2025 年 7 月のバレット ジャーナル プランを一緒に立てましょう ☀️ バレット ジャーナルのインスピレーションとアイデア (テディ ブレイク氏による)

Hello besties. Welcome back to my channel and welcome to my July 2025 bullet journal setup. Can you believe that we’re already halfway through the year? This is actually insane. Just for context before we get into the art for this video. I’m currently sitting in the closet of my bedroom because it is pouring rain so loudly outside. Literally 5 minutes ago it was completely calm and then I come to record a voiceover and it starts downpouring. So if you can hear any bit of thunder in the background, maybe it just adds to the ambiance. At least I hope it does. It’s actually kind of cozy to listen to. But I just hope it doesn’t ruin the audio for this voice over. So, if you hear anything, it’s probably the storm. Let’s get into the setup for my video. And like often on my channel, I’m going to be starting with a sketchbook and not my bullet journal because I’m making a piece of art with alcohol markers first and then I will eventually cut out the paper and put it in my bullet journal. If you are new here, this is a technique I use all the time. And if you’re not new here, you’re very familiar with it and I hope that you don’t mind. So, if you couldn’t already tell, I’m currently drawing Rapunzel from the movie Tangled. And this is basically the main inspiration for my July theme. Now, this particular picture I am recreating this image I’ll put here on the screen. I think the on Instagram of the original artist is Toshi San. I am probably mispronouncing that like 100%. But I loved this recreation that the artist did of Rapunzel. And I wanted to take a lot of inspiration from that picture for my own drawing. I like the position that the character was in. I think it’s kind of cute to have her like propped up on well in her picture it was a swing. In my picture, it’s a window sill with kind of her knee sticking up and she’s like painting on the wall. Like if you’ve watched the movie Tangled, which if you haven’t, like um what are you doing? Hello. But it feels very much to her character just to be really casual and slouched and painting with her incredibly long hair, absolutely draped anywhere that you can fit it around her. Overall, the main changes that I made to this art piece, because again, I really love the original artwork, but I wanted to add my own flare to it. I changed her sitting on a swing to sitting on a window sill. Almost like this is the window out of the tower that she’s sitting on and she’s painting the wall right next to it. I also have this braid going through her hair that I added flowers to. There’s going to be like a spring of flowers on the top right corner of the window sill. In fact, I used this other picture of a different drawing of Rapunzel to kind of inspire that in the corner of the sketchbook. And then I’m also just going to be adding these sun drawings around the entire thing, which kind of blends into the line art right now, but when I start adding the color in, you will see those pop with like a gold yellow tone. Again, if you’ve watched the movie, it will make a lot more sense. If you haven’t, then go do that and maybe come back. But the gold yellow star/son image is a motif from the movie. It’s like a metaphor, and I wanted to add that drawing into here as well. I actually almost forgot about it, but then my sister saw my sketch and she was like, um, where are the suns? And I was like, you know what? You’re actually so right. I need to go add them in. So that’s why there are some changes from my drawing to the one I was inspired by, but I always like to add my own little personal touches. And now we’re going to be adding all of the color. So line art first as per usual and then pulling out my alcohol markers to start with the base tones of everything. My standard style for color with alcohol markers is honestly very simple. I always start with a base color and then go on adding layers of shadow afterwards. Usually at least one, but sometimes two. And if it gets a little patchy, I will blend it out with the original color to make everything a nice smooth gradient. Now, the skin tone and the tone of the brick behind her is honestly quite similar. And she looks very orange without her hair being colored in. And I understand that. It looks very stark right now, but give me a few minutes to add the color of the hair and the dress, and it’ll all kind of fit in a little more. As far as the dress itself, I wanted to combine a bluey periwinkle version of purple with a more pinky toned version of purple. I don’t know. I was thinking about it. I used to really plan my bullet journal themes based on the color palettes and I didn’t want to use the same colors as I did the month before. Now, in this case, last month for July, I did a different character on the front cover. She had like gold with red hair and horns. So, different color palette