たがいに助け合う“互恵関係”を解消した、高校二年の小鳩くんと小佐内さん。
小佐内さんは、新聞部一年の瓜野くんとつきあいはじめる。瓜野くんは在学した証しを残し、小佐内さんにいいところを見せるため、市内で起きた放火事件を学内新聞で取り上げようと奮闘する。
一方、小鳩くんはクラスメイトの仲丸さんとつきあいはじめる。平穏な日々を過ごすなか、河川敷で放火現場に遭遇し……。小鳩くんと小佐内さんの小市民としての再出発は、はたしてどうなるのだろうか。

The second season of Shoushimin Series.

The second season will focus on two new cases from the novel series, adapting the two-part third volume Shuuki Gentei Kuri Kinton Jiken (The Autumn-Exclusive Kuri Kinton Case) and the fifth volume Touki Gentei Bonbon Chocolat Jiken (The Winter-Exclusive Chocolate Bonbons Case).

Kobato and Osanai are now second-year high school students who both have ended their “reciprocal relationship” in which they helped each other out.

Osanai-san begins dating Urino-kun, a first year student in the newspaper club. To leave evidence that he was a student and to impress Osanai, Urino works hard to write about an arson incident that occurred in the city for the school newspaper.

Meanwhile, Kobato-kun starts dating his classmate, Nakamaru-san. While spending their days peacefully, they come across an arson scene on the riverbank… How will Kobato and Osanai’s new start as ordinary people turn out?
