This episode was time for both Maomao daddies and Jinshi's mom to shine.
Loumen made that specific list just as he had 20 years prior in order for Maomao to put the pieces together. Loumen had probably figured everything out the moment he walked back into the rear Palace, but he is leaving it to his great niece/adopted daughter to do her thing. Which of course she did. Which led to her capture. The biggest question I have is, is whether whoever the heck Shisui really is in on the plot and just pretending to be a hostage, or do her captors not know her true identity either? If she's in on it then Lady Loulan is in on it because there is for sure some connection with Shisui and Lady Loulan. Lady Loulan is the daughter of Shishou. So it is only a a question of if Lady Loulan is on her fathers side or not.
Lakan putting the gears to Prime Minister Shishou. Lakan: 'We went a little hard on the would be assassins and they lost the ability to speak before they told us what we wanted to know… So what do you know Prime Minister Shishou?' Also, Remember the test MaoMao helped the Emperor and Jinshi with that only a colour blind person could figure out? That was the same test Lakan pulled with the Grape Juice. Proving that Shishou is colour blind. Is this all because he feels his is the true bloodline and the current Emperor is illegitimate? Also, Lakan can be a bit of a jerk, but he really does love his girls. He truly loves his wife, and also Maomao.
Ah-Duo posing as her son was also interesting. Mom holding things down at the Palace while Jinshi is off to be the hero. Of course Jinshi would drop everything and go after Maomao the moment he found out she was taken.
So many plots on top of plots, and so much scheming. This season is getting intense! I might have to actually read the books to get a better understanding of all this cause there is a lot going on all at once.
