  1. This episode was nuts, honestly even as someone who has studied this series up and down it confused me a little, like the way they're showing the moles in the US security force makes me scratch my head with the two seperate instances of them nearly firing on civilians, clearly something is up.

This weapon that Unika copied the key for, this show is the first time in the series that we've seen or heard of it, you know just as much as everyone else does at this point. The fact that it was dropped basically on top of Elphelt is crazy. Guilty Gear characters are tough, especially the non-human ones, but like can she really tank that? She should be about equal to her sister Ramlethal, who back in Xrd nearly died in an explosion caused by a special type of Gear, she probably would have died if a certain character didn't intervene, so yeah, dropping an orbital laser on Elphelt? Kinda nuts. I don't think they'd kill her off so unceremoniously though, it's just weird.

And yeah, Sin, he's the grandson of the Gear that waged the crusades against humanity, she was named Justice. Tragically, Justice was built by humans using Sols at the time terminally ill partner, Aria, as the base, but then a being known as The Universal Will (the same being that made Elphelt and Ramlethal btw), essentially made Justice go crazy, causing her to use her power to command Gears to bring humanity to its knees. Sin has never once used that power until now, and I find it poetic that he used it to control a Gear that almost certainly had caused havoc once upon a time, to save Unika by cushioning their falls. I didn't think we'd ever he him use or even grapple with the fact that he has this power, it's very interesting that they're doing this.

Bridget is my favorite character so I'm just so interested in what's going to happen with her and Unika next episode, I'm so excited that she's plot relevant, in the past her story has been very self contained, which is fine but y'know it's cool to see them do more with her. I really don't know if they're gonna fight, Bridget really didn't look aggressive at all here y'know. If they did fight I really don't know how Unika would do, yeah she's really strong but she's still reeling from that last fight, and Bridget yeah is just a human but she is extremely strong, strong enough to spar with Ky in his Dragon Install form, strong enough to defeat Goldlewis Dickinson aka the US Secretary of Defense, super huge powerful guy, strong enough to claim the title of top class bounty hunter, people sleep on Bridget honestly, mostly cuz she's not that major of a character, also probably partially cuz she's so cute lol. But yeah, there's a lot of ways this could go based on everything I know about Bridgets past, I think it's likely she'll be empathetic towards Unika like Sin is, I think since she's a human, and one who in the past has been close with Gears like Dizzy, she'll have perhaps a valuable perspective in this conflict. They could also connect the message of Bridgets story, of defining yourself based on what you want to be rather than what other people want, to whatever the secret behind Unika's backstory ends up being.

Also when Elphelt and Jack-O were on the phone there were some cameos of some other playable characters via holograms on Elphelts desk! There was a little girl named Delilah who I think I mentioned in my comment under your episode 1 reaction, but yeah she's found family with Baiken. There was also an elegant looking person with a top hat, they're a Gear named Testament, they have no gender so most people either use they/them or swap between he and she when referring to them. They were under Justices control during the crusades but when Justice died they were finally free and wracked with guilt. They eventually became Dizzy's guardian in the forest. In episode 1 when Johnny handed Dizzy a letter, the letter was from Testament congratulating her on the wedding 🙂 they also showed Faust, once known as Dr Baldhead, he was a brilliant doctor who lost his mind and went on a murderous rampage after a very complicated incident where a young girl who was in his care, died during an operation. At the end of the first Guilty Gear game he regained his senses, and affer discovering his patients death was not his fault but rather part of a larger conspiracy, he set out to uncover the truth while atoning for his sins by traveling the world and helping anyone in need of a miracle doctor. He's been extremely helpful in multiple big events in the series, it's implied he even checked in on Dizzy during her pregnancy with Sin. In Strive his arc came full circle when he sacrificed his mind once again to save another little girl, this time Delilah. He's back to square one again, but he'll never hurt anyone. Lastly, the dragon bird looking thing, is Dr Paradigm, he's an intelligent Gear who became the leader of a colony of Gears on a remote island after the crusades. He's been a big help as well since his introduction to the series. There's a running gag where Sol will call him a bird, to which he INSISTS he is a dragon, lol. I guess the implication with these cameos is that Elphelt was in communication with them for her investigation? Sad that those 4 probably won't be involved in the story going forward, but I mean their fans will be happy to see them at all surely. Delilah, Testament and Faust are extremely popular, and it just makes sense for Paradigm to be there too. Guilty Gear has so many amazing characters with their own stories, this anime is just a taste of it all.

That little girl referring to Unika as an angel was extra sweet to me, it's yet another parallel to Dizzy, who back during her time living in the woods, had a little blind girl as a friend named Josephine, who assumed Dizzy was an angel because of the feeling of her wings.
