Yahya Is A MONSTER! | Beastars Season 3 Episode 5 Reaction & Review
Calxiyn reacts to Beastars Season 3 Episode 5! This episode was INSANE with the confrontation between Yahya and Legoshi. We also get to see Bill and Legoshi, and Louis and Legoshi catch up – but the scenes with Yahya and Legoshi really steal the show. This episode had some amazing drama and tension, but how are we supposed to feel about Yahya himself and how Legoshi responds to him? Was this an overreaction? Join me as we discuss, analyze and theorize in this Beastars S3 EP5 Reaction & Review!

First comment jitters but here's my take on the Yahya/Gosha situation. Yahya is wrong for his treatment of Legoshi (sins of the father and whatnot). However even in this episode, Yahya's anger towards Gosha is 100% justified. YES Gosha is right to find his own happiness but he's also very selfish. He expected Yahya to congratulate him for quitting trying to be the Beastar when they BOTH spent 4 YEARS minimum to attain this dream. Gosha's decision affected more than just him and his family. Yahya's whole fighting style RELIED on Gosha. But Gosha couldn't understand why his friend wasn't happy for him. Gosha sprung this on him on a random day and told him to deal with it. I've been in a similar position to Yahya in that situation so that's my take on it
Kopi Luwak is a real product that was 'trendy' at one point in time, though like most things, became more problematic when people started to force civets to consume coffee to produce it. The digestive process doesn't provide much of a balance of nutrients, and is part of an rather unregulated farming market, leading to a lot of animal abuse (because a pound of the coffee can go for as much as $600.) Civets are also farmed for perfumes/colognes as well.
The manga actually shows off Yahya during the incident with the cows. Rather, the darkness for the scene is probably just because Yahya's trying to keep Legoshi in a calm environment, harkening back to the whole moonlight room. It's to set an environment to, perhaps, keep Legoshi off his guard, since he seems to have some delusions about Legoshi being a villain, or being trouble. So, keeping the environment more in tune to his nocturnal nature helps Yahya get a better idea of just what kind of person Legoshi actually is. Very sort-of Batman-esque, reading up on his target, since we're talking about vigilantism and all.
Legoshi's bending the knee still kind of comes from what he said before, that he thinks the Beastar is supposed to be this point of hope and this thing to live up to, and him 'apologizing' isn't strictly to Yahya, but to the idea of what the society's built up around, this 'pinnacle' of law and order. Which he clearly violated, even as he's pointing out how he likes those imperfections. Him removing his teeth is him sort of pointing out to Yahya that his focus on his carnivore nature is the mistake he's made, as Legoshi's already once defanged himself during the whole meat stimulation training. So, to him, removing his teeth is nothing. He's already figuratively done that once before, so he's challenging Yahya's preconceptions that're focused on him being a carnivore.
(I feel like some of this suffers though because of the cliffhanger, because it'd probably make more sense if the whole of the Yahya scene played out.)
Thanks for reactions!
