GREAT Dubbing! – CITY: The Animation (Dub) | Episode 8 Reaction

Hello everyone and welcome back to City the Animation. Today we’re doing episode 8. Excuse me. Um, so also today is is a is a special day cuz if you’ve watched these videos, you know I take notes while I’m um while I’m watching the episodes. Now, I was taking notes in this notebook beforehand, right? And I haven’t had this notebook for very long. Um I’m I’m not that far into it, but um and so like I’ve been taking notes. You know, most of it is blank. But the problem is I’ve actually stopped using this notebook now because it has like these serrated edges on each page. And because of that, all of the pages are ripping out. Like so whenever I flip through the notes, the pages are just constantly coming out. It’s really really annoying. So um instead, I’ve got like a a bigger book. I mean, I kind of just took whatever we had. I got a bigger book. Um, and I’m going to be starting taking notes in this book. Problem is it’s much bigger than the books I’m used to. Maybe I’ll end up liking that more. Maybe I’ll end up hating that. I don’t know. We’ll find out in this episode. So, this the reason I’m saying it in this video is this is going to be the first uh show that I’m watching with this big book in hand. So, uh yeah, hopefully hopefully it won’t be too cumbersome. Um, but anyway, uh, we’re just going to There’s not much to talk about at the intro of a city, the animation video. Anyway, it’s a funny, great show. Let’s just get right into it. Almost every name you can think of is taken already, but you still want to pick a great name you really like. So, we got to decide soon. Oh my god. putting so much pressure on yourself. There were so many. Then I got a better idea. Give me a list of your favorite foods. Bronto pickles smoked. Duck noodle. Yoku mo smoked icon pickles exists. Quick monster. Look it up. See if he’s Look it up. Here. It’s so lame. Duck noodle yoku smoked daon pickles is taken. What? But it sucks. Then maybe Smoke Pickle School. There is a band with name. That’s not bad. There is. Oh my god. Okay, then start saying other band names you’d want. Mr. Chocolate Pumpkins. Is that available? Negative. The Piscator Empire. No good. The Dora Yakis. Go take it. The possibility it already exists is there, but I thought of an excellent name. Okay. What? Your birthday falls during the Oon holiday. Yeah. Oban is a jovial day. So Oban is a jovial day. Bonjovi. Bonjovi. Oh, that’s genius. Guess I got to borrow some money. That’s That’s so funny. What a good punch line. The two of us will start a revolution. Tickets to the play this evening for me and her. Great seeds, too. Okay. Hope I’m not wrong, but I likes me. I know the signs are there. I don’t know. Make tonight a first date. She smiles like that at everyone. Come on, Tatiwaku. Tick tock. Move it. Call her now and set the damn thing up. Not good. I don’t have her phone number. None of my clothes are appropriate for a date. A, he’s going shopping. It’ll be impossible to remain likable with supermarket DOS’s crappy 500 t-shirts. It’s from a so-called boutique if I stand any chance of making this work. All right, go get yourself a Oh, breaking open the piggy bank. Grab a boutique. It’s cool. Everyone’s dressed like an anime character. Better than I’d hoped. Why? I guess just cuz it’s supposed to be like great fashion, right? I can’t go in there. Not in these clothes. outside of embarrassment. I mean, that’s why you’re going in there to get clothes. What a dilemma. Mom put all my good clothes in the laundry, so I’m wearing this. You don’t need to justify it out loud. I told her I was, but she didn’t listen. Mom’s say it out loud. If I Mom’s fault, everyone around me will be like, “Ah, I’d be there.” Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. 4,000 yen. How is this? Oh my god, that’s awful. That’s expensive because it’s on display. Three cheeks are expensive. And this and this and this and this. Let’s go to an op shop. Jesus, man. It’s like a Junji thing. Hello there. Can I help you find a t-shirt? A I love the character designs in this show. Sure. Well, in that case, what do you think about this one? That’s trash. Just got this in. It’s literally trash. I’ll start prepping now. Oh, his his shirt, right? Deployment. That was such a cool way to show the mind moving out of the way. I’m kind of in a hurry here. The transformation of a loner for his first date. That t-shirt you’ve got on right now. Oh, is he going to say rock? Okay. Yeah. What a nice compliment. I thought maybe the I don’t know. Should you trust your dad? Now, if you’ll excuse me, go ask out my lady. For her, I don’t think overall look does leave a bit to be desired. Pelicans, listen up. Bet on. When it comes to romance, I’m a novice. But let me easy. This Yoko brother’s t-shirt, obviously. Oh, don’t laugh at him. Trying to get them not to laugh. That’s so funny. Them slapping each other to not laugh. Laughing. If you’re really going to wear that. Oh my god. It makes sense. I love it. I don’t think the girl would care what he looks like. She doesn’t seem like the type to even pay attention to what he looks like at all. Got it. I’ll be