City The Animation Episode 5 & 6 REACTION + DISCUSSION

[Music] Hello guys and welcome to a brand new video. Today I’m here with City the Animation episode number five and six reaction. Two episodes reaction. I missed the previous uh week episode. Uh so I’m reacting to both episodes today. Um, so just like I usually do, uh, I’m going to be reacting to episode five and then six back to back and then I’m going to talk about both the episodes at the end of the video. Um, right. So yeah, let us get started. Episode number five first. Let’s begin. I’ll be putting subtitles and the timer here. Sync it to whichever is a preference and let’s begin. This guy has fever. Oh. Oh, no. He opened it. Moral compass. No, they went to the seventh floor out with flu tomato. Oh, need to grab the grab the pendant. Oh, never mind. Oh. Huh. Right. A lot of things happen at the same time. Oh my god. More things. What is happening? Hello. Oh, why are there so many? Oh my god, it’s increasing. I don’t think Yeah. Oh, it is ringing. Okay. Yeah. Little by little, everyone helped. That’s nice. Everyone’s like helping each other and Oh, that’s Hot. Yeah. Or Hot’s ancestor probably. That’s not Haka. What the Hey, what rat? Oh. Oh my god. And here, fast forward to the present. Okay, she’s trying. Oh, wait. She literally just went past the the pawn shop, right? I need to go recheck that. Her pendant was over there. Okay. Wait, wait. Just a minute. I’m going to react to the next episode. But it is a It is that shop, right? Yeah, I think so. Where her like, you know, where where the where the cat rabbit took the took the pendant. This being sold for like 100 yen over there. All right. Uh, let me react to the next. That was a really good episode. I’ll talk about it at the end. Yep, there is. Oh, no. Oh, that’s it. All right. And there you go. That was episode number six. So episode number five and episode number six, I reacted to both of them. Uh let me talk about five first. I’m going to then move on to six. So episode five was very interesting. It was a very interestingly made episode. Uh because you know at the beginning it started normally like you know like an episode. It kind of was a continuation of what was going on. Uh where you know uh Mat uh wait what was her name? Midori. Right. Wait a minute. You know what? Let me bring up the character sheet again. Uh just in case uh city the animation. Yeah. So I think her name was Midori as far as I can remember. Like I’m I’m mixing up Midori and Matsuri. Matsuri is that other girl. The girl with the uh the girl who’s good friends with the other girl. Um anyways, so yeah, it continued from the previous episode where we saw how uh she got kidnapped because you know like they wanted to give her an award. Um and it’s it in it starts from there and the whole episode was their um quest to get away from that tower and uh escape from the tower. The interesting thing about that episode was basically the way they made that episode it from like the middle part it uh became okay just a minute. Um yeah her name is Midori. Um from the middle part it became like at first it was like oh two sections where you know like she called um she called Nikura and she was like oh come and help me out. So we started seeing her section and the other section and then little by little it started like expanding more and more. We had like three panels, four panels, five panels and you know it was obviously it was getting absolutely ridiculous at one point because there were like eight to nine panels in one screen and obviously they were focusing on one panel but the other panels also stuff was happening you know so stuff were happening. So I guess you have to like little by little like to properly understand everything that was going on you have to little by little see what was happening. Um most of the panels were kind of repetitive I would say like like the same thing was happening but at the same time like different things were also ongoing. It was changing sometimes here and there. Right. Just a minute. Um let me check something. So obviously like the main one was the one which was going on maximum but the others were also stuff were happening and uh yeah things were moving forward even though it was kind of repeating itself there were small little changes going on in the different panels. Now obviously the main reason why they did it like that is to kind of bring all of them together at the end because at the beginning the whole tower was kind of empty. No not many people were there but then throughout all the different panels we could see how all the different people little by little started gathering over here. So at the end you can see when um Midori opened the door and she came outside the tower she saw like so many people just there and little by little like you know all the different little bubbles that were on on the screen showing different characters little by little they all came together and it kind of you know that was very that was very interesting the way They did that. That was that was very interesting. But obviously the main thing of that episode was basically um Midori was like at first Midori was like wanted to get away from there. But then when he heard from that guy, what was his name? The nice guy, you know, that apparently he was also like a repeat offender here. The first time he came, he was brought here, obviously he was given like hospitality and everything. And uh the second time as well the same thing happened but the second time he was able to find a secret passage