Dandadan Thursdays are back! It’s amazing to enjoy Dandadan Thursdays again for the next three months! I’m so glad it’s back!
If you thought Season 1 was insane, you haven’t seen the real peak yet!
It’s going to get even crazier from here! You know, it really feels like this is the 13th episode of the second cour.
It jumps straight back into the action, with no flashbacks or intro monologues, continuing as if Episode 12 aired just last week?it’s hilarious! And the episode title boldly says “Episode 13” too (lol). Looking at the flow of this episode, it really feels like it was originally made as the 13th episode of a 24-episode structure. The waiting time felt so long.
I’m so happy to finally see the continuation! But wise old ladies would probably say, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder!” (lol). Watching this reminded me instantly of what happened at the end of the last season, even though I’d almost forgotten! Even though I’m not a big fan of battle shonen manga, Dandadan is always fun and creative! Momo, Okarun, and Jiji are back facing the Kito family, who are trying to sacrifice them to a giant underground worm…
Well, this is classic Dandadan, and it’s awesome!
I’ve been waiting for this messy vibe! It’s a predictable development, but it’s still super satisfying! But this episode felt short and ended so quickly.
It was super scary in the moment, though. Dandadan battles really start when the characters begin losing their clothes (lol). Turbo Granny is the best character ever for me. I missed Turbo Granny for half a year!
Tsundere Turbo Granny is just too good. Look at this face!
Turbo Granny is really cute.
If I told her that, she’d probably just say, “Bullshit!” (lol). Turbo Granny always says, “I’m not helping,” but she ends up helping every time (lol). I love how Turbo Granny’s motives have been consistent from the start.
Even when she was a ghost in the tunnel, she couldn’t stand sexual violence, and that vibe has stayed the same. Turbo Granny seems to enjoy beating up scumbags who target young girls.
If she could, she’d probably crush their balls too. Turbo Granny is a curse itself, so she probably reacts instinctively to sexual violence.
She might not even mean to, but she moves subconsciously. Now that she’s inside the vessel of the lucky cat, I think the cat’s effects are also in play.
She’s bringing a lot of luck to Momo. Turbo Granny soaking in the hot spring and looking so happy is just adorable! The way she destroyed the entire hot spring facility was epic!
I was shocked by how it broke down (lol). The cursed lucky cat (lol). If the old lady on screen isn’t a strong character or can’t fight, then it’s not Dandadan. In fact, every old lady in Dandadan is strong and can fight.
Old lady = strong character. It’s a Dandadan staple.
Old ladies can fight and are super strong. Dandadan doesn’t work without fighting old ladies.
But isn’t this Kito old lady way too strong?
Even Bruce Lee wouldn’t stand a chance! Dandadan feels like it condenses all the unique vibes of Japanese anime.
Japanese anime is truly out there.
It builds worlds that are unimaginable in the West and throws them at us unprepared.
I’m always knocked out by it (lol). That’s true.
It feels similar to the shock I had when I first watched Akira. Dandadan’s story is wild, but the manga’s artwork is incredibly detailed.
The level of artistry is overwhelming and surprising!
This level of skill reminds me of Akira’s creator, Katsuhiro Otomo. If you’ve never read the Dandadan manga, you should definitely check it out.
The author, Yukinobu Tatsu, is truly a genius.
His artwork is overwhelming.
It’s genuine art. The takeaway from this episode is that old ladies are the strongest, and never assume you’re safe near the Great Snake, aka the Mongolian Death Worm. The old folks in Dandadan all have infinite fighting tricks?it’s hilarious (lol). Momo is always surrounded by old ladies.
Turbo Granny, Seiko, the Kito family (lol). May the old ladies be with you. Star Wars much? (lol). The new OP is so good!
