I use one of my commands to force you to give it to me. And you may never take it back from me. Take which back? The grail. Like he’s like, I’ll never even let you touch it. You like the whole dynamic there where like Tokiomi is like the head of one of these super ancient magic families and very proud guy, but he’s like bowing down to someone who’s supposed to literally be his servant. But I I feel like it’s pretty good cuz these guys have their own personality. So it’s like why wouldn’t you you know that you have the power to force them to do what you want three times. So, as long as you just play along with them and convince them that like they want what you want, then you get what you want and you can in in the end like you know and you can kind of see that’s kind of what Tokyomi is doing. You can see his face when he’s like this is where you can kind of see the advantage of being one of these like many generational mage families versus what’s his name again? Waver. waiver that was like like he he he didn’t really know what to expect and was really thrown off by the fact that his servant was like kind of telling him what to do and like not receptive to him and he was almost used the the power right away and then he kind of had to calm himself down. But I imagine that this guy was very familiar with the fact that you know who this guy was going to be. Who this guy was going to be. And not only that, but how any of these people can behave once they It’s kind of like with how Kit Kiritsugu was was talking about Saber. Mhm. How like he was concern he’s kind of concerned about there’s already some kind of friction with them just based on their personalities and Yeah. with Waiver and Ryder. Uh yeah, I’m amazed Gilgamesh materialized with an archer class considering the reputation for solo combat. Well, he just did solo combat. I can let handle things from here. Everything is proceeding according to plan. H What do you think of that? I don’t know. Cuz that guy didn’t look like he was still dead down there. What? Didn’t he I couldn’t see anything just now. It’s like a gaping hole. I know, but I didn’t see his dead body. You do? No, I said I didn’t. Yeah, he’s it’s not there. Yeah. So, he might have disappeared or he I This could just be like what he was saying of like Well, he also just said, “Kir, I’ll let you handle things from here.” Yeah. And that was his servant that came in to try and kill him. And then Gilgamesh was talking about all these like, “Oh, your games are blah blah blah.” So, I think it’s kind of saying that they sacrificed his servant on purpose. Yeah. Just to hype this other guy up or for some kind of reason. Who knows what? Um, Gilgamesh was a hero in ancient Mesopotamian mythology and protagonist of the epic of Gilgamesh. Yeah. So, he’s like who’s Gilgamesh? Gilgamesh. He’s Well, he’s it’s like uh there’s a lot going into it if you don’t know anything about it. He has a bunch of it’s a historical thing. Yeah. Like like King Arthur even though it’s, you know, I know that’s one thing I kind of like is it’s like King Arthur not a real person. Yeah. I mean, I think that there’s discrepancies about like how much is based on reality, how much is not. Obviously, you didn’t kill a dragon, but uh not wizards. Yeah, there’s no uh no wizards or sword and the stone or whatever, but you know that whole [ __ ] like it’s it’s and you know the way that she’s talking about Britain like how she’s like I I need to save Britain or whatever. That’s her [ __ ] thing. I just like how they mix kind of like it’s a there’s already magic. There’s already uh like they do like fictional historical figures as if they’re like real but like you know, but then there’s like other people who are like actually historical figures. I don’t know. I just I like it. I like I like the way they handle all that stuff. Assassin was killed. Big news. One of the seven is already out. Hey, mean some rice crackers. Did you get it? He didn’t have these in his time. Just like I never would have conquered anything if I had a TV. The Holy Grail War has started. I’ve been out gathering information. You sit around eating cookies, watching stuff on the VCR. Worse than a rat. I told you that I always want you to take spirit form when I don’t need you. Nobody cares if assassin is dead. Only thing he’s good at is skulking around in the shadows. You could never pose a threat, right? Here, this is I don’t get the feeling that you’re like the exact kind of guy that he would pose a threat to. They call B2 thinking about buying 10 or so. Be faster to just buy the whole country outright. Oh, I see. So the question is where to procure the money. Yeah. Oh, this is what allows you to conquer things. Plunder it and get what we need. City nearby. Biggest obstacle for us will be this Clinton guy. You will prove a more formidable opponent than Darius III. Some good use from these tomahawk things too. The three great knight classes. Mention the berserker whose sole skill is to break things are going to be toasted when he uses that noble fantasm of yours. Just leaves caster to worry about. Yeah, there’s some things they don’t like spell out outright, but it’s like Tokiomi, I think in