That Anime Show: New Panty And Stocking With Garterbelt Episode 3

What’s going on, guys? Welcome to another episode of You4 Pan and Stocking uh season two. Uh this is episode three and with me as always, I have Blues Spade. Yeah. Uh I mean, I’m curious, you know, to hear your opinion of like what you you know, what you feel about the show at this point because I you told me before you’ve never watched the first season, but Yeah. But, you know, going this far into the show, I mean, I don’t I don’t know if Well, if you have any opinion on this. H I mean it it’s it’s funny but like yeah it’s it it feels like I I guess I guess yeah like you said the original series did kind of kind of have a plot. Um maybe that’ll happen later this series. I don’t know. But like so far it’s almost like these uh almost like these I guess self-contained little like uh segments within an episode. Like it seems like each episode has like three different segments. um you know each uh and they’re all kind of they all eventually like have to do with them I guess getting rid of a ghost or what they they call them ghosts. Uh and you know it’s just like and that’s kind of like what ends up happening. Well not with all of them like some of them do and then some of them don’t. Um like the first one for instance in this episode is is focused around them getting you know getting rid of a ghost. Uh, and and I mean the setup is pretty funny. It’s uh, you know, it’s it’s them like they have to infiltrate like a dojo uh, and to in order to get rid of this ghost, but Penny and and uh, Penny and Stocking have like a falling out with each other. Um, and it ends up being like her and uh, uh, Scandi. Scandi. Yeah. Like she ends up infiltrating the the dojo with her. And I guess it was kind of funny to like to watch the two of them like try to work together. Um yeah, because uh you know, Scanny and uh damn it. Scanny Nox like they were like actually um uh antagonists towards um you know with p uh Penny and Stocking back in the first well at at the end of the first season but now like they’re they’re all working together uh which is which is interesting. So yeah, so they were like, you know, the I guess a dojo uh trying to find out who this um ghost is and they find out it’s the dojo master uh who turns out being the ghost and and of course like you know stalking and scanning kind of get into you know of an argument and like on who and how they should defeat the ghost. But um well the ghost before I mean before they even fight him he has them like try to I guess you know it’s it’s obviously like trying to making fun of like the wax on wax off technique where they have to try to wash a dog or his his dog. Uh and uh of course that does kind of factor into the into the fight later uh with how they end up defeating him. Yeah. And of course this the whole experience I guess uh in a way well actually at the end of the episode um Penny like uh uh ends up um you know making up with her sister and then they of course they end up reconciling by by the end of the episode. Um and I think what was it and then um the next episode after that it’s called uh Pitch Perfect. Yeah. which I thought was funny because it’s just about it’s just about like them being or well uh stalking is like now I guess an Instagram influencer and she’s like well I guess this this world’s version of Instagram uh and she’s like the mo one of I guess the most popular person on Instagram. Uh so then like uh Penny finds out about this and and she it just becomes like a huge competition where they’re trying to they’re trying to be more popular on Instagram than than the other, you know. It just seems it just seems like they’re uh they’re getting an organ orgasm to more like Yeah. like well I guess because of the the validation they get from all the attention they’re getting on Instagram and and of course this ends up like culminating well this leads to them going to this kind this event uh where where I guess they’re um uh they’re they’re kind of like it’s it’s for like famous Instagram models or something. Uh and and then of course it the the ghost there is a ghost in this segment too. Uh that ends up being like I guess the uh I guess the I I guess the ghost is supposed to represent like the uh uh the the like I guess they’re craving for validation or something. Yeah. Because it like consumes them and and they’re Yeah. Like but Yeah. But yeah, they Okay. So it’s the it’s the way they beat it is just kind of kind of interesting because um what was it? Garter Gartervel and brief uh uh find a way to rescue them by giving them even more attention on this Instagram spoof thing. It’s you know to clarify it’s not called in technically called Instagram in this show. It’s it’s it’s a similar play on that you know on that app but yeah it’s like they keep so garter build and brief like help uh garner more you know I guess likes and attention uh on the app uh for you know for all all four of the sisters and then the it becomes too much for the ghost to the point where he ends up exploding and dying and then that’s how they end beating the thing. Yeah. Well, it Okay, so I think the last segment is probably the most ridiculous one I think I’ve seen so far in the show. And I’m honestly kind of surprised that they like reference they reference what they do in this in this skit. Um like the whole thing I mean I’m just going to say like the whole thing is a Fast and Furious reference which is kind of interesting coming from you know obviously like I mean I I don’t know how how like popular the Fast and the Furious is in Japan. I feel like this would appeal or, you know, a lot of a lot more of the like western audience would would get this than than maybe like people in Japan. But I don’t know. I guess there there might be a lot of people that watch Fast and Furious there, but um I I I don’t know. But so um Okay. So, so yeah, the whole segment, they literally have every single character that is based off from the film. And I think they even referenced that like I think it was that one scene from like one of the I think it was the last movie that Paul Walker was in where they like drive off or Yeah. Okay. So I basically it’s just you know they’re let me just get this out of the way. There’s they’re like anthropomorphic sperm inside of Yeah. you know, Penny. And as far as if people know like how biology works, they know how people they’re they’re they’re all trying to drive to the womb like Okay. And and then it get so it plays like almost like a you know