[Dangerous techniques] Ganseki-otoshi & Sacrifice throw! Aikido x Keiburyu x Karate [Part 1]

A special collaboration between Goju-ryu, Aikido, Keibu-ryu, and Karatedo has been realized! Hello, I’m Ryuji Shirakawa. And Hayate-sensei, Amemiya-sensei, and Ken-san. I’ve been looking forward to it. I contacted him many times and this shoot finally happened. Huh, is this your first collaborative shoot?
That’s right. We had talked about wanting to do a collaborative shoot someday. And finally it happened. This time I would like to talk about the movie “TATSUJIN”. How was the shoot?
It was really hot, wasn’t it? Yes, it was extremely hot.
Everyone was sweating while filming. That’s right. I’m used to shooting in hot weather, but that was way too hot. How was Mr. Amemiya?
It was really hot. You ate candy to replenish your salt intake. Oh yeah! I drank sports drinks and ate candy to prevent heatstroke. Now, this time, Hayate-sensei will teach us Goju-ryu techniques. The Goju-ryu you practice is different from the general Goju-ryu, right?
That’s right! We practice the techniques of Goju-ryu as a martial art before it becomes competitive. It’s different from normal Goju-ryu techniques, right?
That’s right. We cannot participate in such competitions. The techniques are similar to normal Goju-ryu, but I feel that the quality is slightly different. That’s right. I think it is simply a difference in styles, with Goju-ryu in general being the most famous. Now, could you show us a little bit of your technique?
Huh? There are various techniques, right?
That’s right! Could you show me a little bit of your techniques?
What techniques would you like to see? I just don’t understand. We haven’t had a meeting! I understand how Mr. Shirakawa feels. We don’t really understand. I would like to see techniques that show the difference from regular Goju-ryu. Ah, I understand! I’m going to play “Seisan”! It’s different from a common technique, isn’t it? I have learned Okinawa Kenpo Karate. The basic movements are the same, but it feels more like a beast. Hayate-sensei’s techniques appear in the movie, and it’s looks like animal movements. That’s right. It was originally developed from Hakutsuru Ken, so many of the techniques imitate animal movements. The technique from earlier also imitates the movements of cats. It moves more like tigers than cats. There are also throwing techniques, right?
That’s right. Karate does not have the image of throwing techniques.
Yes. Please teach me your throwing techniques too!
Understood! “Ganseki-Otoshi” Today we also have mats for your safety. This is Seienchin’s technique. Huh, is that Ganseki-Otoshi? Mr. Hayate! Please use the mat!
I thought I was going to be thrown to the floor. This is Ganseki-Otoshi. It actually knocks the opponent’s head down to the ground.
He did it safely. Are you doing KINTEKI?
That’s right. When I do “Seisan”, I use KINTEKI. Wonderful! He is carrying him after doing KINTEKI. I would like to try it too.
Of course! This is dangerous!
I would like to try the technique without using a mat. Aikido also has Ganseki-Otoshi, right?
That’s right! It’s dangerous if you don’t do Ukemi. You can also drop it on your head on purpose. Similar to Death Valley Bomb! Aikido also has a technique called Ganseki-Otoshi. Wait! Use the mat! It’s dangerous, so please do it here. Ganseki-Otoshi (Aikido) Is amazing! There is also a technique in wrestling called the Fireman’s Carry. It’s the same movement! Aikido doesn’t do this technique very often, because it’s not common. shoulders are strong and can lift people very easily. Wow!! It’s so high! It feels like a similar technique. Hayate-sensei uses KINTEKI, but Aikido uses Strike. Aikido: Strike → Throwing technique Goju-ryu: KINTEKI → Throwing technique Aikido, Goju-ryu I think the trajectory of each technique is different. Hayate Sensei’s technique is a parabola, but Shirakawa Sensei’s technique is highly elevated. There is also a gentle technique called Ura-Ganseki-Otoshi. A gentle? What are you talking about?
It’s true! “Ura-Ganseki-Otoshi” Originally a dangerous technique, but I am throwing him to safety. Aikido is safe and secure. I use techniques to throw safely. Carrying and throwing is called “Ganseki.”
That’s right. Mr. Amemiya has more dangerous techniques. There are various techniques.
