Well, hello you amazing, beautiful people. How are you doing? And welcome back to another first time reaction video. So, read in the comments. I have seen that a couple of you been asking for an anime opening that I’ve never even heard of. I don’t even know how to fully pronounce this. A Aquarion Aquarion’s openings. Um, I don’t know how many seasons there are. I can only find one opening and I found an official music video for it. I think it’s by a band or a group called Flying Dog and the song is called Aino. So, that’s what we’re going to check out today. So, press that freaking like button. Press that freaking subscribe button. Make sure you fill up that comment section with recommendations. Every single reaction I do on this channel comes from one of you in that comment section. And without more talking for me, let’s jump into my first time ever reaction to Japanese group Flying Dog with their anime opening Aino. They look really cool. Great camera quality as well. [Music] Oh, the arm movements are awesome. [Music] I [Music] love I was just admiring the fact that not a single person in the background was watching them. None. And I don’t know whether that was on purpose or or whether it’s just like this is quite a normal thing, but not one person in that crowd, which I’m guessing were just random civilians like you or me walking past, was turned around and watched them, which made it just look like such an unbelievably professional shot as well. Also, is this the band that we’re seeing here or is this like a backup dance or something like that? And the reason I’m asking that question is because their dance movements are very well synchronized. If that is the band, [Music] unless it’s just one singer maybe. [Music] I love this. I love this video. The different shots, the camera quality, the the dancing is fantastic. I’m loving that every single one of the every single member, every single person we’re seeing on the screen right now just seems so unbelievably happy. We got these giant smiling faces which really makes that like positive energy of the song just hit that much harder. You know, it just we’re watching four people just have a great freaking time. Also, love that we saw that random older lady just stop and stand right in front of them. It’s amazingly raw and real and a very well put together. [Music] So awesome. I love the outfit designs as well. Their jackets are awesome. It’s a very sweet song about what? Like an immortal being in love. [Music] out of my knee. And what you got on my knee again going [Music] I I I I don’t know what to say. The These kind of videos I always um I always have a soft spot for the kind of videos where they showcase dancing and transitions. This is something you see quite a lot with like high-end sort of K-pop groups. Stray Kids are quite famous for it. Um and that is the smooth transitions from scene to scene. And that is exactly what we are seeing here. We are seeing them go from set to set to set. And the dancing is perfectly well timed and synchronized. Every single time the camera changes to a different location, it’s perfectly in time. The movements are so freaking smooth and just flow brilliantly that it honestly just feels like the set is changing behind them, like someone’s dropping and changing a a green screen because their movements are always so freaking smooth. Everything flows so nicely. I am so impressed. And that she has an outstanding voice, by the way, especially on the chorus when she rides those high notes. Beautiful tone. [Music] There’s a real positive like romantic feel to this song. Just melt your heart. [Music] I’m a big fan of how the outfit changes match the scene location that they’re in, whether it’s the hospital or the classroom or right now at this construction site. [Music] I’m guessing they’re not all flying dogs. Maybe they are. [Music] But it’s just one singer, right? And I’m guessing they are dancers. Oh, never mind. [Music] Wait, I’m going to need your help, guys. I like Who are they? Who are they? Who are all of them? Cuz I’m not sure whether or not this is one vocalist. If the group is even called Flying Dog, maybe the group is called Akino. Maybe she’s called Aino. Maybe. Maybe that’s her name and they’re just backup dancers. Something like that. Maybe the song is something else. That could be the case here. I reckon that’s it. I reckon the group is called Aino. It was uploaded on the Flying Dog channel. I reckon Akeno is her and these are dancers, not the band. That’s my guess. Am I right? [Music] Oh, another room change. You hear that note? Remember when I said that her high notes on the chorus are freaking mesmerizing? That is that is exactly what I’m talking about. That is why that is what I mean. [Music] Great voice. [Music] This is honestly such a sweet song. The lyrics are beautifully romantic. The entire time they have not stopped smiling. They have not stopped having this energetic, happy, positive kind of dance. This whole song is a heartwarming, smile inducing, fantastically wellperformed and transitioned freaking song. How can you not smile? Listen to this. Such a fun song. [Music] Love her voice, by the way. Beautiful voice. I love their energy as a group as [Music] well. I have to learn more, man. I have to learn more. I have to learn more. I need to know more. I have to, like I said, this is my first time ever reaction. I feel like I’m I’m missing something here. Who are they? Let me have a little look. So, my guess, so this is an So, this is the anime opening for uh Aquarion, right? Um Ah, wait, hold on. So, it’s Akeno from Bless. Um the song is Your Ears Are Years. That’s a great title, by the way. And this is part of an album they released, and I’m guessing it came out on the Flying Dog channel. Oh, damn. Akeno. Oh, Aino from Bless 4 actually was on the first take one month ago. Oh, well, if this video does well, maybe we should check out that performance. I I don’t think it’s the same song, Gen Genesis of Aquon. So, is that from the same anime then? It’s got the anime title, right? My word. All right. I had no idea. Um, there’s a first take performance. Okay, so her name is Akeno. I’m guessing the group that we just saw is blessed four, hence there’s four of them, right? Um, and then we now know the title of the song. Okay, so we know we know now. Oh my word, what a beautiful freaking voice. The chorus itself is just absolutely stunning. But definitely the thing for me mostly um that I loved about all of this is the positiveness from start to finish. I felt like I was just watching four people have a good time like go from set to set, from scene to scene, lo changing location so damn seamlessly and just smile the whole time. They were doing these complicated dance moves, perfectly synchronized and just happy and that was the main thing. Every single location, they looked happy. The song itself felt happy and positive and warming and and they are the reason for that. Their smiling faces, their positive energy, you feel that through the freaking screen. You’re sitting here, you’re smiling. It’s a feel-good freaking anthem. And immediately it’s made me want to learn more about them cuz Akeno just has a stunning freaking voice. Amazing presence. Like very captivating. I absolutely want to see more of this. This was outstanding. This was freaking outstanding. An awesome anime opening. I don’t know anything about the anime. Kind of wished you hadn't watched the video so you could focus on the song. The video is awesome, but the song itself is epic!
Saying that you like videos where they showcase dancing (4:10), then you really need to react more to Atarashii Gakko. I would especially recommend their dance practice videos. Their MVs are fire, but to see the full dance choreography, the dance practice videos are great!

