I have a theory about Francois gender: Butlers in the past are in most cases Man and since Ryusui doesnt want to see Woman cry, i thought there must be a reason for that, so i
combied these things:
Perhaps Ryusuis family was making it hard for Francois becoming a Butler because they are thinking "traditional" and want a Male Butler.
Which lead to a lot of tears for Francois, which Ryusui saw but thanks to perseverance of Francois and support of Ryusui, Francois managed to become a Butler.
Just a bit of theory, would like to know if somebody thinks this fit or what would be against this.
Fun Fact: Francois is the only ambiguous character in the series. Frankly, I think she's a woman. The author just loves keeping it a mystery.

This is probably some kind of Sourdough. I think it's called Poolish style.
Natural yeast is legit, it's the white sheen on the skin of fruits. I just added some to my sourdough starter this morning. Baking is definitely challenging but therapeutic. You fold the dough to make gluten. It gives the bread structure and improves the taste.
Francois'a gender is unknown during all of the anime and manga, but is threated like a woman. Also, Francois is not just good at cooking, they are also good at foreseen unexpected things and get them ready fast.

In regards to why they never went to find another cave with nitric acid is probably because the Miracle Cave was just that. A miracle. It had the perfect conditions for consistently producing enough nitric acid for one person at a time. The right amount of bats living there, the right formation of the cave ceiling for it to drip perfectly. Trying to find another would just be a waste of resources when they're trying to do other things.
Plus remember, they can't go reviving too many people at once anyway. Even with the wheat they're now growing, they're still going to be tight with food for a while.
There has been debate about the "Greed equals justice" line. It's believed the translation is off and it should be "Desire is noble". Greed tends to have an unfavorable image attached to it, but desire in a way is similar in that the desire for something (a better way of doing things for example) is noble, rather than to give up and go without all the time. Essentially making progress is linked to desire – therefore, it's noble.