because there’s a lot more red in that. Then, I was thinking, and I know this is a couple months away technically, but in May I did a hot pink theme with a carousel that was like hot pink and purple. And then in March, I also did like a lavender theme. And I was like, “Girl, you’ve really been loving your pinks and your purples this year. Those aren’t really your usual color palettes, but I guess I’m kind of stepping out of that and into a pinky purple mode. So, I decided when I was drawing Rapunzel that I wanted to kind of blend both of those colors together for her dress to make it more original and also so I wouldn’t, you know, stick to the exact same colors that I used for those two previous months. Anyway, all that to say that this dress isn’t completely accurate to the one in the movie. There are different stripes between the pinky purple and the bluish purple on her sleeves. The bodice is more pink. There’s a pink ruffle at the bottom of the purple skirt. You know, again, adding my own personal touches. That’s what this entire thing is for. Now, to talk about the hair. Blonde hair, in my opinion, is some of the hardest hair to draw. I feel like it’s such a hard combination to make it not brown, but also not yellow. And honestly, it did make it slightly easier because Rapunzel has quote golden hair, not blonde. So, I could lean more towards the yellow palette because it was supposed to be more bronzy, brassy kind of gold versus a light natural blonde. I’m telling you, it’s the hardest hair color to draw in my opinion. But yeah, I used a couple different shades of light brown beige at the beginning and then adding more layers of yellow to bring out that gold undertones into the final product. When I finish this portion, I still have more to do. At the very very end, after cutting this picture out, actually about to put it into my journal, I will add more yellow onto the hair to make it stand out more because again, her hair is like super long and it’s basically her number one trait. So, I have to make it stand out the most because it’s like Rapunzel is not Rapunzel without her hair. I mean, okay, she is 100%, but I think her hair is such a big part of her personality, especially towards the beginning of the movie. And so, I really wanted to make it stand out. So, yeah, more yellow will be added, but for now, I think the blonde looks very nice. And to be honest, I’m actually pat on the back very proud of myself for how the hair is actually drawn. It has become way easier for me to draw hair recently. I drew some pretty extravagant red hair in my June setup, which was inspired by an image that I saw. And I kind of used that same style from last month to draw the hair here. I do think in general whenever you’re doing line art, straight hair or wavy hair is easier. And then when you’re not doing line art, curly hair is easier. But here, I just tried to make it very lively and vibrant with the line art. So it’s not just like stick straight lines. There’s a lot of curve to it, a lot of wisp to it. I tried to add different bits that are like coming out of the main block or chunks of hair. You know, again, make it have its own little personality and make it more interesting than just like a curtain of hair coming down from the ceiling. Like we have more dimension to it. And I’m actually really proud of how that turned out. [Music] [Music] All right, so now I’m going to be cutting out this picture. Sure. It does take me quite a second cuz I’m using very small scissors and I’m trying to get all the little details into this like cut around. And then I’m going to be taping/ gluing it into the first cover page of my journal. And there’s literally nothing else I’m added to the cover page. It’s just this artwork. If you noticed, I wrote the word July at the bottom with a light blue I mean well purple, not blue calligraphy pen. Usually I only have black calligraphy pens, but I found this one in my collection. So that’s awesome cuz I could use it for the title here. And that’s like literally all that I’m doing for the cover page. So, congratulations. Cover page is pretty much done. Now, on the left side of the spread, I’m going to have a Oh, did you hear that thunder? My goodness. I’m going to have a quote page, and I will talk about it in just a second because I feel like I haven’t done a quote page in a hot second. But first, I bet at this point in the video, you may be wondering to yourself, Sophie, what journal are you using? Because if you’re not new here, you know that I usually use two bullet journals every single year. which means that I usually used one journal for the first 6 months of the year and then I will switch to a different journal for the second half from July to December. Now, if you’re subscribed, you know that I did not post a new bullet journal setup last week like I would usually have done. And that’s because I’ve actually