Akino is the goat, she and the song is called Genesis of Aquarion like the show
Thanks for checking out this song form Akino. This song's name is called Sousei no Aquarion (the Genesis of Aquarion), the anime has the same name. It was composed by Yoko Kanno, also the composer for cowboy bebop and majority of macross frontier's songs (highly recommend you check out the endings for frontier, you will love it!).
Akino originally formed a music group with her siblings called bless4 in 2003, then she made her solo debut in 2005 with Aquarion Season 1 OP1 (this song) and OP2 (Go Tight). So all the dancers in this music video are actually her siblings. She is number 3 amongst the siblings and all except her eldest brother were born in the US while their father was in the US furthering his education. Her music label or record company is flying dog.
This music video was made to commemorate the 15th anniversary of their (group's) debut and also to honour the various jobs that had supported society during the covid19 pandemic hence the various job scenes. (if you translate the top 2 japanese comments at this music video, there are more interesting info there.)

One thing of note, the band is Called Akino Bless4, named after the singer, the band consist of her and her brothers, they've sung a lot of anime openings including for Amagi Brilliant Park, Girls Frontline and the Kantai Collection opening
The lyrics of the song describe the show, its a mecha but like most mecha its more about character relationships than robot battles, its early episodes are very much like Power Rangers where they have to learn lessons during the episode to solve the actual Giant robot battle, but the song reflects the central premise of the show which is a love story between 2 characters that reincarnate hense the 10 and 2 thousand years mentioned
The show has so many songs sung by her, and its sequel Aquarion Evol aswell, Aquarion Logos doesnt have her, but the Aquarion Myth of Emotion show did bring her back and its ending song genuinely makes me cry everytime i hear it both because im so glad to hear her back but because the sing is very much like the KH3 ending song Oath as both are such somber love songs with her voice bringing me to tears

the plot of aquarion is that 12k years ago a mysterious race of angelic beings with strange powers and highly advance technology called the shadow angels appeared out of nowhere and began harvesting humans’ life force to pollinate their “tree of life” which requires the specific usage of a certain mech also called the “machine angel” and known as aquarion (yes its a giant robot mech) so that the tree gives birth to the next generation of shadow angels as the shadow angels are hermaphroditic and seems to only reproduce through their tree of life
this led to an all out war between the shadow angels and the humans but one of these angels known as apollonius with the title of the angel of massacre ended up falling in love with a human women named celiane so he ended up betraying the shadow angels stealing even the machine angels when he turned and as a result the conclusion of the war is unclear but the shadow angels are sealed in another dimension for the next 12k year at the cost of the death of 4 individuals; apollonious, celiane and 2 other shadow angels closely involved with them
12 years later or well 12k minus 11 years before the start of the story in the anime the earth’s magnetic field shifted and shadow angels returned restarting their plans to harvest humans leading to a large percentage of humans dying around the globe, conventionally human weaponry has no effect against the shadow angels piloting giant mechs but some humans childrens start developing psychic powers thus are referred to as “elements” and then 3 highly advanced fighter planes were unearthed that only an element can pilot… turns out these 3 fighter planes is actually the components of aquarion the machine angel that apollonious stole and used to fight against the shadow angels on the side of humanity all those years ago and it seems that some of these elements now 11 years older as teenagers are reincarnation of the players involved in the event 12k years ago that led to the end of the war