right over. Oh my god, it’s a judge from Ace Attorney. All right. He looks homeless. They’re going to think he’s a beggar. Let’s go. I’m honestly I’m very nervous for him right now. The cops got his gun at the ready. It might be a taser gun. I don’t know. Is she coming out? Yeah, she is. Oh, a hello there. She spoke. She doesn’t speak very often. Oh, come on. Shoot your shot, man. To me. Okay, let’s go over the plan again. Oh, look at that glaze. See his outfit in a positive light? Nope. No one. He’ll bury bor like big time. No question. A So, our strategy now has to be this. We go out and find him, then turn common sense on its head. Matsuri. Oh, what’s Tadwaku’s location? Are they trying to wingman him? Wow, he’s super close. The voice acting there was so good. Wow, he’s super close. Oh, is it working? A farewell. My first love machine. A welcome. That was very cute. Thank you all for coming to the show. Let us begin our production. She’s already asleep. Kentucky true. I don’t know if I could I don’t know if I could date a girl that’s asleep all the time. Once upon a time, it would drive me insane. I think was no old man. No old We go to see a play and she falls or even they’re crouched a single. So Nagamo’s in this play, right? Was no ordinary hostility. That looks awful. Yep, that’s right. Okay, this is Nagamo. You can see the shoes. The way she wears those shoes really lazily. Unlike other [Music] this is catchmon [Music] the peach refused to go. Great job. This would have been hard to daches in the tens of exchanges never shall be rest. I love this dumplings. Yeah, just one bite makes our hearts sing. Nothing right off the old woman and without the old man just made the tricks the creatures wouldn’t allow this legendary peach to even honor their vow without the peaches. To the front there was a giant ogre. This is kind of a cool to the floor. I thought it would be shitty acid rifle pineapple grenade. A bit of hidden armor that was strapped to the could not escape. Yikes. Aware of his demise, Ogre’s head start. Tears blowing. That ain’t all. The gut sucked silver and their tails were tall and aggressive Paul. Just a second. Our fruit wasn’t going to take them at all. The peach now looking at it life through its rageful lens. With no one left to fight, the peach turned on its will that blood or will they risk their lives to save the world again? It feels like he’s getting a bit creature. He’s back on it. Wow, that was impressive. To be continued in another production. That was really impressive. Yeah, you guys rock. Wow. Wow. Very cool. Rice coupon. Is that what she got paid? Did she just get paid a rice coupon? Man, this show is so great. I I really like this show. I remember like uh when I did the first episode of this show, like before I did the first episode, I said in it like, you know, I don’t think this is going to be a series on the channel necessarily. Um but I want to try it out cuz I knew I liked Ni Joe, but I I like I liked Ni Joe. You know, I didn’t have any strong attachments to it. I watched it way way way after like I you know I only watched it N Joe in the past like three years or something. Um and uh and so you know I I’d heard a lot about N Joe before watching it and I watched it very casually and um and I kind of just like I didn’t watch it as like a you know following it really from start to finish. I mean, I was watching it from the start, uh, but I wasn’t really like trying to follow what was going on. I It was like a casual show I had on, you know. Um, and I, so I really liked it, but like it was it wasn’t it wasn’t a show that I really had much emotional attachment to. Um, but like a combination of this uh these videos, you know, do all right on my channel. There’s a there’s a bunch of you who uh do seem to look forward to my city reactions, and for those people, thank you. so much uh for watching these videos and and commenting on them. I love reading your comments about the show. Um especially since like comments on a show like this tend to be so fun. You know, like people on stuff like this, they’re either talking about things that they found really funny or the love that’s put into this show or they’re like gushing about the characters that they like, like things that they’re uh that that they get really connected to. And I love I love that. Please keep doing that. please. Like if you’re just going to like talk about, you know, Achan Etchan and and uh Mitsuri, things like that, I’m I’m all for it. I love that part of comments, you know. Um whereas some other shows that are more story intensive, the comments will be like, you know, correcting me on things I got wrong in the story or like um going in, you know, deep with theories or um giving, you know, a lot of background on the way powers work and stuff. And you know, that’s all that’s all cool stuff, but like these are my favorite kinds of comments. the ones where it’s just like all positive people gushing about the show, really excited about it. Um, and uh, and so yeah, a combination of that and just this show like has has charmed me in every episode. Like there’s there hasn’t been an episode yet that hasn’t left me like w without the