See You Tomorrow at the Food Court [フードコートで、また明日] – Anime First Impressions

Welcome back to my channel, guys. It’s time for another anime first impression video. This is going to be on one that I’m going to call it the KFC ad. Um, and I don’t know. I So, unashamedly, I’m going to say uh I’m a teacher, obviously. I I’ve said that before on the channel, but in the summer, I try to make extra money because I’m not going to sit there and just do nothing all day. Uh, so at nights I I door dash. I door dash and I and I I deliver food, which is fine. Um, makes a little extra money, but when I was watching this series that day, I just happened to have a lot of KFC orders. And this series had a lot of KFC references, and I they’re just very like they’re just there. But, um, I I I honestly think KFC sponsored this series, to be honest. And if they didn’t, they might as well have. So, uh, before anything guys, we are talking about See You Tomorrow at the Food Court. Uh, this is a series that is out on Crunchyroll. Time of recording, there’s two episodes. There might be three by the time I release this video. Uh, but it is a uh it’s a good series. I I would just put it like that. I don’t think it’s a uh I don’t think it’s the best series to per se this season, but I think people will like it. Um before anything guys, if you haven’t done so by now, make sure you subscribe to my channel. I do have quite a bit of first impressions already out. Uh there’s a lot more that I want to do, so hopefully I am able to record and post and actually have stuff out for you guys cuz it’s been hard this season. But it’s just it is what it is. Um, work is work and I have to do it, right? So, anyways, uh, hopefully you’re enjoying the season uh, as much as I am because I’m actually watching a lot more than I typically do. Uh, I’m just not posting stuff because, uh, I’m not doing reactions anymore uh, at least for the time being. Um, I might not I might not ever ever go back to reactions. I don’t know. Uh, but I am trying my best to still watch stuff and be on top of anime because I I feel like I went to a point where I wouldn’t watch stuff unless I would react to it. So, um, now I’m just watching to watch, which is fun. Um, anyways, see you tomorrow at the food court. Uh, you can find on Crunchyroll. Like I said, two episodes out time of recording. Depending when this video releases, um, that might be three episodes out. Uh it it it’s it follows two girls in particular and I want to say the episode can be cut in like four parts almost. Um they could have done five minute episodes of the series and be okay with it to be honest. Um I in fact found it a little bit struggling to go all the way to the end of the episode. I did sit down twice to watch this episode. I couldn’t do it in one sitting. That’s basically what I’m trying to say. Um, and it’s not because it was boring, per se. It just wasn’t it wasn’t as entertaining as other stuff that keeps you like wanting to watch the whole episode. So, uh, the two girls are basically girls that are not approachable at school and somehow they just are friends in the food court. They they just have been friends for I think since middle school. and one is a type of girl who um she’s into the American life. So, she has blonde hair and stuff like that. She she specifically says that at the end of the episode that she is not the there’s like these like um very uh expressive looking girls in Japan that have blonde hair, tan, and all that. She’s not that type of girl. She’s just very into American culture. Um, so people just confuse her for that and they think that she’s a tough girl. So no one approaches her in school. The other girl, she tries to be playing Jay girl and she all talks about that at the end of the episode. They have a conversation which is most of this anime isn’t them just having conversations. Um, but she explains how she is trying to just fly down the radar, be approachable if if so, but she actually looks like the teacher’s pet. That’s what people think of her. They think they think that she is smart and that she’s kind of um thinks that she’s too good for everyone. So, so yeah, they they just kind of not talk to her either. So, it’s very important to know this because their friendship really blossom because they have no one else to talk to really and they they’re very much different, but they’re also very much the same. Um, they have a lot of conversations and every bit of the series ends with them going to a title page saying, “See you tomorrow at the foot court.” Which is basically announcing it’s a new day. I I feel like they went through like four or five days in just one episode, but they just have different conversations. In the beginning, she buys KFC. The girl wants to overcharge her, but she doesn’t say anything. When she gets to her friend, they’re talking about how she wasn’t going to confront her about the price being wrong and how she would have overpaid for a simple plane. And she’s like, “Well, I just thought that that was the price and I just didn’t notice that the price was so high.” And the that’s really it. talk about nothing. Um, the second day is them talking about aliens and how one thing thinks it would be interesting to talk to them, the other one thinks exploration of the space is just too much. Uh, another day they talk about how one of them is in line to get food in the food court, uh, the nerdy one. And then she gets her food. She notices some girls that are also in line. They’re talking and she goes to her and talks to her about basically how she feels their conversation, the other girls conversation was empty and that they weren’t going anywhere with their conversation and it annoyed her that that that was what they were doing. And she’s like, “How can people just talk emptiness and you know, they should have something to say or just like don’t say anything?” And the other one talks about like, you know, how she doesn’t really care too much about that, but that bothers her too much that she understands, but she’s also very much a person that keeps the conversation by changing the topic. Uh, another day talk about how they don’t text each other enough. Like they they start texting each other there in the food court because the smart girl says, “I’ve texted you a bunch and you haven’t replied even once.” It’s like you just look at them and you acknowledge the text when we’re back together at the food court, but you never acknowledge it through text. So, they start texting and um she kind of expresses like there’s like loneliness connected to it, like she feels like there’s no one else that she can talk to and she would want to have more conversations with her through text. Um, so, so yeah, it like is their friendship blossoming. And the episode ends with, like I said, that conversation of them explaining to each other, but also to us how they’re both trying their best, or they’re not trying their best, but they’re not trying to not be approachable. They just come out that way because that is who they are. One’s trying to be plain and she comes out as being a teacher’s pet, uh, don’t talk to me person, and the other one turns out to be kind of like a gangster girl, but she’s not like that. She’s just very into American. And they do talk a little bit of English, which I think is funny. It that is probably the best part of the episode. She um the girl tells her that, you know, the best thing you can do learn is say I don’t know. And um and the episode ends with them essentially saying this like very deep quote to each other and the other girl goes, “I don’t know.” Because she doesn’t know what she’s saying. Uh and that’s it. This whole series, I think, is not going to be other than maybe ads. KFC came out a lot. I don’t know if I saw other brands, but it could be that every episode they’re gonna show one brand. I don’t know. Uh, by DC KFC, there was one part of the episode where she bought KFC, but a lot of of it was like in the background or she had a cup KFC logo was there. So, anyways, in a nutshell, I think it’s going to be an ad commercial. Ad commercial, an ad anime. So, let me know what you guys think in the comments section below. Thank you guys so much for watching this video and like always, don’t be strangers. See you guys.