decided to keep all of 2025 in one notebook this year. This is a decision that I really didn’t think twice about. For some reason, it was just like a natural instinct. I mean, okay, in past years, I make my bullet journal spreads, you know, every week. I use them all the time and I am constantly making extra spreads for videos and things like that. So genuinely by the time June finishes I am way more than halfway through a journal which is why I can’t fit the rest of the year in the journal and therefore choose a second notebook for the second half of the year. But in 2025 I have not only been gifted a lot of journals very graciously from brands that I could use for video spreads I need to make besides what I make for my actual bullet journal. I also in general haven’t been making that many spreads besides what I film. Like for example, a lot of my weekly spreads this year have been Dutch doors. So there are like two weekly spreads in one spread. Sometimes I also skip weeks. Like when I was on vacation, I didn’t make any weekly spread for it because I didn’t need it. And so therefore, I have more than half of the journal left of this particular TSY notebook and we’re starting July obviously right now. So it was an irrational choice I think to start a new journal and leave a lot of blank spreads at the end of this one. I feel like it’s just a little wasteful. So therefore, I’m just going to continue using this one for the rest of the year. And that’s like my goal right now. So we will see next year if I stick to one notebook or two, but for now 2025 is going to be all in one notebook. This is the first time I’m doing that since 2020. Literally the past four years I’ve had eight notebooks. But you know, I’m all here for saving the trees, saving the resources, and not using an extra journal if you don’t need it. So that’s my update. I hope you guys don’t mind. And if you do start a new journal 6 months through the year, I will link my new bullet journal setup from this year and midway through last year down below so you can still find some inspiration. I just won’t be making one this year. What I am doing, however, is a quote page. And I haven’t done a quote page in a hot second. Mostly because quote pages in my brain fall into the category of spreads that are really pretty and nice to look at, but I have no productive use for them. It’s not a calendar spread. It’s not like a tracking spread where I need to use it throughout the month. It’s literally just nice to look at. And so therefore, whenever I am short on time or I am really busy and not making a lot of spreads, aka what my life has been like in 2025, I don’t really have use for them. But I was thinking to myself, okay, so for the month of July, it’s summer and you’re going to be making a lot of weekly spreads to, you know, plan out your month because it’s actually been a really busy month so far and I have quite a few trips I’m taking as well. So it’s going to be a very hectic couple of weeks. So, I was thinking, okay, if you plan out all of your weekly spreads in advance, which I will do, then you don’t need a calendar spread because you can put all the events that you would put in a calendar spread in your weekly spreads. Therefore, the page to the left of the cover page is blank and I don’t need to make a calendar spread for it. So, I was debating doing a bunch of different things like a monthly dashboard or goals, but then I just came to my old tradition of making a little quote page. And I thought it was nice cuz I used this quote from the movie. It’s a line that Flynn says to Rapunzel and he says, “Well, that’s the good part. I guess now you get to go find your new dream. Now, does this really resonate with me at this current moment in my life? Like emotionally, no, not really. I mean, it’s a really nice quote. I do like it. I don’t have any like purpose for choosing that one specifically besides it being, you know, a nice quote. But to be honest, I’m really happy that I put it here. When I was filming, I didn’t quite love how the quote page turned out, but then like now that I’m making this voice over a week later, I’m looking at it and I’m thinking it really does complement the cover page really nicely. I think the colors work together. I think the sun’s kind of helped tie everything together and I’m quite happy with it. So, pat on the back for me for doing that. I’ve done a little bit of patting myself on the back today. Maybe I should like tone it down a little bit. But yeah, I’m pretty happy with it and I’m glad I made the decision to include it. [Music] All right, so we are back in my sketchbook, and that’s because we’re going to be making the second piece of art for this video. Again, alcohol markers need a sketchbook paper because they bleed through literally all paper. But if I just paste this onto the front of a different spread of my journal, you won’t be able to