a look at the voice cast of Takope’s Original Sin today I’ll be introducing these voice cast of Takopi’s original Sin along with some of their most well-known anime roles the original manga created by Taizen 5 was serialized on Shonen Jump Plus it’s just two volumes long short and punchy even the covers hit you with impact the story follows Takopi an alien from the Happy Planet who comes to Earth to spread happiness he tries to help a girl named Shizuka who’s being bullied at school using mysterious gadgets from that summary you might think it’s a heartwarming and emotional story but the anime immediately opens with a warning practically telling viewers to brace themselves it contains numerous scenes of school bullying and domestic violence many of which are truly hard to watch the characters despite being elementary school kids go through so much physical and emotional trauma that it might be too much for some viewers to handle i personally struggle with content like this and even by the end of episode 1 it was already heavy and knowing it only escalates from there made it feel even heavier the anime ended up being streaming only and for good reason there’s no way they could air something this intense on TV if it aired on a Sunday evening the whole country would probably scream in horror before making this video I reread the manga and honestly it drained me mentally it’s definitely a masterpiece but it’s not the kind of thing you can casually recommend with “Hey this is great you should check it out.” Anyway let’s get into the voice cast the official website lists four main characters while you might think Takopi is the protagonist the early part of the story actually revolves around Shizuka first up is Takopi the alien from the Happy Planet who comes to Earth to spread joy he’s voiced by Kurumi Mamia best known for playing Hamaro the title character of Hamaro it’s been a while since I’ve seen that show it aired from 2000 to 2013 so over a decade ago even today toys and plushies are still being made so even if someone hasn’t seen the anime chances are they still know who Hamaro is other major roles include Leo the little person from the dress Rosa arc in One Piece and Maron the talking stuffed cat from the Pretty Cure series two seasons ago mamy Asan has a fairylike mascot style voice that suits simple innocent characters like Takopi who doesn’t really overthink things for better or worse next is Shizika the girl Takopi tries to help she’s voiced by Aarina Oa who recently played Cure Lillian in Wonderful Pretty Cure which aired until February this year she also voices Canaori in the upcoming Demon Slayer Kimsun Noya movie in fact she’s confirmed to appear as a guest in this year’s Pretty Cure movie as a returning character from the previous season and she’s also in the Chainsaw Man movie coming in September not to mention the Project Sakai film this winter that’s four movies this year alone on top of that she’s been in tons of TV shows lately a truly in- demand voice actress in recent anime she plays Haruno Akiyama a manga artist in the spring series Mono and in the upcoming summer anime she’s voicing miniskirt Santa in the latest entry of the Rascal Does Not Dream series Does Not Dream of a Santa Claus she also co-stars in that one with Konomi Kohara who we’ll talk about next koharasan plays Marina the classmate who bullies Shizuka fun fact Takopi started airing on June 28th which also happens to be Koharasan’s birthday Happy Birthday she’s best known as Chica Fujiwara in Kaguya Sama Love is War and also also as Cure Milky in Star Twinkle Pretty Cure making her another Pretty Cure alum like Reoa kagayyasama just had a new TV special announced details are unclear but it’s likely a 4 episode arc like the previous one not a full season 4 kohara and Waya frequently co-star and one show that had similar vibes to Takopi was Let This Grieving Soul Retire wherea’s character was often crying after being set up by Kohara’s scheming character actually characters often end up crying now that I think about it back to Kohara’s 2025 roles this spring she voiced Shiroa Naruse in Summer Pockets she’s supposed to be the main heroine but the story rotates between characters like a romance game so she didn’t get much screen time in the first 12 episodes here’s hoping for more in the second core this summer she’s voicing Sarah Himei one of the heroins in Rascal Does Not Dream of a Santa Claus once again co-starring with Raina Waya i’m planning to make a voice actor summary video for that series when it airs so stay tuned lastly among the main cast is Auma Shizuka and Marina’s classmate she’s voiced by Anna Nagas who played Ushio Kofune in Summertime Rendering and Rico Ammonai in the Jiu-Jitsu Kaizen prequel arc if you’re into Jump manga you’ve probably seen her around summertime rendering is a time loop mystery where the protagonist keeps dying and going back to the past to solve the mystery kind of like Takopi now that I think about it in Blue Box another Jump series where Raina Ua voiced the heroine Nagasi voiced a basketball teammate so yeah both of them show up in Jump anime a lot in 2025 she plays Natskco Hiro the protagonist of the winter anime Zenhu this summer she’ll voice Makina one of the two leads in Milky Subway a galactic train themed series zenshu is an original anime disguised as an isekai adaptation from Shosatsuka Ninaro with extremely highquality animation but honestly even after finishing it I still have no idea what the story was about now for some of the side characters from episode 1 first is Happy Mama who’s probably Takopi’s mom you only see her squid-like legs she’s voiced by Mamiko Notto who also played Prospera another mom in Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury and the Empress Daager in The Apothecary Diaries whenever she plays a mom there’s always this unsettling atmosphere even when her lines aren’t extreme next is Chappie Shizuka’s beloved dog voiced by Natsumi Fujiwara she also voices Damian Desmond in Spy Family and the new character Ult in Pokémon her dog bark is seriously impressive honestly Chappie might be the most tragic character in the whole series then there’s Marina’s mom voiced by Aayumitsamatsu once she’s animated with a voice and expressions she becomes truly terrifying definitely not a show to watch late at night sununamatsu also played Marina Ismael in Mobile Suit Gundam Zerotar and Kirio Hikune one of the Zero Division captains in Bleach she even commented how emotionally draining the Takopi recording sessions were totally understandable that wraps up the voice cast section one last bonus it’s been announced in advance that Takopi’s original Sin will have six episodes total that’s half the length of a typical anime but the first episode alone is around 38 minutes 1.5x the usual it’s a unique format that only works because it’s streaming only clearly the creators weren’t thinking about TV broadcasts at all even with the handicap of not airing on TV and a plot that certainly isn’t for everyone this anime has the potential to resonate deeply with those it does connect with so I really hope it gains momentum through streaming and who knows if it does well maybe we’ll get an anime adaptation of Tyizen 5’s other work The Ichinoi Family’s Deadly Sins see you in the next video