feeling of like just uh adoration. I I just I I if I finish an episode and I go like, “Wow, that made me feel really good. There was so or there was something about it in each episode that like really hit, you know.” Um sometimes it’s like, “Wow, that was really funny.” Sometimes it was it is, “Wow, that moment was amazing.” You know, like last episode I would say like the quiz thing at the end is like really funny and stuck with me. Um, the week before that, obviously the Etchan and Mitsuri uh goodbye scene, like the, you know, the pumpkin scene or whatever really sticks with me. The week before that, I can’t remember if the week before that was the uh the like split screen episode or not. Um, but the split screen, whatever the split screen episode was, obviously that blew me away from the production value, you know, like there’s so there’s so much stuff in this show. Um, with this episode I think I mean firstly the song and slashplay at the end there was amazing. Not only was it great, but I was actually kind of in awe at the dub of it, you know, it’s the same with Dandan this season as well. Like Dandan dubbed um dubbed their the the song in in their show um recently and they did it. If you don’t watch Dandon, there was this heavy metal song that happens in one of the episodes. There’s a heavy metal band that exercises demons and they um and so they played a full song for the English dub. They they got the the lead singer of Dragon Force to sing the song. And so it was like and so you know if you don’t know Dragon Force, they’re a pretty [ __ ] famous band. Um if you know like Through the Fire in the Flames is like the like their famous song or whatever. Um it was famously like in Guitar Hero. um like the hardest song in Guitar Hero at the time or whatever. Um but anyway, uh so they got him in that and I was like blown away by the fact that they dubbed that song and dubbed it really [ __ ] well. And then this I was just watching I was like, “Wow, this is this is really good.” And it didn’t doesn’t just sound like a like it’s lazily dubbed. They had to like it had to keep to the rhythm and keep to the animation while also like keeping up that story and that rhyme. Like keeping the story and the rhyming intact there with that rhythm is very is difficult enough as it is. And then the actor had to sell that and the actor really sold it. I thought he did a great job. So like all of that kind of blew me away in this episode and I can’t wait after I finish recording this video. I’m going to I’m going to watch what it sounded like in Japanese because um I I also want to hear that. Um but that was one thing that like really charmed me about this episode. But the other thing was just like I just love the sweetness of it. Like the the characters I am genuinely very attached to them. So seeing um what is his name? Ta T Tate Waku. seeing him like, you know, he’s going to get clothes to impress a girl and like uh hang on, let me just uh what what is what is her what is what is her name? I’m just trying to get the cuz the girl I always call her uh II, right? But, um, the reason I’m not going to call her that right now is because, um, is because isn’t that her family name? Uh, but then again, I I was just on the So, Nagamo, Etchan, Matsuri, Surishi, uh, Tatawaku, and Takari, D. Which one is Which one is Ei? Is it is it? Maybe it’s Rico. Rico Eye. Something in my mind is telling me that. Rico Ei. Is that Is that her? Yeah, Rico E. So, Rico is her name. Um, yeah, she I I uh I I liked seeing, you know, um her try to him try to get a date with her and then it worked. I mean, I don’t know how much she This is the thing with with Rico. Like, I don’t I don’t really I love her character, but I also don’t I don’t know how lucid she is for a lot of this stuff. I don’t know how much she even like if she was to be asked and like be able to actually answer what they were doing there, would she have seen it as a date? I don’t know. But regardless, he got to have a good time with her. It was very cute. I love the the scene of of Matsuri and Etchan. I mean, look, props to Matsuri and Etchan. It seems like they were going to um they were going to try to wingman him. I think they said their plan was like they flipped the world on his head. Like they essentially will show up and make it seem like he’s in fashion by their wearing the same crazy [ __ ] So, it’s like, “Oh, he’s actually blending in. He’s actually like he’s actually wearing something that fits in with society’s standards of beauty or whatever. Um but yeah, anyway, I I I just thought that was very adorable. Um oh, the Bon Joy joke was really good. Like them setting up all of the band names and then coming up with with like, oh, I’ve got the perfect one. Maybe it’s taken, but I’ve got this great idea for a name, Bon Joy. It’s just it’s really good and like they you know they justify it with like oh from Bon it’s very it’s known to be a jovial day so Bon joy it’s yeah really good. Um but yeah I I really enjoyed that. I’m just looking at my notes. I don’t think there’s much else to talk about. Um I I had a fantastic time. I can’t wait to watch more. Thank you for watching City episode 8 with me.