typical Fast and Furious type of story in which they have to drive from this go from point A to point B and then they’re almost stopped by you know the by Penny’s vibrating toy and and then like you know of course they ended up saving each other at the last minute and then like you know they they spoof like you know the you know the the fi the final segment between you know Dom and Brian at the end you know end of one of the films and then Yeah. And that’s that’s how that’s how the episode ends. I was I was honestly kind of shocked that they I mean well I mean I I guess I’m not too surprised they went they went there but um I I guess it’s more so like that they referenced the Fast and the Furious like I that kind of like that kind of surprised me a little bit. Um, but yeah, I thought I don’t know. This was actually like so far in my opinion like the funniest segment just because like because of that and just that like why it’s happening, I guess. Like I like I stopped questioning it. It’s just like, you know, you can’t you just can’t you just can’t help face palm laughing at how ridiculous this is. Like it just just like each week just keeps getting more even more ridiculous. Like I mean it’s I mean I’m not surprised because of how ridiculous the first first season was, but they keep pushing the envelope even even further with you know what what they’re showing off in this one. Like just it’s just like this last segment and this episode like pretty much takes you know takes the cake. Yeah. Yeah. I um but yeah, I thought overall was a it was a pretty good episode. Um, I I mean it’s I just kind of think of it now as more it’s like I I’m not really even thinking about that there is I mean maybe it will have like a plot eventually, but it just so far seems like it’s more like a lot of it’s just like you know references and um and and just like comedic skits. Uh I I don’t I’m guessing the first season was probably like that but um no I it was kind of the same thing. It’s just mo mostly they they get into like its own um main plot style like near near the end of the season. Um like like I said like the the first episode of this season was more of like you know following up uh what happened after that cliffhanger from season 1. Um, right now like you know they’re they’re still going going through the same beats as they did with you know season one showing off like these standalone skits u with like with a couple of them like following up on what happened with the main plot like what what happened in the last episode with Penning uh Penning being uh forced to uh pay $3 trillion due to all the damages she caused back in uh episode one which is which is interesting because they They never really followed up on that whole thing which like she ended up getting the money and then uh squandering it on like on a fashion chain. It’s just they never reference this at all uh you know at the beginning of the episode. I mean for the most part like each episode feels fairly like disconnected from like certain things that happened in the last one. Yeah. Um I I mean sometime it just gets I don’t know. It feels like I almost for it just like literally wants you to forget the last thing you just saw uh by by watching so like something so incredibly ridiculous you just completely forget about what happened. Yeah. Uh but yeah, I I thought overall was it was a pretty decent episode. Like I would say I’m enjoying it so far. It’s it’s pretty funny. I mean especially like as a like kind of runchy comedic series with like a lot of sex jokes. Um, and it and I feel like I’ve gotten a little bit more used to the voice to the to the new voice cast. Um, I I don’t know, like I I maybe people who’ve heard the original dub might feel differently, but it’s not too bad. Um, from what I’ve heard of it and from what I guess compared to like how the original sounded. Um, but I think I don’t know. I could be wrong, but it seems like they’re mostly like probably like unknown actors because I mean I I at least just hearing their voices I’m not really like familiar with. Like I I mean the person voicing Stalking right now is Christina V who who who voices uh uh Sakura from Faith Stad and I think she also voiced uh uh many other other characters from V you know from various other series. Yeah, I think they both sound fairly decent for the most part. Um, yeah, it it seems like they’re trying to sort of sound like the original uh the original cast, but um you know, you can still tell it’s it’s like different actors. Yeah, it’s just but mainly people are just more more or less focused on the whole runchy, you know, ridiculous nature of of the show. O overall I mean like um I guess the way you know the new actors are playing you know their characters I think they more or le I think it’s starting to feel like you know you don’t even realize that it’s this like it’s different people like they’re just playing the exact the exact same characters that you know that was portrayed back in the season one. Yeah. Um Oh but uh yeah I don’t really have much else to say about the episode. I don’t know if you have anything else to say about it. It it was fun. Um I I mean like like I said like I just it’s getting to the point where like I just don’t really even care if whether or not if it does have a main plotline. May maybe it will later on in the show because it’s just like um this the past two episodes um after uh episode one kind of you know kind of got into its own standalone thing. Um kind of a little bit surprised that there were at least three segments and compared to two segments back in episode one. So there it’s I guess it’ll it kind of alternate between like just these different random uh standalone segments here and there uh before I guess before it gets into into an actual main plot. uh because they they more because they more or less resolved the main you know the main plot line from uh from season one by defeating oh was it core set from season one but I’m curious like you know what like who the main antagonist is for uh you know for the end of this season. Yeah, I mean that’s that’s kind of what I’m wondering. Um, but yeah, it might kind of follow the same structure as like the first season where like a lot of the episodes are like self-contained and then eventually like there is some kind of a plot. Um, but I mean so far I don’t know. I guess I wouldn’t mind if like all of them were were like this. Um, uh, but yeah. Uh, but yeah, guys, that all being said, until next time, we will see you all later.
