Dual Rulers spoiler late in the video.

My friends and stream viewers are probably sick of hearing me talk about this topic, so, it’s your problem now. c:

  1. Wow… You can really say Daisuke gave these songs "JUSTICE" am I right?? 👀 Get it? Because these songs have Justice's DNA and- …I'ma see myself out-

  2. its also really fun to think about how the meet again leitmotif in juno is evenly paced and very segmented meanwhile in perfection cant please me its erratic and sounds more unified, kinda mirroring what relationship arias soul and jacko had in the games, really amazing stuff

  3. About the bagpipes in Diva of Despair: My read on on it was that Ram is essentially an alien/outsider from the world and the bagpipes are a very alien sounding instrument, or at the least a very unique instrument. Which is fitting given Ram's journey is her learning about everyone's uniqueness and coming to terms that she is also unique. Great video btw!

  4. You do have a point you didn't touch in in the end of the video. Daisuke's magnum opus is named Valentine, Sol is his self insert, but who is it that Sol loves most? That's who Daisuke loves most. Aria. Or Justice. His Valentine.

  5. Symphony and Jack-A-Dandy are my personal favs. I just love Daisuke's music. I regularly listen to a playlist with every track that's on spotify. GG is peak (and BlazBlue music is also great).

  6. "We still get the high pitched and wailing guitars that characterize justice"
That is literally every single intrumental piece of music Daisuke has ever composed

  7. Necessary discrepancy is THE song that got me into the series. Came up as a recommendation a couple years ago and I’ve been a diehard fan since

  8. Thank you for the theory and the great video : I figured out the link between the Sol's Family themes but never linked back to Justice's Meet again and Aria from GG2 !
Good talk 😀 Really great video (and the character poping up during their motif was fun :D)

Funny things lore wise you made me think about:
Dizzy doesn't know where she is from in XX so no Justice motif there, it's hinted she may be related in one of the ends of XX and mostly confirmed in GG2/Xrd (where we got the link first) and 100% made clear by Strive.
I always thought XX being the same timeline as GG2/XRD was strange but with Unika having Ky and Dizzy original themes from their X/XX-era, I like to think it's a nod to the fact she is their daughter from that timeline (or at least the timeline where she was born first before Sin). And with her being from another timeline, she can coexist with the Unika from this era.

The lady on the box for the XRD Soundtrack could be either Ariels which would mean the big bad lady was shown right from the start without us knowing OR a Jack-o earlier design ways before we even meet her in the game (which would explain why she wears what looks like Sol's X-era red jacket as she ends up being Aria and later becoming his wife)

Crawl is my fav from Strive, sorry not sorry XD and i will fight blasting Alexandrite 1 max sound XD
But The WHOLE soundtrack of Strive is peak, I mean for real, right from the start they had me with Smell of The Game and we keep getting bangers every seasons ( Just Lean, Extras, Town inside me, Up and Down, Tenth of Myself, Radiant Dawn and now Carpe Diem)

  9. This was really well done! I'd never connected the musical dots here, but you've got some really compelling thoughts going into this, and even if you don't delve into any musical theory, I think there's some interesting stuff to chew on. Good stuff!

  10. GG2 MENTIONED, THAT'S MY 🐐
Also yeah, Diva is my favorite GG track hands down, that whole OST slaps, but that song will ALWAYS be special to me

  11. It's fascinating, hearing how bits and pieces of Justice's theme get taken out and melded into the themes of later "Aria daughters". Each indelibly carries Justice's legacy, yet are also their own people who express that legacy differently. Up to and including Unika, where the Justice "DNA" is figuratively and literally competing with the DNA of both Dizzy and Ky. So you really need to pay attention to spot Aria's influence.

  12. What a great insight. For education purposes, as far as I know, these are called "leitmotifs". I ran into this whole deal with Undertale/Deltarune, Undertale being almost built around a singular leitmotif. I believe Slayer also has a leitmotif in his Strive and Xrd songs. I don't know about games older than that.

  13. This is a neat introspective, I’ve always thought the “Diva” riff was sort of like Justice’s Serenade, meant to be inhumanely beautiful for something that once was a threat to all living things.

  14. Id guess bagpipes were included in diva of despair for the same reason ramlethal has a 4 leaf clover motif?

  15. This was enjoyable to watch, I didn't know how connected a lot of the characters are to Justice. Good to know what to listen for from now on lol.

  16. Daisuke is such an inspiration. Having all these artist skills to put out the work he wanted to create is awe-inspiring.

On another note, the self insert topic piqued my interest. People have this notion thanks to questionable media; a self insert will always be an artist's favorite character. Sometimes, a self insert is a way for the artist to do soul searching through their works without said character getting the good ending or journey.

  17. Strive: the cost of mass appeal.
Strive is good. But its not a good guilty gear game, because its not really guilty gear at all.

Although id say the same about tekken 8. And id also complain that SF took out an entire dimension of execution *cough sako combos cough*.

call me a jaded milenial, but 'games used to be better back in my day'

  18. YES. Overture is the besr Ishiwatari ost (along bbct) and I've been saying this for yeeeeeeeeeeears. Disagree with the tier list, tho. In my opninion, the only A tier track is Sin's theme and maybe Raven's, the rest are easily SSS

  19. I love Guilty Gear, but the story is so confusing I just gave up and started making up my own lore in my head 😭
Gameplay? Absolute fire. Art style? Masterpiece.
    But the plot? Bro…

Dizzy is Sol's daughter, right? Aria is the one who got pregnant, but Justice is the one who actually gave birth to her.
But Justice is Aria, and Aria’s soul is now in Jack-O — so Jack-O is ALSO Dizzy’s mom??

But wait — Jack-O, Ramlethal, and Elphelt are all technically daughters of Justice too… in a weird artificial-being kind of way. So they’re kind of Dizzy’s sisters? Or daughters of Dizzy’s mom?

So Jack-O is both Dizzy’s sister and her mom, because of Aria’s soul. And since Aria was Sol’s original love, Jack-O is basically Sol’s ex, who’s also the mother of his daughter… but not his wife. Just his current lover. Maybe.

Ram and Elphelt are also Dizzy’s sisters… or maybe her aunts??
Which means Unika is either their niece, or great-niece, or… something that breaks the family tree entirely.

At this point, I don’t even try to understand anymore. The lore is chaos. I’m just here for the gameplay 😅
