just like a given. This place even bigger, even more fancy. Got to say again, the food looks lovely this episode, doesn’t it? better than many cooking shows I’ve seen. A blond dude. So, you just copied this guy’s whole style. What you say? You just copied this random guy’s whole style. Guess kids do that though. More so to their like heroes. I mean, would you have some random cookie? I mean, I don’t care how much you like cake. Would that guy be your hero right off the bat like that? Not likely. But like you see that little like kids with like sports stars and stuff like you dress like them, get a haircut like them and stuff. So, it’s understandable. But pretty weird to do that to the random chef that served you a nice cake. Do you see many Oh, you probably do. I was going to say, do you see many people impersonating Gordon Ramsay or Jamie Oliver or anything? Personally, no. But probably somewhere. Oh, he went so deep. Don’t need don’t need to share that much. Why did he trauma dump on us like that? I mean, that wasn’t a trauma dump, was it? But something similar. I love that [ __ ] video. 8 in thick. That’s the thing about this. Like, it’s all too good. It’s all too nice. Everyone’s too perfect. Everyone’s Everyone’s too like the drama’s always so small because everything’s so perfect. I don’t want to be that guy. But it is unrealistic. I don’t want to be that guy because anime shouldn’t be realistic. But like when you are trying to make a bit of a down to earth romantic story like this. Yeah. No one’s life’s this perfect. Sneaky, sneaky monkey. be done the same cuz her son did. That’s really nice. I like that from her. Want to support her son in a in a physical manner like this? Have they just done that by themselves at home? Isn’t there like couldn’t you get like infections and stuff with that? I’ll definitely if I was to do that, I’d definitely go to professional. Jesus, how the [ __ ] would you feel hearing that from your son? That’s lovely from her, isn’t it? Do we So, I might have missed something, but do we know why she do we know why he said that? I’ve given up on everything. Like, what was that in context to? So, about what I said a minute ago about everything being too perfect and good. I mean, this scene is literally quite instantly like contradicted what I said there. But, have we seen any more of this situation? I don’t think so. Right. There there certainly is more. There certainly is what I again what I hope for and that it wasn’t all just like perfect and the dramas are so um small and almost non-consequential. Um yeah, again this kind of seems to contradict that. Looks like we’re going to get a bit more of that here, which as you guys have been hearing, very much looking forward to seeing. Oh, [ __ ] hell. Sorry, guys. Um, what what makes you say that at such a young age and make because of how kids treat you because of how you look? Well, I I think I literally mentioned earlier, I don’t know if it was yesterday, but I I personally went through a very similar thing. I didn’t feel this like too much in this way about it. Yes, it made me feel different and um I wanted friends, want to be popular like any kid does and stuff, but um yeah, I wasn’t as much of a doomer I guess. Yeah, honestly, I can relate to that quite a lot. I think I said that since day one. I can kind of relate to I always looked older like when I was like 14 15 I was always the guy think one of the reasons I did have some friends and stuff was cuz um I was able to like buy alcohol and stuff cuz I look like an adult when I was younger. I’d be buying all the alcohol for the parties and stuff. But yeah, I like this. I really like this look into his mom to be honest with you. That’s really nice. And I think that especially shines a light on how good a mum she is. Soon as we saw her with that hair and that piercing, I was like, “Damn, she’s really like she’d just do that for our son like that.” Not many parents would. And the fact that she’s like still like dying and like Yeah. respect respect mom big time. Yeah, I need some more moments like that. That was really enlightening. And again, it makes it more relatable to me. Probably a bit more specifically than other people, but I think other people can probably relate in different ways. Get emotional. We’re getting old. No, I don’t think so. I think your son’s getting older. What that deal is that starting to realize more things. What’s important? Yeah, that was really nice. Especially that second half. I really like that. Again, does show that there is I just I do still wish we get more of it. But um because yeah, as I said, I very much relate. I I mentioned this in quite I don’t mention it all the time or anything, but in another video this week, I had a mustache when I when I was in my like first year of high school and people would like call me Mexican. And I think it was very obvious that people looked at me in a um not really sure how to best explain it, but I wasn’t like you wouldn’t look at me and just like look like a another kid you got to make friends with. It was like it’s the Mexican. It’s the uh Yeah. and obviously didn’t feel great especially from like the older students and such first year of high school but um yeah I can very much relate to that and then that ended up kind of becoming a thing of later on in high school I actually got quite popular which was because of that I maybe looked a bit older and it was like not attractive and not desirable initially and then as you got kind of older it did kind of become like, oh, he’s he’s he’s way too old looking when you’re younger and it’s