And if you want me to continue it, I’m going to need to see some results, some analytics that prove that this is something I should continue on YouTube. Okay? I want to see this video, this first episode, episode 1, hitting like 12K. If it hits 12K in a week, I know it’s solid enough to continue. By episode two, it’s going to drop drastically under that 12. Probably seven. And then by episode 3, probably four. And then hopefully it maintains four. Okay. Yeah. Black dragons have only appeared twice in the history of this kingdom. Whoa. And she’s going to be so strong. She kills it. [ __ ] you gonna die out here. What are you talking about? It would be unforgivable if I abandoned. Oh, there we go. There she is. The silent witch. And she been studying her ass off. She has been studying, learning, gaining the knowledge to be able to fight. Dude, how when are we getting witch how to tell you again? Show us a preview like two years ago. Maybe it was last year. I don’t even know. Okay, that’s an interesting style home. [Music] One of the seven sages was sent out there. Is she a seven sage? [Music] Oh, she is this. Oh, so this is after she’s returned from defeating the dragons. She’s getting gassed up. Doesn’t even know. Yeah, look at her. [Music] Unchanted magecraft. [Music] Oh, what do you do? That was weird. I’m still doing it. I’m sorry. Damn. She just magicking everything into place. Do she have bookshelves? Oh, yeah. Back there. She’s going to get startled and throw it all in the fire. She’s a silent witch. How cool. She got notes in all these books. Damn. And so she learned how to do magic without talking. That’s so I like that as like a concept, right? It’s like everyone’s like, “Oh my god, she’s the one that does magic without actually enchanting or, you know, chanting and stuff, incantations, but in reality, it’s just like I cannot talk around these people, so I’m going to figure out a way to do the magic without talking around them.” Love it. She bo. Yeah, that’s a boi moment for sure. Oh, this is cute. figure out how to do it. [Music] And so that’s what all the math is, her figuring out how to do it without interesting. Still clumsy, still extremely shy. Damn. Squandering your talents kind of crazy. Dang. She uses her staff as like a a a rod to hold up. She’s drawing a high spirit. Oh gosh. What are you making her do? Ain’t like anybody going to know you got the damn quiet damn spell on. Guard the second prince without him knowing. Opinionated maids don’t get paid. What is it? A rock. Oh, okay. Damn, it’s all broken. What happened? Second comment. Okay. How’d it break? Somebody attacked. Was it the Fire Nation? Yeah. I mean, he’s assigned with protecting him without his knowledge. That’s going to require spying on him. What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him. Yeah, of course. Is he scary? I even endured being apart from my beloved wife. Oh, so he’s married. Did he catch on and that’s why it broke? Did he break it? Probably not so accidental. I need you to attend the academy and be his guard. And why does this benefit her? A little mean. And no D demo. [Music] Yeah. Why is she being forced to? What? What the hell? Okay. So, he is also a seven sage. She slayed the black dragon. Dude, past three months, I’ve slayed 10 dragons. Were they 10 black dragons? Bully. Bully. Oh, she’s the spare sage. Okay. I don’t understand that. Cuz then can’t she just say, “I need you to do it for me.” And then he would have to do it as her fellow sage. Is there like a level of authority as he’s the highest ranked among the sages? Is it an order from the king? Like I don’t understand why she would have to do it. She’s dead inside now. Is this her cover story? I knew it. I knew it was going to be her cover story. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. Hi. I knew it. I had a feeling, bro. I had a feeling she’s still she’s stun locked. This thing is kind of cute. Is this how she solves math problems? She sings them as a song. Oh, she does math to cope with the anxiety of of with just anxiety. [Music] Interesting. She she does math to cope with anxiety. And what the hell is Rosalie Miller? What does she do? She’s 16. Damn. So, she was chosen as one of the seven great mages of this kingdom at the age of 14. She really is a genius. Truly. the guests. Oh god. Sound like a ballad. Damn. Damn. I almost feel like I’ve heard it. Yeah. Okay. So, the dragon that was slayed. Got it. Got it. That’s who the lady was in the tower. The princess. Oh, is that who she was serving or was serving? is serving. [Music] She’s actually very likable. This is just a character she’s playing. Uh because she has to fill the role of being kind of, you know, not nice. Come on, break character. How am I doing? Is it good? Am I doing a good job? [Music] Of course. I’ve been practicing my voice every single day. I love it. Hey, you did a good job. You know, you filled you filled your role. So, she knows that she’s a silent witch. Good. Okay. Good. Daughter of count. Okay. Oh, and they would de Oh, and they would definitely sign on and be okay with it all despite it kind of like maybe painting a bad image of uh Count Carbeck or even the princess. They’re okay with it cuz she saved them, the entire town and everything by defeating the dragon. So, they’re like, “Yeah, we kind of owe you a little bit.” Got it. Okay. Okay. Yo, make sure you drink water. Tell your mother you love her. [Music] Dang, you out here save thanking her cuz what? She supposed to be dying here, dude. I want to see her in action. I want to see her in action. Wait. Drove off the black dragon. Defeated or drove? What are you What are we saying here? Oh, who that? Who that? Who that? The littleer dragons. Got it. Yo, she going to have to uh Ooh. [Music] The tarot dragons like pterodactyl. The pedro. that [ __ ] Yep. Dead. Damn. I’m surprised they didn’t take out the balcony. Is she just like flying above? She’s going to look up and she’s just going to be floating in the clouds. Then this is the thumbnail, right? Or not. Never mind. I was wrong. Okay. It’s just a It’s just a circle. What is