This anime was not on our radar this season but Trust us it's a must and might end up being Anime of the Season!
This video kind of demonstrates what I was a bit worried would happen due to the Japanese dub releasing so soon alongside the original Chinese version…and that’s people getting confused because others call it an anime so they think it’s from Japan.
It’s actually a donghua from China!!
This is why I recommend watching it in the original Chinese language version; it’s really good. ^^
Aniplex coproduced it alongside Bilibili, aka gave money, which is why the Japanese dub came out at the same time.
But a behind-the-scenes video from Aniplex even shows that the series was animated in multiple Chinese cities.
I get that people will say anime is just the Japanese term for animation so it doesn’t really matter, but the fact that people get confused is why I prefer to keep it clear.
Especially since it can help weed out the sinophobe anime fans faster.

Is anyone else like really freaking sad over the original Nice just killing himself? He didn't really do anything for the audience to feel anything for him but the fact that he just did it with no internal conflict and a smile on his face makes me really depressed over it and every character in episode 1 just glazes over it except the main character who only cares for the first half because he now has to impersonate him
The guy you saw in the opening was X the number 1 hero
The composer that does the music for this also did solo leveling which is why it may have a similar sound and feel