like, oh, he’s a he’s he’s mature above his years after a few years. It’s like, it’s crazy how the kind of social constructs and such work when you think how people’s like opinions kind of change over time and stuff like that after like just a few years. So, um yeah, very relatable episode for me to be honest with you. Um, I wouldn’t have like, yeah, just a lot I can relate to there. And again, there’s probably ways other people can relate in like different ways. Maybe if they didn’t look scary or something. Um, probably other things that you can kind of slightly relate to with the situation. But maybe that’s why I want to see that’s why these things aren’t quite as impactful for me at the moment because I want to deeply explore that a bit more. We got bits and pieces of it here today like with this nice little trip to the uh cafe. We’ll say these little glimpses at his past and especially it was more of a focus on his mother supporting him today than it was on Reno’s kind of actual backstory, wasn’t it? But I think they’ve done a really good job at it and that’s the other thing like they’ve proved they can do good jobs when they do focus on the drama, the story like with the Subaru stuff before that was done really well. Um we just again personally I want more focus on it because they do a really good job at it. I want to see I want to see it done more. I want to see more of these moments. Um but yeah, again relatable episode for me. Like this one a lot. I think as we see more I will like character more and more and more as well which is um I say a rarity but I do find quite often that the you the usual kind of main lead for a romance show is usually your very generic black hair student like could be anyone type of character. And that’s usually not really kind of um it’s like it’s made to be relatable and such, but it ends up being like just a cliche and a stereotype. So, they’re not actually awfully relatable or you don’t like him nearly as much as the rest of the cast. But I think this show can very much uh completely turn that around if you know what I’m saying because he is very different because he does actually stand out in a bad way which again is relatable to me maybe relatable for um maybe like nerds for example like they don’t stand out but when they do stand out it’s because of their kind of um it is in a bad light or whatever. Maybe that is kind of relatable as well. Who knows? But um yeah really good uh really good second half there. I especially like that quite a lot. Looks like we’re playing some kind of game here. Hopefully not FIFA. Absolute scam of a [ __ ] I don’t know Mario Kart. That is quite surprising. I wouldn’t have expected her to be much of a gamer considering the amount of studying I imagine she’d be doing and so on. No time for games. Sounds romantic. Why not? Why not? We got to be careful. I mean, if Yeah, that’s the thing. along with this. I was going to say I don’t I was going to say they got to be careful not to be seen in any like libraries or anything, but I I assume that the study group would just be maybe like roundro or something something private like this. Um still they got to be careful though cuz uh the boys only just found out he lives at this cafe cake shop. Um, but if anybody else does and they see the girls like Waggery already goes there like semifrequently, but if they see Waggery and especially with the attention the girls get over the series, like we’ve seen them being harassed by men multiple times. Um, yeah, people start like putting together like, “Oh, you know what? I see them going there quite a lot.” And then they they just like have interest and you pay attention to a bit more. And then you pay attention, you’re like, “Oh yeah, you know what? Those boys going there quite a lot as well.” add one and one together, what do you get? You get this whole scandal. Though it shouldn’t be a scandal. It’s like so normal. Uh but just in terms of the scores and stuff, it would be a scandal and it is a dangerous situation. So they certainly have to be careful about that. I think as as bad as it sounds, I think they I know it’s only just started, but they need to like cut down. They they’re probably expected to study together quite often, go on these beach trips. So, I think they need to make these things a little bit of a slight rarity because if not, the chances of being found do multiply, which is not good. But, um, yeah, again, lovely episode. Like, the first half was all right. Just kind of setting up this second half where we do get a look into a little bit of RO’s backstory, which was really nice. Again, I’ve been clamoring away at the fact that it all kind of feels a bit hollow so far. So, I really like these things that actually do kind of um give more volume to the story. And I think this was especially really well done. And like I said, like I said earlier, I want to see more of it because it is well done when they do do it. Renro’s mom here kind of supporting our son like that. I thought it was really powerful, really lovely to see. Love to see her reactions as well now that he’s like able to say all this to his friends and kind of release that information whereas he wasn’t even in a position to make friends few years back. Um, and yeah, again, may maybe I enjoyed this more than most because it is quite a personal kind of um relatable one to me. But, uh, and that that will probably just be a thing that sticks even more going forward. So, um, I’m hoping we get to explore that even more in the future. Um, but yeah, let me know what you guys thought about this one in the comments.