episode one said that he has a bunch of familiars everywhere gathering information for him. Oh, okay. I see. That’s what at the start of the scene. Yeah, the rat. I see. The rat. Yeah. Normally, a servant only has one noble fantasm, right? But how many isn’t the correct way to conceptualize a noble fantasm? Noble fantasm is the physical manifestation of a hero’s most indelible legend. Sometimes it may be a specific ability or special method of attack. Is there a noble fantasm that consists of throwing dozens of swords? Sword that makes copies of itself that could still qualify as a single noble fantasm. Those swords weren’t copies. Each one of them had a completely different shape. Ah, forget it. We’ll just have to discover each of our enemies identities as we encounter them. need to head to the gym. Do you really think that would be wise? It’ll be more fun. Food, sex, sleep, and more. Two days ago, I was able to confirm the summoning of the final cirly Grail War servants should have now arrived. One unaccounted for. I had hoped that all the masters would be watching and taking note of the encounter. This point in the war, observing the three families estates would be a master’s obvious course of action. That’s right. Holy. They can’t even think to do that. It would never even begin to occur to them to worry about the existence of us assassins. It’s an order of assassins. Holy, there’s so many. We shall become true shadows in the darkness. Seems a little bit OP. Is now at hand. These tired old eyes of mine will finally see a wondrous miracle be performed. I was thinking like if he wasn’t dead then like publicly killing the assassin one that but actually not doing it would be such a great move because then the assassin could go and assassinate people while they are not cuz otherwise they would be like okay at any moment the assassin could come and get me. But if you publicly kill the assassin it’s like okay I don’t have to worry about the assassin coming and get me. I just have to think about everyone else. Yeah. So they posted So like they knew that people would be watching. Yeah. They knew that like everybody’s waiting for the last one to be summoned. Everybody’s waiting for it to kick off. So they know Tokyo Toaka is confirmed. Like everyone knows that by that point. So and he his house is in Fuyuki like right where the [ __ ] is going down. So the everyone who knows anything about the Holy Grailer War, which is everyone except for the guy Rio Rionoske, the murderer dude. Everyone is watching. So watching his house cuz it’s the one place other than the that outside that church which they aren’t allowed to watch. Yeah. That people would like know to put a familiar. It’s like okay if I’m going to watch somewhere it’s probably going to be Tokyo Mitosaka’s [ __ ] house that’s just in the city where the [ __ ] is taking place and he’s the guy that’s you know like it’s it’s the most obvious place. So it’s exactly and it gives them a reason to think that assassin is taken care of which lets assassin do their job which is kind of crazy if there’s like all of these assassin guys cuz it’s like Yeah. I I wonder what the logistics are of how many or like Well, cuz there like you have all these ones, but then it’s like how how can he have more than one? Or is it like my thought originally before they all showed up at once was that it was kind of like a cat with nine lives kind of thing where the assassin in question had so many different identities that like you can kill each one, not that it was different people, you That that was kind of my original thought of like he can he can die because that was just a part of uh the or not even he necessarily just a part of this like persona of the assassin. Yeah. Well, it’s you you are kind of right. Yeah, it’s I I since it’s like kind of revealed it’s like I said it’s Assassin’s Creed is based on I think that I don’t know if Mas is their headquarters only in Assassin’s Creed. I know I mostly know them from the game Assassin’s Creed mostly Assassin’s Creed 1 which is one of my favorite games ever. Masio Castle. Yeah. So, the Shia Nisari Ismilei sect, also known as the Assassins. And I figure history history in the Crus Crusades. Mas Castle was a castle where they they exist. That’s like the the main home base in the game in Assassin’s Creed. But yeah, in the Crusades in Syria in 1166 to 1193, they were uh yeah, an order of assassins that like performed political assassinations when the crusaders from Europe were occupying the Middle East. They were like sweeping across the Middle East in this holy war and yeah, they the assassins were a separate kind of order that I I’m not sure if they were mercenaries or what the exact deal is. I think that they were sort of just defending their homeland and uh undermining the occupation at the time by assassinating. So the idea is they want to be as unknown as possible. They want to like literally like kind of what I was saying before like Kakashi. Yeah. You know this you’d want to avoid being a Kakashi. So, the the idea of like, oh, I’m Hassan, the assassin, the well-known assassin named Hassan. And it’s like, well, I guess, yeah, with the with a it’s kind of