but that’s it. Uh so now this time that Midior is there with them. He’s like we can do this together but Midor is like why would I do it? I I just want to getos hospitality you know. So she changed her mind midway but by that time uh Waka already was here and then at the top the secret passage was blocked by the mangak and her editor his editor so they couldn’t go up anymore. So like you know Midori was like god damn it I have to like keep moving and Midori definitely wanted to lose in the different layers because all the the gatekeepers and everything but all the gatekeepers they were self-sabotaging themselves and all of them were losing so turns out Midori there were multiple times you can see Midori immediately as soon as she came to the next floor she immediately was like I give up but it still didn’t work out because that part was funny where He she was like she opens the door and she’s like I give up. And then she sees this guy with the hand broken and turns out he cannot understand Japanese. So it didn’t work. They had to move on to the next layer. Oh yeah, that was funny. But you know, while all of this is going on, we have over there um Nikura trying to get the pendant back, but he she couldn’t. She couldn’t get the pendant back at all. So finally she was like all right you know what if I cannot get the pendant back let me just go and stay near um Midori so that the pendant cannot come near her because her main thing is that she doesn’t want Midori to get to know what is inside the pendant you know so there’s two ways to kind of counter it number one get the pendant herself or number two stay beside Midori so that Midori doesn’t come across a pendant so she decided to go with the second option after a lot of trying to get her hands on the pendant from that little cat rabbit. She She was like, “Let’s move on to plan B.” So for plan B, she had to go where, you know, where Midori is. So she went on and tried to get to the tower. And while all of this is happening, they were like, you know, obviously doing their own thing. I love the whole little JRPG thing that was going on, uh, you know, at the side. um you know the whole uh RPG Maker style video game that we were seeing on the right side um where we were seeing like the characters were going like down more down and down and fighting like enemies but all the enemies were getting defeated you know all that stuff. Uh yeah that was that was really well done. And there was a little section with the sushi no as well which was pretty funny but they where the the football team got the succino and uh yeah that happened. Then we had the little mini battle against uh granny you know the landlord lady that also happened. Oh my god. So yeah. Yeah. A lot of things happened there actually right and yeah like I said at the end you can see everyone comes together and you know everyone’s just having a good time and the whole city was there at that point I think you know and then we see the pendant ended up getting kept in like a bond I think like like a you know like like a what’s that place called? Not really a pawn shop. I guess it’s just a shop where they sell like different stuff. And the guy got his hands on it and he opened the pendant and yeah, I was correct. I knew it was going to be like Midori’s picture or something. Uh, but I wasn’t expecting one thing which was the picture was from her backside like so she snapped the picture when she was looking the other way. That I wasn’t expecting. So yeah. And you know it’s pretty obvious that is the reason why he didn’t want Midori to end up getting to see the pendant inside of it. So yeah, and she still hasn’t gotten her pendant. By the way, even in episode 6, she still hasn’t gotten the pendant. So, you know, I do wonder if he she’ll ever get it or, you know, if it’s just going to be there. We’ll see. There was another thing that happened in episode 5, which again was something I wasn’t expecting. They showed like a little past scene where this place was literally there was nothing here. It was kind of barren. We get to see the the guy uh what was his name? You know, the currently the the I guess the person in charge of the city is that that girl who always wants to give everyone like awards and stuff. The the yellowhead girl. So, I’m guessing this is like her ancestor. What’s her what’s her name? Uh Tannabe. Okay, here we go. First Tanabe family head of house. Tanabe, that’s their name. Uh, the last name. So, here we get to see like a little bit of a story of the first Tanabe household leader. He started from a very uh obviously like a very modest beginning. Like there was literally nothing he had. You can see he was like sleeping in a like half-made house where there’s no no roof even. Uh, but he was a very good like you know like a like a person and he like helped other people out as you can see uh and people loved him and all the people of the city they decided to make the house like construct the house properly. He didn’t even ask them to they they automatically came to him and they were like all right let’s let’s build this house properly for you. So they started making their house. It it was not even a house. It became like a huge castle and he was very thankful to everyone. And this is also where he met Hotaka where he meets Hotaka and sees that Hotaka was like helping someone like someone dropped their purse. And Hotaka was like, “Oh, here we go. There’s your purse.” Or I’m I’m pretty sure this is not the current Hot. This is probably one of his ancestors, you know. And he was