Hey, what’s up everybody?Gaijin Guinea Pig here. I hope you’re all doing well. And no, I didn’t expect to be reacting to another Wanima song so soon, but they decided to drop another music video on my head like 2 days later. and this song is called Matatabi and it is the ending theme for the anime Night of the Living Cat. Which is a interesting anime that I had to Google. And Nyite is the play on the word nya or nyan, which is the sound that a cat makes in Japanese culture. You know, maybe in America we would say meow. But anyway, you’re not here for a Japanese lesson, but it is a manga turned into an anime per usual. But it’s got a really interesting concept where. This virus, it’s basically Night of the Living Dead. But instead of turning into a zombie, you turn into a cat-like beast, I guess. don’t know. It’s the brainchild of Takashi Mike, who is a very unique individual. I remember some of his old school movies being very edgy, but. I’m curious about this anime because it sounds like it’s completely off the rails. But anyway, Wanima, they do the ending theme Now the video apparently features Kazuko Kurosawa, the daughter of legendary filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, and she is like a very famous costume designer in Japan. I think her son’s an actor. The whole family’s just in the entertainment business, And the video is going to be keeping with the feline theme with Kazuko’s costume designs, presumably. So yeah, there’s a lot of interesting stuff going on behind the scenes with this song, this music video. As one of my viewers said, Wanima is celebrating an anniversary, 10 years of being a band. I think it is. So maybe all of this new music is in fact leading to an upcoming full length, full album release. And I know I said this wasn’t a Japanese lesson, but matatabi is Japanese for silver vine, which is a plant that is used basically at like catnip. So it makes cats go crazy. It’s all very feline centric, isn’t it? Let’s get into it. Hinto looks like he has a great problem on his hands. Yes, I noticed that Wildcat hair. Oh, this song is badass Some proper headbanging going on at the end. Starring Kazuko Kurosawa. Shout out. Awesome. I mean, it’s it’s pretty simple set for the music video. Just a few different sets, but it’s still like so visually exciting. Like there’s so much going on. And like I said, what a great problem to have, Kenta. I mean, you were surrounded by Well, you can see dear viewer, And yes, while we may have just checked out their music video for Bunkiten, we have two completely different sounds really. Both very energetic, just totally different ways. And hey, I am not opposed to checking out more and more Wanima. As long as they want to keep dropping music videos, you know I’m here for it. But Nyite of the Living Dead, I tried to say that with the proper pronunciation. Nyite. Has anyone seen it yet?I think it just premiered. I haven’t checked it out. Honestly, I I remember hearing about it when it first started making waves online and then I totally spaced it. Forgot about it.