The visuals and the song by Aina the End are amazing! The new OP’s shot from Okarun’s perspective is so beautiful. I wish future OPs would be required to include the word “Dandadan” in the lyrics. I can’t get hyped unless “Dandadan” is repeated 18 times?what should I do? The previous OP was so Dandadan that it feels weird not starting with that song (lol).
Well, we’ll get used to it eventually! The ED is super cute too. Watching Momo and Okarun just having fun is really healing. The ED’s dance and cosplay outfits really give me life. Momo in a maid outfit and Aira!

The ending is so much fun!
It’s really great! Even though the artist changed, the lyrics and animation themes are consistent, which is nice. By the way, three old ladies tried to kick Momo’s butt in this episode alone.
And it’s only the first shot of Season 2 (lol). I actually want to see a battle between old ladies.
If the Kito family’s top old lady fought Seiko, who would win?
It’s the first time in my life I’ve wanted to see an old lady battle (lol). Seiko vs. Kito Mama in an old lady battle.
I’d pay money to see that (lol). The Kito family is seriously terrifying. The Kito family might be scarier than the giant underground worm.
They ended up getting eaten, though (lol).
But knowing the Kito family, they’d probably burst out of its stomach (lol). The Kito family’s “rape face” was totally over the top, and the martial arts moves of the Kito old lady were super smooth and insane. The Kito family’s boss mama was moving so sharply! The Kito family members were insanely strong, especially the boss old lady’s

When watching Japanese anime, never eat or drink.
You’ll either spit it out or swallow it poorly.
Especially with Dandadan, it’s absolutely forbidden. The Kito family’s boss mama has a rifle and uses it mercilessly on anyone she doesn’t like, plus she’s got the police on her side…
She’s basically a mafia boss (lol).
She’s the Godmother! The power word “Godmother” (lol). But seriously, the Kito family members are super creepy.
The scene with Momo in the hot spring was really gross. Kito: “Don’t worry! The Kito family has perfected this pose over 200 years to calm the Great Snake! We’re completely safe now!”
And then they all get eaten (lol). Okarun’s quick thinking almost got them out, but the Kito family knowing about Momo exposed Jiji’s lie, which was frustrating. Watching Momo beat up the Kito family in the hot spring was so satisfying!
Especially the groin kick?awesome! By the way, the kanji for “Kito” means “demon head,” like “leader of demons.”
It’s an actual surname in Japan.
It’s not super common, but according to surname sites, about 19,800 people in Japan have this surname. The real Kito family is a famous samurai lineage descended from a branch of the Genji clan.
Legend has it that Minamoto no Yoshitsugu was ordered by the emperor to defeat the demon clan in Kishu, and as a reward for succeeding, he was given the surname “Kito,” meaning “demon head (conqueror/leader).” I never thought I’d learn such intellectual trivia in the Dandadan community.
And it’s connected to the Kito family (lol). But the entire Kito family got wiped out (lol).
I love the trope where the ones trying to sacrifice others are the first to get eaten. Using Mongolian throat singing for the Mongolian Death Worm’s theme song was such a great touch. Seriously, I was reminded of how amazing Momo is…
Without her, everyone would’ve died countless times. Momo’s fighting when she’s not sealed by dizziness is just the best.
That spinning kick is so satisfying! This author really loves putting Momo in weird situations (lol). And now we’re back to familiar scenes (lol).
We get to see Momo, Okarun, Jiji, and Turbo Granny in action again! The “Seiko Fan Club” is back too!
I can’t wait to see our beloved Seiko-sama! The Seiko Fan Club is still active (lol). Okarun still has one ball missing, but we’re fully back! It’s clear that entering that house affected Okarun and Momo, but nothing seems to have happened to Jiji, which is curious.
I can’t wait for the next episode! Thanks for watching the video till the end! Dandadan is back after about six months! You can tell overseas fans were eagerly waiting for it too! Not explaining the previous episodes at all and jumping straight into the main story is classic Dandadan! Overseas fans were saying they want to see a battle between Kito Mama and Seiko.