like, “Oh, this this guy is very good.” He was very fascinated by him and he was like, “Oh, come work for me in my place.” And uh no, he didn’t tell him to work for him. I think like from what what I can understand, he told him to he he was like, “Okay, let me give you something like some reward or something.” Uh just like how you know the current the girl she gives everyone reward. This is probably the first reward that the Taname family household gave. So he invited him in like because he like fed him a lot of food and then he was even giving him massages and stuff. Um and uh yeah then more and more people started coming. I guess he ended up employing Hotaka after that. Um and then you can see there’s these rats I think. Yeah. And then suddenly like Lord Buddha came in out of nowhere like the the stat I I I don’t know what the hell that was but he ended up breaking the house because of the the rat like those rat like you know thing and everyone’s like oh my god what is this you you broke the house and you know then he was very um you know remorseful about it so he made the tower and they were like okay and then he was like all right let me make another tower for But in the end, you know, like he couldn’t do anything about the house, but all the people were happy. They were like laughing. So things worked out. And obviously, I’m guessing they rebuilt the house themselves. And those two towers were basically back then that was how it was created. And now finally, we have the current version of the towers as well. I I genuinely wasn’t expecting anything like that. That was like some sort of lore dump. like they they just they just dropped some crazy lore suddenly. Yo, wasn’t expecting that. But yeah, that was that was really good. And so yeah, you know, this is how the city now is like it has been continuing from then. You know, the Dhab family and the and Hutaka and all of them they were like the foundation of this place. People love them and currently here we are. We have this city now and uh nothing have changed that much as you can see you know the people live their life peacefully here all everyone is happy everyone loves the you know the Tanabe family and everything and yeah there you go and and the girl the the she she just gives everyone rewards whatever she wants to so that was episode five a really interesting episode and then episode 6 I have to say episode 6 was probably definitely one of the funniest in my opinion because I don’t know like the first part we get to see this big family you know this big family of how many people were there wait a minute let me check just a minute so grandpa honey which is obviously the the father tatsuta kam riota umi sora seven and if you include the mother as well. Eight. Eight people in the household. God damn. I love how the twins name are Umei and Sora. Umi is uh sea or ocean. Sora is sky. That is crazy. The sea and the sky. Okay. And yeah. And here we see like the whole family is like full on like so many things are going on. Every all the kids are doing their own thing. The twins are fighting amongst each other. There’s this son who’s just saying random stuff and he has to like go to the school and he didn’t eat properly. He was just drinking coffee and then he did the whole catching the onigiri like part. That was that was funny. He had the whole calculation as to how you should change your motion to properly match the onigiri’s motion so that it doesn’t get destroyed. Um, and then we had the elder son who wanted to who had to go to do the delivery, but the the little sisters, they were like, “Oh, take me with you.” But he’s like, “You guys are going on the opposite direction.” In the end, he was still like, “Fine, get in. I’ll I’ll I’ll take you there.” And then the mom was continuously trying to wake up the grandpa. The grandpa’s not waking up so much that the the whole like, you know, like the bump started was there. It became like he became like a unicorn. Um, I love how the grandpa wakes up and he’s like, “But why did he wake me up?” And the the mom is like, “Yeah, yeah, you’re saying that?” Oh, boy. You know what? It took me a while to remember. But yeah, this guy was that guy in in that episode where he was like like spying on everyone, that professor guy. I just realized that a little bit late. Uh anyways, but yeah, that part was very funny. And then we also had the whole section with um Nikura and the the the the football team when Nikura asked him to when everyone was like, “Oh, like tell us what you want us to do. We are idiots. We can just listen to orders.” It was like she was like, “Get me my pendant.” And they were just looking at her blankly and she got embarrassed. Yeah. But I have to say my favorite part of this episode was the part where the professor was faking his death. That was my favorite part of this episode. He tried to fake his death and then he realized he actually is dead or he has having like a out of body experience like he was like all right you know what I’m just going to prank them and he was just like this and then when he was like all right enough is enough let me just tell them that I’m awake I’m I’m I’m still alive he wakes up and he’s like oh no I’m actually dead and and he was able to come back to life again Because this guy, you know, um what’s his name? Um uh Surubushi. Yeah, Surushi. Surubishi did the whole doodling in his nose, which acted as a shock therapy, I guess. And he he woke up. He was like, “What the hell are you guys doing?” Oh god, that’s funny. Right. Okay. Now another thing that