a cheat code. It is kind of a cheat code cuz it’s like you would never know how many there were. Like, you know, whether whether it’s one person or 20 people. No one would ever know if they’re doing their job right, you know? Yeah. I think it’s a really cool I think it’s a really cool representation cuz have you ever seen like a stats or anything? The guys in like the white cloaks? Not really. I mean, I’ve seen probably like a couple clips, but not really. It’s like it’s is the start of the series. I guess it’s kind of drifted in and out, but it’s like they they wear all these white clothes. They’re very like normallooking people. So, for that to be the main sort of representation that modern people, at least in the West, know of that like as as a person who liked those games and who was who liked that kind of idea and aesthetic. It’s like regular European like there, you know, they they got knives, they got swords all over them, they look like regular people just in like a white hood. to know that and have that be the image of this type of person and then to watch this and how they kind of interpret it or represent that kind of idea in a different way I think is really cool. So this is where Kitty Tuku was born. Well Saber, how did you enjoy your journey through the sky? Really nothing to speak of. It was far simpler than I had actually anticipated. Upon materialization, all servants receive knowledge of the modern world. Yeah, I was kind of wondering about that. If required, I could even pilot this aircraft. Are you serious? That’s not common knowledge of this world. Saber command any beast or vehicle with the only exception being fantasmal or divine beast. Still, he must be the only servant who has flown in an airplane in physical form. If only I could take spirit form. No, I didn’t mean it like that. Really, I never tired of watching you. Passport. It means that you’re being stuck in physical form isn’t without its merits. It’s given me many enjoyable hours. I think it’s the outfit. Yeah, they they don’t look very normal. Is this manner of dress truly common for women of this era? Used it for you to balance out my own outfit. You don’t care for it? No, it is fine. Is rather easy to move. Since my husband’s not with me, you’ll be wearing his clothing. Yeah, exactly. She literally dress I like that must be it. Like Yeah. But it’s just funny. She’s like, “Oh, it’s about He wears black. I wear white. That’s just the way it is. If he’s not here, you will wear black so that I will wear white. And then our servants will wear a combination of black and white and weird hats. Yeah. But uh obviously Saber is or Arttoria is used to being dressed as a a man. Yeah. So besides, I am used to dressing as a man. Yeah. It’s kind of funny. This place is so very alive. Kiritsuku was supposed to have arrived here in Japan already 12 hours before us. But don’t worry, he’ll find us as soon as he’s certain the time is right. For the come to keep things so that we can When the time comes, we should first concentrate on securing a base of operations. We’ve come all this way to such an exciting place. Like no one else has that in their plans that there needs to be like some kind of sacrifice, you know, right? Like none of the other it’s not like, oh yes, we all have the person going after the grail and then we have the person that is their sacrifice for later, you know, right? Madam Irisfield and Saber have just arrived here in Fuyuki as well. The other masters will likely assume that she is Saber’s master and act accordingly. Understood. Yeah, it’s so This is also why it’s smart to just set up a C. I mean, I guess you have to have the resources available to have someone else go and set up this camera for you. I mean, I guess maybe you could get a familiar to set up a camera for you. I’m not sure how much control you have over it, but like then they can replay the footage and look at it closely and know what it is instead of like waiver where it’s just like, “Okay, what did you say? What happened?” He’s like, “I don’t know. It literally happened in 1 second and I was looking at it and I was sleeping like but they said five other or four other masters. So that would be six total which means they know that he knows because they it’s not unless it is caster. It could be Caster and they and it could be Caster if the guy leaving out Caster was leaving out him. Yeah. If the if the guy was was and then maybe maybe that’s a decoy that we thought that it was him. I mean he could also have a familiar there. Just uh who’s he? We’re talking about five different people now. Uh this guy. I can’t remember. Kitugu or his wife? Does she have famili like does she or does she have anything? She might have some magic. But yeah, either I I don’t know which they’re doing. I think that I think it’s maybe supposed to be a little bit ambiguous. We know that they know, but because he’s using cameras and uh she set up the camera, maybe they detected that she was there, but the assassin might not be so observant of that unless they were observant of that. It’s either Rionoske uh or Caster did it and he was the the fourth or they know that Kitigu knows, but we don’t know. Insufficient