see it, obviously. So, it doesn’t matter if it bleeds through this because I’m going to be transferring it onto something else. Anyway, if you’ve watched the movie, I’m like the biggest promoter of that movie right now. But, this is the tower that our girl Rapunzel is trapped in for the first like what, 16, 17 years of her life. 18. I don’t know how old she is in the movie anymore. Oh, if she’s 18, I’m older than her. That’s actually crazy. like the year that you turn when you realize you’re older than Disney princesses. Like you look up to them for so long in your life and now I’m like, “Girl, I’m 19. Like I’m older than this chick.” Anyway, the point is this is her tower and I wanted to draw it cuz it’s also an iconic scene or image from the movie. I took inspiration from this picture I’ll put on the screen, but obviously also the original drawing or sketch from the movie. And I’m trying to make this customized as well to the front cover because not only am I going to be drawing it in the same colors that I had the brick on the first page colored in, but I’m also adding a bunch of those purple and pink flowers that I included on the first page to make it seem a lot more cohesive and together. This is a little bit lopsided. It’s not perfectly symmetrical. I didn’t use a ruler at all. I was basically eyeballing everything, including like the turrets on the side and the windows and the sizes of the support beams and things like that. like everything is eyeballed and I think that’s okay because where I usually would be very particular about making things you know accurate and precise something like this it’s number one a story book like fairy tale so I feel like the whimsical aspect leans into it not being symmetrical like maybe in quote real life the tower is a little crooked because it’s old and it’s like in a fairy tale and I feel like that makes it more cozy and like quaint but also because it’s like a drawing and it’s like an animated movie everything has its little quirks and flaws and I’m okay with that, you know. So, I’m pretty happy with it. Anyway, so yeah, I’m using the same beige tone for the brick on pretty much the entire building, assuming that most of it is made with like brick and stone. I’m adding that shadow in with a little darker rosier pinky tone. Maybe not completely accurate to the movie. I think that tower was a little more gray. This is leing more towards beige and pink, but again, it fits the color palette and that’s what’s most important to me. And speaking of unrealistic colors, I think the roofs of this are going to become a purple, the same color as her dress. and I’ll have the flowers, you know, streaming out of places they probably shouldn’t be streaming out of. It’s all a little, you know, fun fairy tale unrealistic vibes, but that’s kind of the point and I’m happy about it. So, I hope you guys like the final drawing. This is a little off topic, but have you ever had the feeling where you look back at something from the past and you remember the exact thing you were doing or thinking at that moment? It’s like when I’m watching back this video for the voiceover recording. I’m thinking to myself, “Girl, I remember you were listening to the audio book of Caught Up by Nessa Allen when you were drawing this literally live on camera, which is so funny.” Like, I just finished that book a couple actually last week, not a couple weeks ago cuz I filmed this last week. Duh, Sophie. But I am just thinking to myself like I will never not associate this drawing with that book now because it’s implanted in my brain that those two things go together, which is so funny. By the way, if you didn’t know, I do have a book channel called Sophie Joe where I post reading vlogs and book reviews and things like that. So, if you’re interested in any of that content, I’ll link it down below. In fact, it’s always linked down below. I do like to give her a little shout out on this channel because it’s obviously a larger channel. And I also know that a lot of you guys like reading journal content, so you must like to read as well. So, you know, if you want to check out more of my book stuff, go check her out over there. But yeah, I just like was funny to think about, oh my gosh, I remember this was this was my caught up era. I was listening to very intense smut through my ears as I was drawing this innocent cottage tower that Rapunzel lives in. Like anyway, moving on. So, once again, I’m cutting out this drawing with my tiny little scissors, and I’m going to be pasting it/ taping it onto the left side of the spread. Last month, when I did basically the exact same technique of drawing on sketchbook paper and cutting it out, I used a glue stick to paste everything into my notebook, which I thought would work because glue is usually quite strong and in fact stronger than you think it is. But because I am cutting so intricately around my