that? This type of music, this especially with the the chanting. Oh, I love it. Like a like a chorus chanting just that’s crazy. Yo, she wild for this, dude. She is wild for this. Oh my god. Wait, what? the first mage in history to create unchanted spells. Oh, so no one else can. It’s just her. Whoa, that is an insane scene, too. Wow. Wow. And then kept them from falling on the town. And Wow. Yeah. She doesn’t handle praise very well. Human contact. Skin-to-skin contact. Oh, no. She’s not handling that well either. Wait, wait. I appreciate you so much. I’ll bully you mercilessly over and over again. Oh my god. [Music] All right, let’s talk about the actual episode itself. So, we’ve got a silent witch who essentially, again, I already mentioned this during the reaction. I just love that she is she basically has like a super magic ability because of the fact that she’s shy and doesn’t want to talk to people. I really like that she’s super strong, takes out a black dragon, now she’s got to defend uh the second prince. Not exactly sure why she has to follow the orders of the other guy, but some reason she has to. I’m interested in finding it out. I like that the person that she saved, the princess of that village, is going to help her in this role by bullying her, which is kind of funny. Overall, a solid first episode that does definitely hook you in for more. Uh, listen, if you want me to keep uploading these to YouTube, click the like button, leave a comment, make sure this video gets views. All right, likes and comments help the video get views. If this thing gets 12k views by next Friday, then I know that it’s definitely good enough to continue. It’s going to get the views. If it’s not getting that in a week, what do you want me to do, bro? Like, if it if I mean, if it gets 10K, I might still do a second episode. Just know it might end up failing, right? Second episode might only do like four. And I’ve watched so many trajectories of shows analytically. I know the way the numbers work. Okay, first episode always performs best. So, if I put out a first episode and it gets 4K views, oh, episode two is going to be rough. Episode two is is episode two will be the deciding factor that makes me know that I’m not going to upload anymore. Even though I already know from episode one, like for example with Call of the Night, which I absolutely love, still watching on Patreon, we’re not uploading here on YouTube anymore because the first one didn’t even hit 4K views, which means the next episode it’s going to be even lower and lower and lower and lower. So, it’s just not going to work out. I mean, maybe a really hype episode can come around that gets more views, you know, a crazy battle episode where it gets five or six. Cool. Still not really gonna like draw me in. That’s still I have to pay someone to edit these things and it doesn’t make sense for me to pay someone to edit something that I know will not perform well. I put up the first episode. The goal in putting up the first episode is to let you know I am watching it. And if you want to see it, it’s over on Patreon. That’s like the very minimal goal of putting up those first episodes. I mean, the greater goal is I put up the first episode, everyone loves it. I continue the show on YouTube. Even if I end up losing a little bit of money cuz I’ll tell you one thing right now, 10K views on one of these videos. It doesn’t make back what I’m paying editors, but that’s okay because it’s getting views. It’s getting eyeballs, new people watching the show, which means more subscribers. And that’s my main goal always. It’s more views, more subscribers. the money part of it. If you took the amount of money I make from YouTube and tried to compare it to the amount of money that I pay to editors, they don’t cancel each other out. In fact, the editor money is much higher than what I get from YouTube. Okay, but thankfully, you know, Patreon kind of subsidizes that. So, anyways, man, uh let me know your thoughts on the episode. I hope this video performs well cuz I did like the first episode. I did. It looked beautiful. So there wasn’t like I knew when we started off with these dragons when there wasn’t like a big old CG dragon I was like oh that’s a clear indicator. When you don’t have CG dragons it’s normally a clear indicator that they’re going to be trying much harder with the animation. And so I liked it. Let me know your thoughts down in the comments. 9:22 In the novels, it is explained a bit better: Basically, Louis threatens Monica that this is a mission from the king, and if she refuses, she might be executed (Though he doesn't believe that himself). Also, she never actually agrees, she is just such a pushover that she can't refuse the request.

10:54 The song is about a row of numbers where each number is the sum of the two prior numbers (The song is "Old man Sam's pigs" and the numbers are known as the "Fibonacci Sequence"). Also, Monica solves math problems by just thinking about them for a very short period of time – She is actually supernaturally good at math and measuring, which is what enables her chantless magecraft in the first place (In the novels, creating magecraft formulas and chanting is compared to solving complex mathematical equations).

There is no heirarchy among the seven sages, and Louis and Monica joined at the exact same time. Louis is a more combat focus mage, which is why he got sent to slay dragons so much, while Monica is revered for her technical knowledge of magecraft, so she spent most of her time working on things such as inventing new spells, improving existing ones, or looking over the works of other mages (including other sages) in order to help with important projects. Louis absolutely did NOT have the authority to force Monica to become the prince's bodyguard. But as you already pointed out, Louis is a massive bully. He knows that Monica will fold under a little bit of pressure, which she did (don't worry, he'll face karma).
Hope you stick with this one! It's a funny and charming story with great characters and a plot that gets more and more interesting as it goes!