time between assassin’s infiltration and the Toaka servants attack. Assassin has a skill that masks his presence, making it improbable he was detected in advance. Toaka was expecting an intruder. Learning their identities is quite critical. Why would Tosaka expose his servant like he did? He must have had a very good reason. What became of assassin’s master? He took refuge in a church last night. The overseer declared him to be under. Did I mention his overseer is also his father? [Music] the one guy you’re terrified of. Send a familiar to watch the Fuyuki church. Oh, familiar. So, she probably set it up with a familiar to take action inside the neutral zone that’s been established. He’s already cheating. Place it just far enough away that the priest won’t be able to spot it. You only see the church itself, but you could see who who’s going in and out of the church by the surroundings. [Music] I always loved that like pistol thing that he has. The And he is a really weird sniper. It’s the WA2000. left here. Where is it? Right here. It’s like a thermal scope that like detects heat. They went through the city, like went shopping at the beach and then went to the beach on a full moon. Mhm. It’s fun to walk around a strange and wondrous new town accompanied by a gallant gentleman. I will without fail. So good. I mean, I guess it makes sense that we’re like gearing up for a fight already. It just it just seems kind of crazy, you know? Yeah. Especially since it’s like kind of long cuz it’s 24 episodes, right? Yeah. Yeah. So, it’s like you think that they would spend, but I mean I guess as it goes along things may get more complicated and stuff always doesn’t kind of end up how you think it’s going to end up because uh like the assassin thing like you know he got killed first episode but then he was not actually dead. So then it’s like you know even if you kill this guy or if you don’t kill this guy or if something else interferes or like you know there could be a million things that could happen. Yeah. And he he was saying that he he feels like he’s being dishonorable by not giving his name before a duel. Like he’s saying like I cuz I guess his master told him not to and he has to obey his master. So that means you know whatever whatever that means. But he was wielding two spears which is pretty sick. Mhm. He looks pretty sick. Mhm. And I like that you we don’t know anything about like he’s been kept out of the light. Yeah. I was like did I just forget about this guy? No. It was the first time we met him. H I guess he’s familiar cuz he’s probably in the OP and stuff but yeah. Interesting. And and yeah, okay. I I like I like this. This is kind of a smart idea of making her have a decoy master. And I don’t know if she’s wearing gloves, so you can’t see the if she has a command seal. And I I wonder if that’s there there’s a couple of things cuz I don’t really know how it works. Apparently, Saber is stuck in physical form, but I do Yeah, I do like the idea of a, you know, having a decoy cuz I was thinking like maybe they’re expecting maybe they’re going to pretend to kill Irisville and then like I don’t know how it works. Like I’m assuming if the master dies then like the they’re taken out of the game. Yeah. Yeah. But but like Yeah. the the summon and the servant would probably just go away cuz they wouldn’t have that bond keeping them there, right? Yeah. So other than the fact that Saber apparently cannot do that, what I was thinking of, you know, if they kill her and then Saber pretends to disappear, but then she’s actually there, which is kind of what happened with the assassin. Yeah. But although I don’t know if Saber would like be as down for that with uh you know wi with that kind of a method. Yeah. that like underhanded like Trixie uh you know kind of not really cheating necessarily but like really deceitful dishonest kind of thing. Dishonorable. Yeah. You like Kiritu and or not Kirku Iris Vil and Saber’s date. Yes. It’s so cute. She’s like you were such a good knight and they got this whole kind of dynamic. Yeah. The perfect gentleman is a woman. The best king of all time is a woman. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah, I like that. I like the the outfit as well. I like that she she dressed her like that. Like like Kisugu. Yeah. And Kitigu cheating on his wife. Cheating on his wife with his [ __ ] assistant. Not great. Although I don’t really know the full dynamics of their relationship cuz there’s a whole thing where he’s going to be the cause of her death. And then they had a kid, but then judging by like the super strange vibe, it was kind of out of obligation. Maybe because it’s like they kind of have to have it’s like their families and stuff. is like they have to have kids to like continue on the mage line and stuff. Mhm. So, yeah. So, I I don’t I don’t like I want to be like, “Oh, he’s terrible,” but I also don’t, you know, I I I don’t I don’t know what the what the whole deal is with like the full scope of their relationship. and like they clearly care about each other and obviously he loves his daughter but then it’s also kind of like a business deal in a way because they’re both like working