drawing, there are a lot of little details and little parts that the glue doesn’t want to fully stick down. And so I had to add a lot of like tape on top of everything to make it stay. So I’m learning from my lesson this month that I’m going to be using double-sided tape on the back of this. And then for the tops of the turrets, I will probably still use regular tape on top to make sure that they don’t fold up cuz it’s one of my biggest pet peeves when like you’re, you know, flipping through your journal and all of a sudden the artwork like peels up because your arm moved the wrong way. like it’s so annoying. But yeah, I think that the double-sided tape really did its job in this one. Besides just those little pits at the top of the turrets [Music] All right. So, you are seeing me do a little bit of math here, and that’s because I’m going to be cutting a Dutch door. Like I said earlier in the video, I wanted to make all of my weekly spreads in advance. I wouldn’t have to worry about doing so in the middle of June since it is such a hectic hectic month for me. Or I mean July, not June, whatever. I’m cutting out a Dutch door page here, which is basically just cutting off a little bit of every page to make it almost like miniature spreads in the middle of the journal so that you can technically still see the artwork from the very left. I mean, you really can’t. It’s like you can barely see the tower from the side, but I do kind of like to trick myself into thinking that you can see the art from the very front. Anyway, these tabs are going to have all of the weekly spreads or all of the boxes for each day of the month, literally for the entirety of July. I’m going to be putting a week on every tab, which is a little bit much for me. Usually like to have a full left and right for the seven days every week, but I’m having a busy month, but also there’s a lot of days I’m going to be on vacation or I’m going to be traveling. So, my day-to-day to-do lists aren’t very busy, but in just in general, I am quite occupied. So, I didn’t need that much room every day to write down tasks. And so far in the month, I think that this has been a sufficient amount of space that I’ve been using. But I did definitely want to make a box for every day of the month to save room even more because squishing seven days of the week into one page is again a little much. Only four of the days actually have a box around them. And then the three days in the middle, I’m just using that negative open space to be the space where I would write out my tasks and stuff. I do have Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday written in calligraphy with the purple and pink pen. And then I have the remaining days, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday written with black over a little purple stripe. So I like the coordinating but also intermixing styles for this because it makes it more interesting. Part of me thinks that if Rapunzel had her own journal, she would have something very quirky and mismatched as well. So it wouldn’t be very uniform because she is not very structured and uniform person. I’m talking about a fictional character here. Yep. Okay. Anyway, but yeah, I think that kind of fits her vibe. And overall, it is very minimal. There’s not much going on. I did add a couple of sun drawings into the corners because I felt like there wasn’t enough yellow on this page. A lot of pink and purple, but I need more yellow and more gold to kind of fit her personality and her hair, obviously. So, I added a couple suns at the very end, but besides that, the weekly spreads are quite simple, and that’s fine cuz it makes it more easy for me to be productive and use them for what they’re supposed to be used for, aka serious planning. So, you guys are watching me make the first three weeks of July because I made three columns worth of days. There is one more Dutch door page behind the purple tab that I didn’t flip over because I wanted to end this video here. Y’all know what a weekly spread looks like. I’m doing the exact same thing on every page. So, I figured that 3 weeks was sufficient and I will do the last two of July later in the month whenever I need it. But, the space is already there and set out for me to use it. So, there is no worrying about making extra art or things like that. So, yeah, I’m going to add my finishing touches and then this spread is pretty much done. [Music] When I first finished filming for this video, I thought it was, you know, a good setup, but it was just okay. But to be honest, a week later after looking at it, I’m really, really quite proud of this. This has to be one of my favorite spreads so far in 2025. So, I really hope you guys liked this setup. I know it’s a week late. My deepest apologies, but I’ll have two videos coming out in the next week for you. So, make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss them.