Please explain.
I will experience it! We lock our opponent’s wrists and elbows this way. Since the joints of the arms are locked, the center of gravity of the body is raised upwards. Actually, I would just throw him, but it’s very dangerous, so I’ll adjust the force a little. This also knocks the opponent off their head, right?
That’s right. Similar to Daitoryu’s Shumoku. There is also a technique like this that Shirakawa-sensei and Hayate-sensei were doing earlier. There is also a technique of throwing by holding the opponent’s hips.
How do you throw? Please take it slow! In this case, the opponent can hold back from being thrown. So I let him lower his head and hold him down with my feet. In this state, lift him upwards. Amazing! ! I feel my center of gravity rising higher and higher. At first I can bear it so I don’t fall, but when my head drops and my hips lift, I can’t. It felt like the easiest to lift. I would also like to try it without a mat. We take photos with safety in mind. Please don’t imitate me. If you don’t have an obi, you stick your hand into your opponent’s waist. Then, throw him. Soooo dangerous! ! He smiles and says “dangerous”! Is this the “Katsugi-age”?
That’s right. You’re actually going to drop him from his head, right?
There are cases like that. Similar to Emerald Flowsion! I may also lift my opponent higher and then drop them. Or sometimes I use KINTEKI. This is a very dangerous technique. Since one leg is in the air, I think it could easily be thrown. Sometimes I use Sutemi. You use your own body weight.
I’m sure it would be effective if I made it into a Sutemi technique. What is Sutemi?
It is a technique in which you use your body weight to throw at your opponent.
I see! When your opponent put his head down, his neck stretches, so if you put your weight on it, you can cause great damage to him. That’s Sutemi. Goju-ryu also has a similar technique. Hold your opponent’s arm and fall together towards the ground. I’ll get hurt! Hold your opponent’s arm and fall together towards the ground. It’s actually a technique that slams the opponent into the ground. Bang your head.
Injure your neck. That’s right. Now he has been very kind to me. I don’t really spin around, I slam my opponent into the ground. I see! You don’t rotate yourself, do you? That’s right. This time it was dangerous, so we did Ukemi together. Otherwise he must get hurt. What Kata is this?
This is Sanseru. This is a technique used when your opponent has your shoulder. By the way, does Aikido have a Sutemi technique? It is not used in normal Aikido.
Is that so! You created techniques? No, there are some teachers who do Sutemi techniques. But it is not a modern official Aikido technique. But Sutemi techniques are very effective and common in koryu martial arts. This is an effective technique when fighting an opponent with a weight difference. Do you ever perform Sutemi techniques while locking an arm?
Yes! I use that technique frequently. Is falling down with your opponent called “Sutemi”?
That’s right! If you don’t do Sutemi, the technique will be like this. He’s very good at throwing! It was easy to take Ukemi. This is a common technique. It is truly an Aikido-like move! This is Sutemi. There are various forms of techniques. That’s a great technique! It’s effective because it takes your weight. And it’s a very good technique because the trajectory is difficult to understand. It is also effective to lock the joints.
It’s very dangerous. Too dangerous! It’s very dangerous. Does Amemiya-sensei have any similar techniques?
There is! Sutemi technique is a common technique in ancient martial arts. There are several types of techniques. If your opponent grabs your chest, hold his collar. My elbow is locked. Then use the hand holding the collar to compress the carotid artery and collarbone. It hurts! Rotate together while holding your opponent’s arm. If it’s true, I’ll break my arm. It’s very scary. Please try again from a different angle. The way you stand up is so cool! Aikido also has a similar technique. When attacked by Yokomen, I usually do “Tenbin-Nage”. Hold the collar and rotate together. Let’s try it without a mat. It’s okay. I’ll take it slow. Similar to Dragon Screw!
I agree! But this technique is very dangerous because the joints are locked. At this point, I lock his elbow. And hold the collar. But this time I’ll hold it a little more gently. So dangerous! Amemiya-sensei, this is similar to your technique, right?
That’s right. Well…… Next preview We will show you an even more dangerous techniques. Look forward to it!

  6. I guess the Advantage of Grappling is you can test deadly Techiniques in safe mode because the ground is soft in dojo, You can't test Karate Techiniques made to kill.
