Personally, I like instrumental bands. Vocals for me have always just been another instrument, and instrumental bands just replace the vocal lines with a different instrument.
I see your point about vocals. I mostly listen to Jrock and even when I can't understand a damn thing, I still much prefer a human voice in the mix. An instrumental song is good once in a while but give me that human voice. It carries so much even if you can't understand it.
Also, I am totally shipping those two. They fight way too much not to end up in bed one day. They are like Loco Musica and Leberblume from Gushing.
I'm kind of hoping the sister joins in with her violin at some point, I know she is not shown in the band in the OP but even if it's just 1 song, rock violin is kick ass.
You can have a band without vocals, you know, there is a very famous instrumental rock band in the US called The Ventures. Don't deny it all.
Least violent lesbian relationship lol
to me a vocalist is an add on when it comes to a rock band, but one that is very commonly added. the things i think are actually needed are a drummer a bassist and a guitarist, ideally 2.
they gonna frick
I might have already commented this on this channel, but saying it again just in case. This show is a parody on Class S, which is a genre from the late 1800s early 1900s that you can think off as sort of “proto-yuri”, that was heavily influenced by the socio-cultural climate of Japan at the time. It was a period of heavy modernization and westernization. Women were leaving the household and attending school in large numbers for the first time, many in Catholic all girls schools. There was also the Takarazuka Revue, a theatre revue with all female casts. So you had famous women playing the roles of princes and warriors and well that awoke something in the lesbian population lol. There was however, still a lot of repression and expectations for tradition and roles that you can clearly see this show is taking cues from (even if it’s exaggerated for dramatic effect)
YOU make sure you like the video Joe… YOU make sure…. 😤
😂😂😂😂😂
On another note. This is some pretty darn good Yuri we got here. I’m quite enjoying myself. 🎉🎉😂
This show went from Yuri bait to full on metaphorical lesbian BDSM faster than a Band Maid drum solo.
Love the Gorilla insult, sly reference to the drummer Akane Hirose, who often scofs bananas during concerts for energy.
Like that they're including the band's songs, but I'd like to see more covers like Ghost Dance from Ep. 1, the bands has eclectic tastes, and their music veers from punk to progressive (Ghost Dance) to hard rock to Japanese folk music. Hope we see some of that range over the next few episodes.
Hope this reaction gets support. Enjoying this show
It's a good anime with interesting story and a sound reason
do you use tools to translate the titles into the local language of the viewer? If so, could you review it? It's very strange
I'm with you on the band minimums. Songs that are 8 minutes long and have 5 and a half instrumental parts usually bore me to death, same as over extended guitar solos live and stuff.
Saying that while being a Band-Maid fan sounds like hypocresy, because they have a whole ton of instrumentals, but they use variety on their favor and all instruments have a moment to shine with or without vocals, so the listener doesn't feel the same shit is being repeated over and over. One of the many reasons why I love em so much.
Actually enjoying your critical and honest way to react to anime, might stay to rewatch RiaLM's eps and share opinions. Peace 🤘🏻🕊
27:18 no video game music???
Also, the mother’s opinion is cut content. I don’t say what it is cuz they might be saving it as a reveal. They’re been moving things around and adding content so it likely is just an upcoming thing.
Otoha Kurogane = Yumeko Jabami
Lilisa Suzunomiya = Mary Saotome
Can't believe Joe doesn't want to be a high class lady.
Also it's funny that he mentioned an acapella band as there's an anime releasing later this year about that exact thing.
I mean, no baseline was kinda working for Shin Kawasaki in Girls Band Cry. It's why Voiceless Fish from episode 3 was so good.
❤️🩵💚
IDK, man. The reason I fell into the post/math rock, djenty stuff was because there were no bad lyricists to get in the way of the music. I either feel the music or I don't. No halfway stuff like "I kinda dig the crunchy riffs, but I just wish the vocalist was better" (better vocal style, better lyrics, etc.).