happened in here episode is that we got to see another manga in the works which is called happiness. So it turns out the one who made uh you know like um Bummeron or I think that was the name right he was afraid the that mangaka was afraid that his work would be discontinued but his editor was like no it’s not going to be discontinued you just started bummer to number two I just brought this here because it was very similar to yours so that’s why you know I just brought it here to show you and then later on we saw that it was actually Waco who who made that manga. So, you know, they kind of showed this part here in a very brief manner which I’m understanding now. I didn’t properly realize it then. So, this part Wo Izzumi’s mission there was no sound, there was no voice acting here, but they showed like what happened here. So, turns out they found that magazine. Uh we have obviously we have um Midori seeing like the prize money. Yeah. 100,000 yen. Uh Nikuras is already with the pictures and everything. They were snapping pictures and all that. Uh and then Okay. So Waco then goes Oh, no. Never mind. This is something else. No. Oh, so Wako then just goes and um Okay, never mind. I thought that was like origin story of her writing manga or something because later on we get to see that Wako was the one who was the author of that manga, you know, the happiness manga, right? And we had the editor trying to convince her that, oh, can you have to serialize this? But she’s like, no, I will not serialize this. I’m no thank you. Right. And we also had before that, we also had Waco’s sister um Rico, right? Yeah, she was like doing their exam that part and all the whole class was like let’s help her. But in the end all of them are idiots. So they couldn’t really help him out her out. So they were like all right you know what let’s just motivate her. But then the teacher was like you guys all of you failed. I I’m pretty sure about it. Everyone has makeup makeup classes. So there you go. That’s that. Right. Okay. Right. And then we had the final section. That part was pretty sad. Like I knew it was going to be something like that. As soon as you know, like she put the pumpkin on her head. I was like, “Yeah.” So, she doesn’t want to see her face when she tells her that I’m going to be leaving this place. So, you know, uh Matsuri, no, sorry, Eddie. Uh uh Eddie was like, “Oh, I’m I’m leaving this place. I’m I’m moving.” You know, and you can see continuously Masuri was trying to act as if she couldn’t hear it and she was like doing the whole pumpkin thing and they were like joking around and everything. But yeah, in the end I like I kind of re I kind of realized that and at the end when she’ll take out the pumpkin, she’ll probably see her crying, you know. So, and yeah, that’s exactly what she saw. Like she it wasn’t as if she didn’t understand what, you know, Eddie was telling her. She heard it. She heard that she’s moving and uh like so she’s then moving to England and she heard it and she was just rambling on about other stuff because she didn’t want to think about it or she was trying to act as if she didn’t hear it and you know. Yeah. But when the the pumpkin came out, she she was just crying. And seeing her cry, Eddie also started crying. Um, so yeah, I do wonder what’s going to happen with this this part of the plot because I don’t know. It it seems very sad for quite sad for the whole and it’s not even like, oh, I’m going to like the the next town or something. She’s going to England, I think. Right. Yeah, I think that’s what she said. Um, like I genuinely thought it was going to be some kind of a like a punchline where it would be like, “Oh, no. We’re just moving to like a like in the in this we we’ll be in the same city. We just moving houses.” I thought it was going to be like a punch line like that. But no, she’s actually like moving to England. That is not your neighborhood town. You’re not moving to a neighborhood town or city. You’re you’re literally moving countries. Like that’s crazy. So yeah, like I don’t know. I just you know I feel like something is going to happen and the the move them moving that is going to get stopped or something something will happen because I just I just don’t see this happening at the end of the day like because you know like so like so so then what’s going to happen like if she moves like I’m talking like based on the anime like you know completely uh thinking about the anime. I’m saying what’s going to happen if she moves? Obviously, their duo is going to like it’s not going to work out like that. So then what what’s going to happen to their part of the story? Is it just going to stop? I don’t know. It just feels weird for that to happen. You know, she’s both of these two are like important part of the story. If one of them moves, it’s it just I don’t know. It just doesn’t I don’t think it’s going to work like that. So, I’m I’m hoping something’s going to happen and you know, like the moving is not going to happen. They some somehow it’s going to get stopped. Um, right. Anyways, let’s wait and see. Um, yeah. And there you go. And that was episode number six. So, both episodes were really good. Like I said, episode 6 had one of my most favorite parts, which is the part where the professor was acting as if he died and then he ends up he almost dying in that in that process. That part was like the most the funniest to me at at least. I I really like that part and it also had like a very emotional section as well at the end as you can see. So yeah. All right.