towards the same thing and she’s going to die anyway, you know? I mean she they seem to really love each other like the way that I think Iris feel like said um like oh and the man that I love is the seventh guy or whatever the this that servant. So, I think that they they genuinely do love each other and he’s he’s very remorseful. I think not like of whatever is going to happen to her, not just because uh of you know cuz he’s like feels bad for her. I think that I think that you know their marriage is is a real marriage. Yeah. At least it seems like. But yeah, you it is kind of you don’t really know that you only have surface level ideas of at this point. So maybe we’ll figure more Yeah. of that out. But he he Jesus he uh he’s holding the yeah the WA2000 is like this really cool sniper. They chose like really cool looking and different weird looking guns for him which I just really like. Like I that’s one thing that I always really liked about this show and something that I don’t like about a lot of different shows like Kaiju number eight especially in the manga. They have these like super powerful like rifles that are attached to their suit or whatever and attach like their aura and their aura fuels these guns. But the guns look just like SOCOM M4s, like what real life people use today. So, I get that, you know, maybe in Japan there’s not as many there’s not like a gun culture like there is in North America. So, there’s there’s not the same like cultural familiarity with guns. So, then you just pick like whatever the coolest kind of looking gun is in a game that you’ve played or whatever. But, like this is like a Longhorn. It’s like a super powerful hand cannon. It’s a rifle but in the form it uses a big rifle hunting rifle sniper rifle char cartridge like bullet in a pistol format. So like that’s a cool thing. You don’t see that. The the only thing that I’ve other otherwise that I’ve seen this in is in Day Z. There’s a this gun’s in Day Z and I remember that cuz I was playing Day Z really hardcore when I watched this for the first time. I’m like, “Oh, that’s so [ __ ] sick.” Um yeah, I do things that it’s it’s in a weird it’s weird looking. This is super weird. It’s a German snipe rifle. He said like the Walther weighs more than uh Ilia. Yeah. Which is his daughter. So yeah, it’s it’s like a big fat sniper. It’s like I think of used in Vietnam for for a very short time. But other than that, I think what’s interesting about having him having guns like that is like even those other ones I feel like look like like less crazy but still weird. And I feel like it kind of suits him cuz he’s not having he’s he’s not picking like the sleekst and most stealthy kind of gun. He’s just picking like these gigantic almost impractical looking guns, but clearly like he knows what to do with it. Like he he knows how to use them, so it doesn’t really matter that they like don’t really look user friendly. You know what? I think the choice of the sniper rifle he’s got. And then there’s like that assault rifle looking one with like the weird scope on it. That’s an AUG. That’s a more common rifle, but like both of those are were in Call of Duty’s shortly before this show was made. So I think that’s but maybe I don’t know in the visual novel like how much of that stuff is featured. But I think like what I appreciate about it is that yeah, it shows a little bit more character than him just like having a regular hunting rifle or just an M4. Not you can it seems like not everyone around is using these guns even within the world. So it’s like he is using these like weird guns. He’s al they’re also all European which is the thing too. They’re European make. Like the Walther is a German company and he’s from he’s like the Eidens I think are in Germany. The AUG is from uh it’s FN I think. No, no, I think that’s also German. Yeah. So, it makes sense that these he’s has these German guns because he’s coming here coming to Japan from Germany. Uh, yeah. So, it I I just like that. But what matters to me is all that lore stuff aside is more that the animators are animating with like interesting looking guns like rather than just a regular hunting rifle. Like visually, it’s more interesting for him to have this weird [ __ ] crazy square sniper rifle. is Walter 2000 or Walther 2000 then rather than a just you know an R seven00 or uh whatever you know random thing like a Barrett 50 cal like the like R700 is the most common hunting rifle that’s a Remington 700 it’s the most common hunting rifle sniper rifle in the world and there’s many different versions of it fabrications of it that are different shapes and stuff like that or different calibers and things but it’s the same kind of I just also was noticing he just leaves his eyes is open when the lady kisses him, which is kind of awkward. Yeah. He has this like dead look to his eyes like he he looks like a character in anime where when they die they’re like the light goes away. He doesn’t have that reflection in his eyes. Yeah. Uh where she does and like all the other characters do. Mhm. And that’s on purpose. Dead inside. Yeah. Well, it’s like when Saber or when Iris Wheel is saying that he looks sad when he’s happy.
