She learns more things about you and the kingdom because she got brought into the fold cuz you thought she was cute and nice. And then one day a flower pot gets thrown at you. Oh, he definitely trying to kill him or whoever it is is definitely trying to kill him. Really? Y’all know who she is? Why would you think she could find the real culprit? [Music] Oh, is that it? So happy to see you continuing this! The story is a little slow at the start, but it picks up as it goes, and it's super fun with a lot of charming characters.
Monica and Lana (blonde girl introduced in this episode) are actually my favorite introvert/extrovert dynamic in any media. Their personalities mesh so well. Another fave is being introduced in 3. Can't wait for you to meet him!

7:55 The man abusing Monica in this scene isn't actually her father, he's only talking about her father.
10:28 It means Lana's family was granted noble status recently because they are so rich, and the other students look down on her for it.

Monica's scream-stutter sounds exactly like Gawr Gura's. I love how expressive they've made Monica in the anime adaptation. They do it in the manga too, but ramped it up for the anime. There are a few things missing here and there though. Certain scenes that seem to have been cut out. Looking forward to see how the story developes without them further on.

Lana is a "Nouveau Riche" which literally means someone that acquired wealth in their own generation rather than through inheritance. In modern society this would be a major point of pride but in a medieval society it is seen as the opposite because nobles care so much about the history of their name so they can say things like "our ancestor 1000 years ago saved the king in battle and was granted a title for his valor, thought the years my family has upheld our excellence and have been praised by the royal family for generations." To these nobles the fact that most praise is simply a formality rather than genuine means nothing to them only that they received it and can hild it over everyone else. As such these nobles see all other nobles as eventual obstacles and limits to their power and thus try to kick all new nobles down before they get big enough to take a piece of the power they desperately cling to which would eventually force them to give power to only one heir slowly fragmenting their power, this is usually done by keeping them socially ostracized because by depriving them of connections makes fulfilling their responsibilities as nobles difficult enough that they could either fail losing their title all together while also sending the message to the kingdom that "commoner nobles" will always be incompetent or be manipulated into becoming essentially a vasal of a stronger noble house solidifying their power until they can eventually just absorb the nobles title entirely through an arranged marriage 4-5 generations later.