YES, FINALLY! I’ve been the one recommending this opening for years, AKINO is the singer and she’s been the main vocalist for all of the franchises music since the beginning, she was everywhere in the anime industry from the early to mid 2000’s. The music of Aquarion is fantastic and you should definitely listen to more!
Aquarion is a legendary mech anime that tells the story of a long war between Humanity and a angelic race known as as the Shadow Angels, the anime has let’s say cheeky moments in most if not all its episodes spanning from the original series starting in 2005. I highly recommend you watch it, the music alone is worth it and it gets better in the second series Aquarion EVOL.

Aquarion is quite a large series that include 3 or 4 independent seasons (Just like Gundam).
All stories are different, but main idea is the same.
Its fught against unknown enemy (Aliens, parallel worlds, evil organizations) With power of BIG ROBOTS.
And this robots get power from unite of three different peoples. USSUALLY diffrent sexes. and THEIR HORNINESS give more power buffs to robots.
BUT as you can guess if there are THREE pilots and robots get stronger as getiong stronger their sexual desire towards each over…… You know how to save this world yeaaaaaas)
Aquarion is mecha where students attend to an academy to learn how to pilot robots while high ranking officials are trying to stop history from repeating itself. It does focus on the lore a lot of more than you would think with some references to greek mythology. ( P.s. there is ecchi fanservice, but, considering other animes you watch, I don't think you'll bothered.) Also, Aquarion Evol is the sequel series that takes centuries after the original Aquarion.
Crossovers aside there are 4 main entries in the Aquarion franchise: Sousei no Aquarion (aka Genesis of Aquarion which is from 2005), Aquarion EVOL, Aquarion Logos and Aquarion Myth of Emotions. This song here is the OP of the first show. but it was reused in a different version in Myth of Emotions. It's a mecha franchise, but with some very strange metaphysical events going on.

The band does a lot of singing on some of the other aquarion songs, there is a full Acepella version of this song on Akino's youtube using her family (search for "Genesis of Aquarion Akino" and look for the angel wing image video).
Akino has done a few song over the years including all the aquarions and some Final Fantasy 14 songs, "Scream" and "Smile".
Aquarion its self is one of the mecha classics and a very unique story. It tells the saga of a 12,000 year reincarnation cycle of the gods who fell in love with humans, and each Aquarion series is 12,000 years after the last one with a new reincarnation. Its a grand epic.

This is my childhood. Aquarion show the same time with Naruto in my country. Just different channel , when Naruto fight with Haku. Wasn't Naruto fan back then. Then this show was dropped and i watch Naruto since then.
"bless4" it's a band of four siblings (Japanese raised in the United States), AKINO is the youngest and also has her own solo musical career.
Akino was 14 when she originally recorded this song (in 2005).
In the version you reacted to, Akino is 33, and the ones dancing with her are her older siblings (from "bless4").

My memory might be a little rusty, but this should be pretty accurate:
The anime itself is pretty weird. It's about a love story between an angel and human when the angels and humans are at war. Prior to the start of the series, the angel Apollonius defects to join the humans and brings the mechanical angel Aquarion with him (which is essentially a Gundam). The actual story takes place 12,000 years later following the reincarnations of the romantic interests from the war as the angels become active again waging war on humanity again. The weirdest part though, is that it takes 3 pilots to control Aquarion and doing so basically makes the characters orgasm. That bit alone makes it hard to recommend, but the story of the romance, war, and reincarnation is actually pretty compelling (to me anyway).

Why do I cry
This song has always had a special place in my heart because I liked the song and was looking up covers of it (even though I never saw the anime), and I found Suisei's cover of it back in 2018 or something, and that's how I discovered Hoshimachi Suisei.

Short clarification:
Aquarion is a franchise of multiple series, with each having 2 openings.
Sousei no Aquarion, Aquarion EVOL, Aquarion Logos and Sousei no Aquarion Myth of Emotions. While Evol is a direct sequel to the first series, Logos is a standalone story and different timeline. And Myth brings back the base concepts of the first 2, while still being a new timeline with no direct connection.

You should react to all the Aquarion OPs AND the EDs as well, most of them are also done by this same group (as well as multiple insert songs). That said, it's difficult to find the TV versions on Youtube, in most cases searching for them will only get you the full songs.
