The fact that there are 2 warnings at the beginning shows how sensitive and serious this anime is.
6:42 – woah dude… even I won't go so far to suggest offing a kid.
7:48 – kek, that mindset is just naiveté.
8:43 – well these days with parents being absolute Karens, teacher's have become complacent. But… the manga is misery, so a lot of shit get's ignored at this school.
28:33 – I guess hindsight is a bitch lol. If anything about this show, don't instantly throw accusations on anyone. I've read most of the manga and there are things there that just flip the script a lot so I would rather look at the moment and let the story slowly reveal it's hand.
In regards to teachers, my father is a relief teacher, and he's glad he doesn't bother with all of the shit that happens in school these days. They aren't paid enough to discipline kids (it's what parent's are meant to do), and if they do care, guess who get's chewed out? Said teacher get's reprimanded from the dean, principal, PTA, and even parents. That's why teaching these day isn't a glamourous job and if you are young can be soul crushing.
Then there's teachers who just want to indoctrinate kids by teaching them stuff that will not help them in their future and also enable a lot of bad attitudes with kids, but that's a whole other rant that I can't be bothered with.
Imagine an anime watch party that was Takopi's Original Sin, Shadowstar (Narutaru), Alien Nine, and She the Ultimate Weapon…. For a break, you could watch Watamote.

just DAMN ! i just watched this episode before coming here , and what a roller-coaster of emotions . i cried like 3 times watching this , very strong hitting story and something so common that happen all over the world with children to adults also .if this was episode 1 my soul just shutters to think what else can happen in future episodes :/

bro was so outrage, but trust me, this is the situation in EastAsia, it's worse in Korea, sometimes the TEACHERs are parts of these bully shit. I have known some teachers bully students just because they have bad grades. This is fxcked up and that's why there are works about bully in school like Takopi. The education system in EastAsia is far more strict.
I remember there was a story in a school in Jordan about four kids who burned a student at school and burned 73% of his body.
This show is messed up, I am pretty messed up myself and this pilot episode reminded me why bother thinking the whole chain of events shown in this episode is fkd, when i'm pretty much like this.
anyways, trivia: this was an hour and 13 minutes watch on joe's stream, condensed down to 29. the amount of conversation we had just regarding instances like this happening irl and how graphic the depiction of bullying and adultery the anime showed here was truly one of its kind.
we were all shaken, and to me, Oshi no Ko's pilot episode really had a soft landing compared to this one. donno why i did the comparison but welp.

They did a very good job recreating the look and feel of Taizan 5's artstyle. I love the messy linework on the characters in this series and Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins. It works especially well since the background art in the manga is always so detailed in contrast.

About the not eating lunch thing, in Japan school lunch cost about 5000 yen (34.5 usd) per month but if you’re poorer than the certain standard you don’t have to pay it. So they’re probably bullying her for not paying for lunch or maybe even eating it with “their money” (because the unpaid lunch would be covered with taxes, the bullies mentioned how her family don’t pay taxes too)) and eventually get her into not wanting to eat it anymore.

If you're a teacher, a good and kind teacher, and then a bullying case came out from your class, your credibility as teacher will be questioned. Like, i'm teaching the right way, but why my student still bully others?
No matter what you do to stop your student to not bully others in school, it's useless, because they can do it outside school, even with worse outcome.
You can't protect the victim 24 hours, and you can't makes the bully regret about it, most case making them hating more to the victim. They think they got punished because the victim asked for adult's help.
It's happen in any country, and we can't change other's into kind person except they themself want to change.
And any school doesn't want to be famous as a school of bully. They tried to hide it as much as they can. So mostly they can't do anything, especially if it's happen outside school.
It's kinda funny when you ask why the teacher not doing anything. If they interfere, they will faced with bully parents that refuse to believe that their children is a bully.
Don't be naive. There's a lot of stakes just to protect 1 children and your own job.
I'm not saying impossible, but making bully understand that what they did is wrong, is as hard as telling criminals to confess. They know they are bad person but doesn't want to acknowledge it. Once they admit it, either they start believing that they are evil to begin with, or they are start hating good people because they think good people is their enemy.
Yup, there's a lot more, but what i want to say is bullying problem is not gonna solved magically just by having a teacher to involved in it. Too naive~
