New Saga [強くてニューサーガ] – Anime First Impressions
Welcome back to Tonight. It’s time for another anime first impressions. This is going to be on a new saga which released last week. Uh my Fourth of July festivities um lasted a lot longer than I thought they would. So, it’s been kind of hard to record. I have watched some of the anime that’s been releasing, but yesterday, Sunday, a lot a lot of anime released. So, um, I’m going to play catchup all week this week and post as many videos for you guys cuz as I’m reviewing, obviously stuff will be releasing as well. So, uh, I’ll be hopefully posting three videos a day for you guys. So, there’s going to be on New Saga, which is a series that released last week officially. There’s only one episode time of recording. probably by the time you’re watching this video, uh just cuz sometimes videos it takes a few days for them to pick up. Uh there’s probably two episodes out by now. So, uh it is only subbed and it is um I would say adventure at most. Um there is some action to it as well. Um probably romance as well as you can if you know I I’ll explain what I mean by that. But um yeah, so that is the first um I I guess impressions of genres. Now before anything guys, if you haven’t done so by now, make sure you subscribe to my channel. I am um posting more first impressions for the probably next two weeks. Uh I’ve been doing you know well when it comes to watching like I said so I’ll be posting more of them. There is quite a few already probably seven or six already posted for you guys. Uh so you guys can watch those. Um I I did watch the bigger ones that everyone was uh hoping for the return. So uh I did post already my Dundadon first impressions, but I I did watch Kaiju number eight as well. Uh and I’m excited to see um the the other one, my my dress up darling, I believe is what it’s called. So anyways, there’s a lot of returning series. I’m excited for them. Uh make sure you watch them and subscribe because that’s the best way to catch them. Um, okay. So, new saga. Um, I’m going to be honest, this one kind of felt cookie cut with the story. Um, I I feel like there’s there is a lot of adventure stories like this, and I’m just going to give the whole synopsis of the first first episode in one get-go, but I I’ll explain more in details. Uh essentially you have a a a hero who survived destruction and death to kill a demon and he’s giving uh he’s given a second chance to go back in time and essentially I guess stop the demon from doing the destruction and killing and all that that that he did. So that is in a nutshell the premises of the anime. Uh the episode starts with him and his group of team attacking the demon uh castle and uh we get a quick history. Essentially the demons and humans were at peace for a while which explains why the humans weren’t really prepared for the attacks. When they did start the the demons started attacking the the human uh areas and they took over pretty quickly. So, there was a group of rebels that were created and these are the people that are attacking the castle of the demon lord of of that timeline, I guess. Um, the demon lord of that timeline, he’s pretty cruel. Like, a lot of people are dying left and right. Um, again, we don’t know who they are. Eventually through the second half of the episode, we kind of get a little bit of more notion of who they are, at least according to the main character. But again, it it felt like um the other series that I not so long ago reviewed, Omo um Kiten Rebirth, that it kind of felt like that one. Uh no, no, sorry. It was Clevitus which is another one releasing here. Clevitus was very similar. It started with like a big big action uh scene of them like attacking killing and people are dying left and right and you just you don’t have any connection to the characters that it’s not not that you don’t care so much but it’s like okay like was he important? Not to me at least not at the moment that I’m watching the series. So anyways, character obviously is important to them. He’s he’s hurting. He is able to kill the demon lord and in in doing so he basically got himself to a point where he was very hurt. Um right before he dies, he reaches for this glowing thing artifact that he doesn’t know what it is. And it takes him back years I think five years before that date. um which is right before the attack started. Um now this is where it gets lighthearted. Uh obviously he he knows what’s going on but it gets lighthearted in the sense of um he starts seeing all his family and friends again alive. Um one I think it’s I guess his girlfriend uh shows up in the room. Could be his little sister. I don’t know really don’t know who she was um cuz they didn’t really clarify what type of feelings he had for her but he has strong feelings for her and apparently she died during the invasion of the city and then one of his friends is there and apparently he died in in in you know hands in hands in that battle as well as another girl that or his mom I guess who looks very young uh died as well in in one of the rebel fights and um yeah they’re all there it’s his birthday. Uh people are just being so happy for him and all that, but um I guess really all that all those interactions are kind of the same to me. I’m just going to say that out of the blue. It felt like it was just kind of like, “Oh, you’re still alive. Oh, you’re still alive. Oh, you’re still alive.” Right. And we and they’re they’re each in their own way attached to him different. Like obviously the the first girl there’s like an emotional connection again. I don’t know if it’s sister or or girlfriend. The second one, he he has a brother in arms. He fought next to him. He is someone that’s gonna train with him and prepare him for the battle. And then his mom, she’s very knowledgeable. She actually there there is a big big portion of her in the episode. Uh cuz she’s trying to explain to him how time traveling could be possible. He’s has all these questions and she’s like, “But why do you have these questions?” He’s like, “No, just right.” Uh so that again um all the interactions although unique in their own way to me don’t know the characters well enough. So the end of the episode is basically him writing down all the main events that he remembers of his past life uh from that moment to the end of his life so that he remembers what’s going to happen so he can be prepared and either avoid or um be able to um combat and be prepared for for the battles that maybe he can’t even avoid. So, um, yeah, that’s in the nutshell the first episode. Uh, did I enjoy it? You know what? This is one that, um, it could grow on me. I, like I said, it’s it’s cookie cut in the sense of what the story is like. It’s kind of like a revenge story. Um, he has a second a second chance in life to take revenge to what happened to him. Um, that’s essentially what’s going on. And I’ve seen one too many of these. Uh, honestly, when it comes to those, I kind of prefer the romance more to be honest than like the action ones. So, yeah, this genre’s been a little bit used in the past 2, three years. Um, I could be wrong. This might be more unique than what it is. But let me know in the comment section. Are you watching it? Cuz personally, I am not. I’m going to give this one a 5.5 out of 10. I don’t think this one will be talked about. I don’t think this one will be remembered uh past the season. So, um, that’s just unfortunately it is. I’m sure it’s someone’s favorite, but it is what it is. Thank you guys so much for watching this.
